  1. I found the physical size was an annoyance, so I opted for a very small unsophisticated/untechnical one ( 2 reasons, its out of sight so doesn't disturb me with a screen etc and less likely to get pinched ) also opt for a top quality data card as the continuous overwriting will fry the card if you buy cheap
  2. Going for round 2 this weekend with the rugby me thinks, as came across some lamb mince today
  3. 14 pigeons, 2 crows and about 30 shots , it was windy and good fun. I normally use 1/2 and 3/4 chokes but went for 3/4 and full due to the wind and in my humble shooting capacity I considered a few of my shots were aces so happy enough few hours
  4. Went out today and first shot 1 bird, then 2 for 2 and thought of your post on here, however, the ratio went down hill after that but had a great mornings sport, the dog enjoyed it and a siesta this afternoon; not a bad Saturday
  5. If I get a kill with my 1st shot I tend to pack up for the rest of the day. . . . . consequently I have had plenty days at 100% lol
  6. Wow, you have amazed me 😇. As Dave at Kelton just said, I don't care and I tuned out of most day to day conversations as I consider them white noise but do enjoy elevenses during the shooting season as we all seem to have a point of view and a laugh about important stuff like guns and dogs
  7. I get you sir and agree totally. At 150-180mm I would need 3 steps and like the idea of 'slightly curved' as I like subtle designs
  8. On a birth certificate it used to say simply Male or Female. I know I've been out of touch for a while but I'm still sure every human is either one or the other
  9. Aaaah, OK. Makes sense so might make them rectangle as know dog boxes are far easier square/rectangle rather than making them curved to fit snugly if you get me.
  10. Without being stupid, how would it become solid if no concrete is used? but certainly like the different coloured steps! Yep, like that
  11. That's certainly one to remember, thanks
  12. I'm going to build some new steps to our back door ( 3 of them ) in a semi-circle/half moon design onto a path of which I have a blank canvass to start but looking for some ideas from the PW fountain of knowledge and experience of how to go about the job and how to make it look a little different but not too far fetched. . . . . Look forward to seeing what you come up with and thanks in advance
  13. I've found it's all about the coffee not the machine so go for one your like the taste, I use Dolce gusto Americano
  14. After some reading and a trip to toolstation & Screwfix ( their mini bolt cutters felt very cheap ) I paid the extra and bought Knipex and they work like a dream and light/small enough to carry in all fairness for anyone who wants to know, these are the model I went for: Knipex 71 01 160 Cobalt Bolt Steel Wire Power Side Cutter/Cutting Pliers 160mm I have one in the car Bought them mate

    Work boots

Safety Boots | S3 Safety Boots | Work Boots | Grisport They also do decoy and Gamekeeper boots that I swear by but in all fairness haven't tried their 'workboots' as I simply use my old ones but their returns policy is as good as it comes
  16. Pan fry or griddle pan, red hot with no oil. Start fat side down and turn until all coloured to your liking. I personally half an onion and do the same. Place lamb and onion into an oven tray and add a quarter of a wineglass of water into your pan to deglaze all the bits that have stuck and add this to your try, cover and in an oven at 180c for 45mins allow to rest and it's perfectly soft, tasty, tender AND WELL DONE. Make mint sauce with concentrate, vinegar, sugar and spring onion to suit your taste!
  17. Ditto. I got one once and it only covered up to 10miles from home!
  18. I would agree, I've been thinking about this topic and think I should get myself measured but London is a way from Blackpool and I don't really go down there anymore, surely there must be a quality place in the North West, does anyone know of such a place?
  19. You have amased me at that price, shall take a look. Cheers
  20. Your thoughts are similar to mine, however, your solution sounds a decent idea
  21. I bet that cost a few quid Nice one, cheers
  22. Have you got the link please as would like to watch it because I have 3 12g U/Os all different yet seem to shoot the same ( sometimes well and other times not so well )with them all but what I do think makes a difference is winter bulky clothing compared to summer attire
  23. My pal who ain't got much cash but who is very generous in helping me on shoot days has a Winchester Grand European which he was gifted by his uncle. The gun was won in a clay pigeon competition some years ago and suspect has had a lot of shots fired through it but the engraving and woodwork is gorgeous but has had numerous firing pins replaced by our local gunsmith because it keeps misfiring. This seems odd to me and would like to get it repaired for him but would like to ask you all what you think the repair/overhaul would cost before I end up with an enormous bill. Cheers lads
