  1. Welcome to the forum, your intro could very easily have double up for me 🤣. This a fantastic forum full of knowledgable members so enjoy. also worth having a look at https://www.shootclayforum.com for the clay shooting side of things 👍🏻
  2. Well done, a nice little lunchtime read 👌🏻
  3. Just as an outside the box suggestion, have you checked all forward facing sensors for debri/dirt?
  4. Couldn’t help but reply, Dunmow is where I grew up. Small world. Good luck with sale 👍🏻
  5. I believe that it’s personal choice unless shooting fitasc which requires you to shoot gun down as part of the rules. And live shooting gun out of the shoulder gives you a far better view of your target. I personally shoot a mixture dependant on the targets being shown (clays) as for a correct way I would say no, only vast amounts of differing opinions ! Do what feels comfortable for you.
  6. In Essex most places that I use have restricted the purchase of cement to ten bags, not much use to me really unless I want to go to multiple suppliers every day or so, I was told by one supplier that it was a shortage of plastic for packaging and not the actual cement that was in short supply…how true that is I don’t know. Haven’t hD any issues getting sharp, ballast, recycled ballast or type 1
  7. Lloyd, I was involved in a non fault rtc that very nearly cost me my life as a 19 year old, one of the significant injuries sounds like it’s very much like your sons. I’m now held together in various places with pins plates and wires. The elbow was a multiple fracture and dislocation and forearm break now held together with pins and plates, a 15 cm scar (thankfully healed quite well) and some lumps and bumps. I was given a worse case prognosis very much the same as your son’s, jump forward 17 years of aches and pains and I’m at about -15% movement and able to do most things. I sincerely hope that your son comes through this as lucky as I have been. It took time, but I proved the prognosis wrong with plenty of pig ignorance a dash or two of determination and a little bit of effort.
  8. Unfortunately more and more of the younger generations are anti royal and see them as a drain on the tax payer. So I’m not at all surprised by this.
  9. Fantastic post to see Jim! So pleased it all worked out 👍🏻 Hopefully many years of companionship and happy times to come.
  10. I would second the recommendation made above for erriswel. Just over an hour away from your named location is high lodge shooting ground, well worth a visit if not to far. Quidenham i’ve heard very good things about but never shot there, although the Thorrold family also run barrow sporting clays which run registered shoots (I think every other weekend) at barrow sporting clays (1.5 hours)
  11. 1 dog fox Wednesday night with .223 should have been two but the first came from behind and realised something was wrong and bolted.....refused to stop to a hand squeak by the time it stopped running a safe shot wasn’t available. We moved to the other side of the farm and took the shot on the second fox at 149 yds within 10 mins of being there. Half the Job done and a return visit required for the runner. total = 118
  12. Thanks for posting Jdog, just subscribed to Jackos Chanel on yt 👍🏻

    4x4 wanted

When it comes to the Ford rangers my advice is search search and search some more, some absolute bargains to be had if you are willing to look for them, I bagged a 2017 model ranger wildtrack fully loaded with canopy tow bar and most of the optional extras, covered 34,410miles and 1 owner from new for sub £19k (when I was buying that spec and mileage was selling around the £24/28k mark) It’s just a matter of looking and not jumping at the first thing you see. Good luck with your hunt for the right vehicle 👍🏻
  14. Hi mate he mentioned it to me, if you go to thread where you saw it and click on his name you will be able to send him a message.
  15. I can’t help with your request other than to say, if you’re not successful in your search it may be worth getting in touch with GMK. they have loads of wood sets that they take to various events to try and sell. Could be worth an ask.
  16. If you go onto eBay and type in tapered choke key loads will pop up, generally copies of the Teague key 👍🏻
  17. I’m not sure if this was a rhetorical question or not but...... yes it 100% does work it’s exactly what I use for removing my muller chokes.....and my Teague chokes

    Chockes

Hi salmo. what constriction’s are included in the 692 choke set please
  20. Sounds like a cracking session mate, I’ve not had the rods out in well over a year, didn’t renew tickets when lockdown came in. But I’ll hopefully get on the bank later in the year

The pressure is sat at about half way on the gauge. Yes I’d read the regulators are only fit for the bin, I’ve also read about the jb blueprints and also huma regulators. Cheers mate 👍🏻

Hi Stu, yes a .22 (sorry I thought I’d put that in my reply) from the info you have given me it is not only underpowered but well under powered. We where firing from the bonnet of his truck at 35 yds the board was approx 3ft square aiming at the center of the target in the centre of board and dropping short in the grass, so we then changed to a target pinned to the top of the board and aimed at centre approx 6in down from top of board and the pellet was striking the bottom of the board so looking at a 2ft drop at 35yds if I have read the info you’ve provided correctly. Thanks again for the effort you’ve made to help 👍🏻

Very kind of you, I sometimes get up to Clacton gun club to shoot the sportrap, I may give you a message in a couple of weeks time if that’s ok? I’ll try to coincide with coming up that way as it’s a bit of a drive.

Hi Stu, thanks for going to that effort. I’ll take a proper look tomorrow and see if I can make sense of it (im very new to rifles of any description) . it’s a bsa r10 mk2 and was using the pellets that came with it (gamo pro magnum 15.43gr) a friend who shoots centerfire tried to get it zeroed at 35yds for me and it was dropping well short. He got it onto the board but no penetration at all. through research I think the actuator is knackered, but as I say very new to rifles and certainly not a gunsmith 🤣 I’m in Witham mate between Colchester and Chelmsford on the a12 corridor

Apology accepted, and yes the comment was helpful in the fact that it told me I wasn’t being over the top already having it on the list of bits to get but not helpful in what I was asking and yes I appreciate that it will need to be chrono’d regularly to remain within the law, it’s an un altered sub 12 and I have no intention at all of altering it in any way that could see me in court on an illegal firearms charge. I have a list of bits and bobs to get before firing at live quarry. I already have a gun mounted range finder on route so that I am precise with ranges when taking shots etc and a chrono is also on the list. my original request is because it is severely lacking in power and I wanted to check it and be aware before handing over to a gunsmith to work on.
