Just wondered how many people on here have a conviction of some type and still got there licence (sgc or fac) if so what and how long prior to getting your licence

Possibly because they last longer and have fewer issues than cheaper guns?
So you’d think people would keep them so there would be less seconds on the market

Try and go for a second hand b525 or silver pigeon and you won't loose much money if you decide to sell.
however they do have to pretty much fit or there's not much point
If these guns are so good why are they so many second hand ones ... just a thought

Hazelnuts they can’t resist them

Jacko go in a shop , dont look at names or prices , ask if you can try the gun . Hold it and see how it feels , you will know when you have picked the right gun up . It will just feel right . Its a little strange feeling at first . But something tells you this feels right . Ok , now look at the name and price . Next big question can i afford the price . To some degree it does not matter about the name its , this is the gun for me .

You can buy a decent used Brownings g or Beretta for £800.00
I'm a total novice at this I wont know if it's a good second hand gun or if I'm being ripped off.. E.G. Look for pitting I wouldnt know where to start

Contact Wabbitbosher and spend up to £150 on your first gun, learn to shoot it and then in a year or two spend your budget on a 2nd gun.
Where is he based

Looking on the brightside and my app goes through for my sgc what would you recommend for a starter gun. I will be mainly clay shooting but hoping to go to the odd shoot or find a permission. My budget is between 6&800. I have been looking a the ATA SP BRONZE SPORTER not seen any bad reviews for its price.... THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ADVICE

As a lot of others have said, each application is different and will depend on many factors. A good mate of mine has been in the same boat as you, he knocked a guy out for laying hands on his wife, it was 11 years ago but he was worried his sgc application would be turned down because of it, he received his cert in the post last week.
That's good to hear... I have had a letter asking for dates I'm available for a visit that has gone back so just hoping that's one step nearer

It should 5 for new applicants and 10 there after for renewals

I'll wait till I get the OK if it ain't gonna go against me

I was talking to a local game keeper and he said it's basically in the bag if I have got a visit as they have done there checks already and if I've wrote my conviction on the 201 form they know I'm not trying to hide anything

Do you have a reason to think you will be declined a cert?
I had my cabinet installed before my visit, was told it would speed things up. I know people who waited and the FEO wanted a return visit to inspect the cabinet once installed.

I asked at my grant visit and all the background checks and Dr stuff is done prior to visit.
So is it worth ordering my cabinet now or should I not count my chickens just yet
-
I'm asking as I haven't bought a cabinet yet as I want to make sure I ain't wasting my money
-
Does the feo visit every applicant?or only those they have background checked and think should be OK for an sgc so they can check security at there property and to see if they seem a normal
-
Is this for any type of gun as I have an airgun at theo but am waiting on my sgc
