  1. I have been out a couple of times and observed, once at night time ratting with a Nitesite viper I think it was, that was a real good experience and probably what got me interested in air rifles again as I used to shoot 30 years ago, now I love technology and the latest gadgets but the more I think about it the more I'm going off slightly the electric guns, for on the range and accuracy testing etc it would be awesome to have accuracy over 50 yds, but not needed for hunting. my only gripe with the ultimate sporter is the shot count when I'll be at the range practising and getting used to the gun, I don't want to really be filling up every 15 minutes, I know it takes seconds to refill but it's going to be the amount of times during the session.are there other options that I have missed out on, wolverine r looks nice.
  2. I really really like the s510 ultimate sporter, shot her yesterday, well well nice looking gun and feels awesome to shoot, but that god darn shot count, I'm a newbie and shouldn't be bothered by it probably, but I am hence me contemplating the US and A.N Other, with higher shot count.
  3. thats your opinion, fine but it's not all about the bling bling, I love the look of a few AA guns and I don't think they're all that pretty, I'm new and simply asking for advice, some people would say, yes get a Impact or a Pulsar due to their accuracy that would then bring me confidence, and yes I admit I like nice things, I work hard for what I've got, and I literally don't care what people think of the gun I choose, as long as I like it and it fits then I'm happy.
  4. As long as the gun shop you purchase from is a decent one, and I fully believe that my one is very well respected.
  5. For me personally, if I choose your method of elimination for a certain product, I'd never buy anything because nothing in this world is perfect, but who cares when you have a lifetime warranty with the gun, for parts and labour and surely if the issues become a regular occurrence, exchange for a different rifle.
  6. .177 is definitely where I'm heading, I appreciate everyones advice regarding the spending, but I do have finance set up, changed my mind over the Impact due to the handling etc, so have got in excess of £1500 that I need to use towards a rifle, I have mentioned 2 rifles because of that amount of funds, I have shot both the Ultimate Sporter, and the R-10 SE, or go down the route of 1 gun, like the Pulsar. theres even the route of, say the sporter and a Nitesite kit in prep for a perm.
  7. Ok, but why are you saying that, what is your opinion, do you have 1st hand experience, or know anyone who does to say they're not what they seem?
  8. Happy Easter Sunday everyone, I'm possibly looking to purchase a Daystate Pulsar but wanted to know of any owners, pst or current that have had a sling attached to their Pulsars, if so can they please provide a picture, I cannot seem to find any of a swivel being attached to the rear of the rifle apart from accustom made plate that fits into the rear stock by the butt plate, I know you can get a picatinny attachment for the front rail to have a swivel.
  9. Yes well, each to their own but me personally I do not like the look or feel of the stock on the HW100 but what a gun to shoot, but I do not like wooden stocks, they're too plain for my taste. I really like the laminate in most rifles, in particular I like the AA Ultimate sporter stock, I'm considering the Daystate Pulsar but not seen one in person yet, so will wait for that before I make the decision to purchase or not, there is so much choice for every taste out there..that is the problem.
  10. Now the can have worms have just opened...what do you consider to be an ugly gun, just an opinion of course, which last time I checked, all was entitled to?
  11. apart from the passion of wanting to learn the sport and attend clubs and learn the gun and ranges, a lot of shooters won't admit to wanting a "looker" of a gun, where as aesthetics is always a factor for me personally. its like having a nice car, it makes you wanna drive it more, but agree on the cost element of a brand new gun but as I have mentioned I already have a little finance arrangement set in place to afford me a very decent gun, and of course all the pcp's will outshoot me, but isn't that the fun of learning and trying to conquer?
  12. Trouble is I already got some finance sorted, not a lot but still. but the AA I cannot get outa my head it was gorgeous to shoot as well, so much reason to lean towards that gun, adjustability, cocking lever is fantastic and the magazine, sling mounts, stock colour, feel etc etc
  13. Ironically I think I may be sorted with that.
  14. You said for me to take the gun in the woods, well unless it's a permission which I do not yet have, I would get arrested for having the gun in a public place, wouldn't I?
  15. Take my gun in the woods, what and get arrested?
  16. not for hunting, but target shooting on the range to prep me for hunting, I mean my club is 9am - 4pm, how many bloody times will I have to refill, lol
  17. yes it is a 300 bar, brand new.
  18. yes scope is sorted, with the impact it came with a hard case so didn't have to worry, but now I will have to get a decent case, and a bipod as well, and zillions of pellets too, but thanks for all the advice guys, 177 it is then I guess. oh, and tank sorted as well, so that budget is simply the gun. bottle is sorted, a 5 ltr one. I have heard that you can refill at ranges as long as you're a member its free, will ask the question tomorrow.
  19. Yes but they also have a large tank there, I'll have to ask if it is free to refill
  20. I loved shooting the HW100 in laminate a few weeks ago, the cocking lever is sublime, but no offence I found the look a bit too, meh for my taste but a hell of a gun to shoot, not that I know that much lol. I do like my aesthetics and the BSA and the AA especially is very very nice looking.
