  1. All seems to make perfect sense to me. If you are operating a business you should pay tax just like I do. Whether that is on line or bricks and mortar should make no difference. I can't stand people not paying their way, then claiming to everybody who will listen why they entitled to every public service available, oh and then blaming the way the country is going on migrants..... The only people who should be worried by this are those not doing their bit, so looks like great news for all the law abiding citizens of PW.
  2. Get on Amazon. £35 for edge. Drain out to old at the bottom and pour new in the top. Job done. If you have a Costco subscription it's on offer every few months for under 30.
  3. I see bad practices all too often but this is one. I never understand why people think it's ok to swing their guns around then break the barrels to eject into the bin. Many times I've seen people fire one shot then go straight into this automated process. Who knows what happened, but if simple safety rules were followed sadly it never would have.
  4. Not helped by the auto correct error changing re wax to relax!
  5. I do it in the bath. No soap just warm water and stamp around on it for a while. Maybe spot soap under the pits. Then relax. Best done on a hot summer's day.
  6. Scully, they did mine but it took some convincing. Multi choking requires reproof by law. Opening up a choke does not and in the case of opening to use steel shot serves no purpose as I said above and Teague should be providing better advise to their customers.
  7. Just be aware that is you ask advice from a manufacturer they will take a very risk averse position. Even if they are 99.99% sure the barrels would handle standard steel, they don't know what has happened to the gun since sold and would be opening them selves to huge liability. I'll give you my data point of one. 2003 Miroku MK60 taken out from 1/4 & 3/4 to 1/4 & 3/8. Many standard steel pro ecowad no3s zero issues. I would also say there is no point in reproofing even if teague keep insisting. You already own the gun so you already own the risk of damage = pointless £150.
  8. Sorry that doesn't add up. It's the cost of doing business. I've known many people working in cash and I can tell you there is only one reason why... To declare less than they earn to pay less tax. Simple. When I get paid I pay my tax and national insurance wand everything else. No option. So why would I help some one else dodge paying their way so they can use all the services of this country for free and drive around in flash cars. I'm sure they won't be turning their state pension down when the time comes because it's not paid in cash. I'll just pay for that for them as well shall I?
  9. I wouldn't be too happy about it, probably so they can choose how much to declare for Tax purposes. Lots of smaller businesses are actually doing cashless because they save money time and risk in banking. Most small towns no longer have a bank branch so you may have to travel along way to deposit cash = time and money. Plus you do it less often and are transporting large amounts of cash which can be lost or stolen. The only reason to force a cash business is to avoid paying your way in this country so I avoid them. If you want to be part of this country pay your way.

    Heat pumps

Not really. As I pointed out above. A well installed system can already make you significant savings in money and carbon impact. The problem is that many systems are not well installed. Add to that potential increases in gas prices and possible removal of the electricity carbon tax and it could swing dramatically. It's also likely heat pumps will offer better operating efficiency in the future.

    Heat pumps

It's closer to 40% no or low carbon (wind, solar, nuclear, hydro, biomasses) and improving rapidly. You do have to take account of electrical transmission loses around 7-10 % though. We can actually generate more but at times it's limited by the ability to transport, hance all the pylon upgrades at the moment.

    Heat pumps

There seems to be a general misconception through these posts that heat pumps only work in super insulated homes. The amount of insulation is irrelevant other than total heating demand. In a good heat pump install where it is cheaper to run that alternative fuels then you would actually save more by going for a heat pump. The first thing that needs to happen is the government removing the carbon intensive fuel tax added to electricity as it is now actually the cleanest energy source on average. That would make it a no brainer but already well installed systems are achieving SCOP values over 400% which makes them far cheaper to run than gas. Proper design and installation is essential as if it's not running effectively then you won't get enough heat and that scop can quickly drop to 2.5 and cost a lot more than gas. Looking at government data the average SCOP from their survey was 2.8 - dreadful and accounts for all the bad press about heat pumps. With the electricity tax in place you need SCOP of 3-3.5 to break even with other fuels.
  14. I agree with your view but I don't think pension policy is going to be the way to correct that. I think the argument being made way back at the start was effectively that pensioners see a disproportionately sweet offer because of their voting power and it's not affordable for the country long term. I have to agree, not that it should be taken away, but it should not ever be a sweeter deal than the working man is getting, like all other benefits. When the current pension system was put in place it was expected to give people on average a comfortable 10 years. Now it's quite commonly supporting people for longer than they ever worked. It's the second biggest UK government expenditure almost joint with the spend on the entire health service.
  15. If that were true then we should apply the same to Tax and make that a flat contribution!
  16. I see what you mean yellow bear but you have to use percentages to keep things relative. Otherwise eventually everybody will be paid the same. We are seeing this in the workplace where the lowest paid are being given extra increases because the are so close to the point of not being able the meet average bills. Unfortunately the effect of that is devaluing the more senior positions requiring skills, qualifications and ultimately own the personal risk. The state pension was set as a minimal income assuming costs such as children, paying Mortgage etc were no longer a factor. Aiming your above example if that £25 per week is paying for 3-4 people and a mortgage in a far more unbalanced wage/house price environment than 20 years ago, then who is really getting the biggest increase?
  17. I think the perspective of the working man is that here is no way a pensioner sat at home should be getting a bigger increase to their income than them. That for me is why the triple lock should end. It should be linked into average pay increases and nothing else, to remain consistently connected to what what society have to deal with. Also the public sector remain an easy target for everybody. I can tell you that in the 13 years I've been in he public sector I've never seen a pay rise that even comes close to inflation. This year for example, if I'm working 60 hours a week and pay rise is capped at 4.5% it doesn't seem right to see people sat at home getting 8.5% regardless of what that benefit may be called.
  18. Some people want a locking knife? But they do do none lockers in a couple of the smaller sizes.

    magnet stick

I've got a grip stick. Great at picking up empties but why is it so chunky for what it is? It's only picking up empty shells. Would be great to have similar pick up from a small telescopic form factor.
  20. Yep I'm just outside Witham and go to Hampshire often. As above the I only way is M25 then A12. Where is he settling down? Would be good to have shooting friends over here.
  21. I'll take the other gilet please. Pm coming
