  4. i have to agree. my first 22lr would not group 2" at 60 yards with anything i fed it. my second and current 22lr shoots inch or sub at 120y. around 1.5 inch at 150yard. 1.5 inch consistently. it has ONCE done a 1.15 inch 5 shot group at 175 yards! and hit a crow at 243 yards! I totally agree with bruno22rf. 22lr is a heck of a round.
  5. around the farm yard its fine for 50 - 80 yard shots into tree from sheds. its the field shots where it lacks. the site is very windy and shot tend to be 150 200 yards hence the need to use the rim fire. i'm very happy with my air rifle and my rimfire they perform excellently as long as i read the wind right. the pain is that I need to take both guns on the day as the rimmy is no good for the trees and the fac air no good for the long field shots, as its very windy also generally. one minute it can be a tree shot the next a field shot. I though about changing to baiting ground shots only to see how i get on using a different way.
  6. 17g hmr was no good for me cause i could not shoot it into the trees even in the middle of a national park. so stuck with fac air for tree shots. its a pain taking two rifles. my fac is 29.8fpe. slugs would just slow it down. it shoots jsb exact best.
  7. i wish some smart factory made 20 grain .22 rounds that were accurate at 70 yards. then i could sell my fac air😡

  11. i brought an fac rapid about 4 years ago. well built but it was not as accurate as my last fac rifle or the current fac rifle I have. a little disappointed. had my hands burn a few times buying second hand. if i buy another rifle, any, I would have to test it before parting with cash. its a LOTTERY as too if that guns a shooter or not. if someone brought a rapid that didnt shoot well, its easy to swap the barrel to see if that helps, more costs tho
  12. i completely missed a pigeons head yesterday at 30 yards. maybe it was a poor rest standing supported, my fault and wind plus windy branch. prone off the deck with a bipod on paper the rifle will shoot about 0.1-0.3 inch at 40 yards on a good day. around half inch at 50 yards. a miss is shooter error normally a dirty barrel or the wind!
  13. i wanted to get rid of my fac air a while back and find a way for my 22lr to replace it. sadly i found i needed fac air and could not get rid of it. the main point is shooting into trees. simply put: fac air does it better. best buy a gun already converted to get the best deal. for some reason lots of people end up selling their fac air /many on the shelves.
  14. 1/4 choke seems to work for me. maybe its the gun and the choke combo
  15. greetings to all from the peak district
