  1. I'll accept £425 face to face. I’ve decided to sell my BSA Ultra multi-shot .177. It is a very rare one-off prototype model. According to the Midlands RFD I purchased it from, it was one of the very first multi-shot models produced at BSA Small Heath, Birmingham when that model was developed from the MMC single-shot model. The rifle is in a nice ambidextrous walnut stock with chequering and oil finished. The receiver has none of the white paint lettering added to later standard production models indicating model and safety instructions etc. The only markings are the barrel stamps (BSA, England, Calibre etc.). It is fitted with a tactical bolt handle (also included is the standard handle) and a small Weaver/Picatinny rail under the air cylinder in front of the stock to which can be added accessories such as a bipod, torch or laser etc. It will come with 1 x 10-shot BSA magazine, a BSA steel muzzle brake/thread protector, and a Swift Stumpy compact modular sound moderator, either of which can be fitted to the ½” UNF threaded barrel. Also included are quick release sling swivels and a BSA rifle sling, and the appropriate quick-fill adaptor. The safety catch is on the right-hand side of the action (as with the previous MMC model), a further indication of its prototype status. A full air fill provides 40 shots, as with all .177 Ultras. The torch/mount shown in the photos is not included in the sale, and is shown to illustrate the function of the rail described above. Condition is mint/excellent, the blueing is perfect with no rust spots or fingerprint marks, and the stock is nicely grained walnut by Minnelli with chequering and BSA logo on the base of the pistol grip. The rifle has only ever been filled with clean dry air from a diver’s bottle and only used at my clubs, not in the field. The size restriction of photo uploads to the forum means the photos below are low res-res and don’t do the gun justice. If you are interested and would like to see some hi-res photos, please PM me with an email address and I will send them – but please only if genuinely interested in purchasing. PLEASE NOTE this rifle has no serial number as it was a prototype model, I believe not originally intended for retail sale – this is not an issue in the UK in respect of legislation. It is difficult to accurately value this rifle due to its uniqueness and likely collectability, and I may well regret parting with it, but I don’t use it now I have moved onto shotguns and FAC. I’m asking £500, collected from B78, or possibly meet up somewhere within a reasonable drive (an hour?) for the cost of my fuel. I may consider posting, but would have to check cost/insurance, which would of course be payable by purchaser. In that case payment by bank transfer in advance would be required, and I believe the air cylinder has to be empty. I’ve sold several of my airguns on here recently, as a result of my change of disciplines – I’m sure my previous purchasers would vouch for me if you wanted to check with them. Please PM me if you are interested in this unique one-off BSA.
  2. I have an Ultra multi shot .177 for sale. Rare factory prototype in walnut stock. I'm 45 mins from Stoke, could meet half-way. Let me know if you want to see some photos.
  3. Lantac LA-SF15, Battlearms Workhorse or LA119A22 .22LR semi-auto? All similar price point, does one stand out?
  4. Exactly what I need. I have a week off work the week after next (7th onwards), could I collect then, or I could do the weekend before or after. Thanks.
  5. Anyone have a Lee Production Pot or similar they no longer use? The type with a pour valve in the base for bullet casting?
  6. Are you sure? I have the app. and I can't find a N310 recipe using my bullet. I emailed them and they responded as follows: "For safety and product liability reason we are unfortunately not able to comment on data differing from our published reloading data. Each and every line of data we publish has carefully been tested in our ballistic test center and proven to be safe. Very sorry for not being able to give any recommendations concerning reloading data."
  7. Thanks. Yes, I'm keen to use a powder for which the manufacturer has published load data for, having recently seen the NRA UK article you mention.
  8. I can get N310, but emailed Vihtavuori and they won't give be any load data for that for .38 Special. Might try Hodgdon HP38.
  9. I can't get Vihtavuori N320 anywhere local to me currently. What other powders are reloaders using for .38 Special? I'm loading for my Marlin 1894C .38 Special / .357 Magnum 18.5" barrel, for targets at 25 and 50 yards, using 158 grain home-cast (Lee 358-158-RF mould) lead (50/50 range scrap/pure lead) bullet and CCI primers? Thanks.
  10. Yes, very interested. Details please - dies, age, price, location? Thanks.
  11. I might be interested, thanks. I've not seen that model, I'll do some research and get back to you. Thank you.
  12. Wanted - Progressive reloading press in good condition, ideally with dies for .38SPL/.357 Mag. Dillon 550, Lee Loadmaster etc.
  13. Still looking for 10-shot ones if anyone has any?
  14. Looking for spare 5-round or 10-round .22lr magazines for Anschutz 1416 rimfire rifle. Original factory ones ideally - with black plastic slide-off base plate. The ones for .17HM2 are the same I believe. Thanks.
  15. Thank you, very kind offer. I am only 30 mins away. I don't have any reloading gear yet, just doing the research, but thank you.
  16. Currently researching all aspects of this side of the sport to hopefully start reloading soon, initially .38 Special / .357 Magnum, possibly .223 Rem at a later date. Which reloading manual would those with experience recommend, or is there perhaps better information available on-line? Is a hardcopy manual a must-have for a just couple of calibres?
  17. Anyone reloading .38 special or .357 magnum for underlever rifle? What is the cost per round, assuming reuse/already having the brass?
  18. Anyone own or shot any the of the currently available .22lr AR style semi-autos? I'm looking to get one soon. Considering: S&W M&P15-22 Kriss Defiance Tippmann M4-22 Southern Gun Co. V/W22 Lantac LA-15 Hammerli TAC R1 Pros and cons and opinions please. Any others to consider? Thanks all.
  19. I plan to shoot .22 bolt action in the club target competitions at different ranges, and various other disciplines with semi-auto, some yet to evolve due to club expansion (new site just acquired). I will shoot at my club, but also at another where a relative is a member. This will be my first FAC, I currently hold a SGC.
  20. That's why I'm asking really, there doesn't seem to be a standard figure. As you say, large differences in figures granted for the same "good reason". Perhaps it is down to some having several guns and shooting different disciplines. Certainly some different numbers amongst those I have spoken to at the clubs I've attended recently. I think I'll try for 1200 along with a bolt action and a semi-auto and see how I get on. Thanks.
  21. What ammunition quantities have people had approved by their FLO for club target shooting using .22lr at first FAC application? Home office guidance states an allocation 1000 not unreasonable for target shooting, but a serious shooter might wish to possess up to 6000. What sort of figure is the norm for a typical club target shooter - 2000? I want to ask for a reasonable figure, and not sell myself short or ask for 2 or 3 times the normal amount. Thanks.
