  1. I am no better I find them but the day after they are not where they should be
  2. If I start thinking about the shot that’s when I start doing everything wrong and the get frustrated and start thinking about it more ... we will have to get Jdog to sort us out to shoot together again
  3. All advice is taken but I would like to know what method you use not Turn this on to another topic
  4. Gun fit is reasonable think it may need a little mor drop but that’s for an expert to decide carts in the last video are Eley hv pigeon 32g 6 fibre only Use them as I run out and the nearest farm supplies only had them in .. chokes are 1/2 & 3/4 My favoured cart is 30g 6 plastic but at the minute stock in my RFD is what the rep can deliver also I have ordered another choke so I’ll be shooting half n half when that comes
  5. What is your go too method for pigeon shooting I tried maintained lead but swing through seems to work best but after the other day maybe pull away is the best for me so just wondered what the majority use.. cheers in advance
  6. I have been missing high so trying to adjust maybe I don’t need to or I’m just over doing it
  7. Out on Saturday with jdog on some wheat stubble ( Jdog’s post in pictures) I managed to capture a few hits with the shotkam even though I was shooting like a complete muppet as you will see with some of the misses in the video hope you Enjoy

  9. The bag is only this Good due to some of the best shooting I have ever witnessed some of the birds my shooting buddy hit where stratospheric and travelling on the wind At a great rate of knots if you hit one of these birds you would be overly happy but when your mate hits quite a few you know you are in the presence of a great pigeon shooter ... me on the other hand did not shoot good could not get my rhythm or range
  10. Can someone please enlighten me as to why my gun manual say no more than half choke is it simply down to steel travels faster than lead Or that it’s harder than lead and would damage a too tighter constriction ... cheers
  11. I may have misheard him but till I have read the licence I do not know what I am aloud to do .... found this but it doesn’t mention cormorants ..... In England and Wales the use of lead shot has been banned for the shooting of all duck, geese, coots and moorhens wherever they occur, as well as on or over all foreshore and specified Sites of Special Scientific Interest
  12. I understand this when I go out with NPPC if I get 10 it’s a good day for me but this day was baffling even for Jdog there was lots of birds about just not showing interest ... if we where not going out for a meal that night with mrs Jdog and my missus we may have moved to a different place on that field or to another field it was just not our day
  13. Are they armour plated or something
  14. I have to Go back and see them to get a copy of all the details Of the new license as they have asked If they could shoot more and they said I can use lead or steel .. the pond manager said they are usually tree line height or on the ponds
  15. I have just been asked to help deal with the above at some local fishing ponds everything Is legal they are adding me to their licence for this coming season I just wondered what carts to use and any tips Cheers in advance
  16. While loitering around outside Jdog house 😜 he came out to me and suggested we have a drive round some stubble fields so for the next 2 hrs we drove round 20 different fields And saw very little feeding and no real lines to give us reason to set up on Any of them ..so off we went to where we had shot over standing wheat this was now stubble after watching while having a cuppa and snack we noticed 2 definite lines at the bottom of the field and plenty of birds feeding as we drove to set up we lifted a least a hundred birds so this looked promising .. we where set up for 2 o’clock and the first bird sheepishly approached and the was just about to turn when Jdog dispatched of it and that was about as close as any where going to come we shuffled the pattern a few times magnet and flapper on and off but the just wouldn’t decoy the 2 lines had stopped but there was hundreds of bird round and about but showing no interest in our decoy we end the day at 330/4 o’clock with 9 of the only birds stupid enough to come close... there are only 2 field cut in that area so it was confusing why they would not decoy and the birds shot had empty crops .. this is why pigeon shooting can be so frustrating as well as so enjoyable
