  5. I was in a large RFD today as my buddy was buying a new Ultra XS laminate. The guy behind the counter was pulling his hair out with the new site, the search parameters are terrible. The old site was fit for purpose IMO, the new “updated” version needed to have a proper amount of stress testing prior to launch. It was an incredibly good site to ensure you were getting a fair price for PX and not getting your shirt removed for new guns.
  6. Yes, my buddy who I shoot with is a keeper, he reported it the very next day.
  7. We have got avian flu in Shropshire, pigeons are supposed to be quite resilient to it. A couple of days back whilst on a walked up day we found a corner of a field with about 60 dead. During the course of the day we found more, sporadic in areas, perhaps it’s been hitting them in your neck of the woods?
  8. I looked at the A300 but the model I was shown didn’t come with the kick off, it’s was a nice gun for £900. I was very sceptical of the claim of 70% less recoil with the kick off mega initially. My friend and I did a back to back test of our Miroku MK70’s, Franchi affinity 3 and A400 extreme plus which the RFD at oak edge had kindly allowed us to demo. We were using lyevale power blue 28g, 7, fibre. We agreed not to comment to each other until we had tested the A400 against the other 2, we also had a caveat that it needs to be 3 times better than the affinity as it’s 3 times the money. At the end of our “test” we both ordered A400’s. I have to lift my cap to beretta, they have completed proper R&D on this model, realised they have produced something very good indeed then patented it. It’s very expensive for a semi, the most I have ever paid for one, but nothing I have ever shot comes close for recoil reduction. My friend described it very well I though, he stated that all his other guns were a 1970’s ford cortina in tech but the A400 is a Tesla, such is the leap beretta have made.
  9. Just bought mine after a 10 month wait to get some stock in my RFD. Beretta A400 extreme plus. Having struggled with neck/shoulder/arm pain following an injury whilst deployed I was thinking my shooting days were up. Tested one back in Jan 22 and the recoil system is fantastic, no more than a .410. High rib, easy to clean, nice bit of weight in it. It’s given me 5-10 more years of shooting so definitely my most desirable gun. HNY👍
  10. My MK70 is particularly bad for lead and plastic fowling when using fast cartridges. I always use Phillips and find it very good. A quick squirt, leave to soak whilst cleaning the action, then rod with a tornado brush. A word of caution, it eats through the oil finish and lacquer if even the smallest amount gets on your wood and turns black polymer stocks white in an instant.
  11. I have been looking to buy a nice Gr 5 Mk38 or one of the new Gr3 mk38 adjustable when they are available next month. My pal has been trying to buy a new A400 at the same time. We have been looking to PX one mint 32” Mk38 gr1 and another almost mint MK70 gr1. I have 6 dealers which are local to me and so far the PX offers have been insulting TBH for a 2 gun deal, two dealers are not even taking in any PX guns. The lowest offer was £400 for the MK38, the same dealer had a dog Mk38 on his rack for £950. None are offering any discounts of RRP, greed has taken over. They are giving pennies on the pound for PX and wanting to maximise profits on all new sales. One of the dealers I have purchased over 20 guns of different types over the years for myself or getting friends into shooting, that meant absolutely nothing to this individual. If I was in your situation I would be looking for a nice 2nd hand option, probably off this forum or maybe guntrader if I wanted a gun immediately, if not then wait until prices start to fall. Hope that helps in some way buddy👍
  12. I work with a great number of civil servants and they are on nowhere near that sum. E,D and C grades are on less than 30k per year and like us Military types, have had no real pay rise for years. The clowns on the £100,000 salaries are the ones in Whitehall, the “upper echelons” of the civil service. The big money in the civil service is paid to contractors, an example of which is my neighbour. He is a department head of 60+ staff and earns £34500 per annum, his contractors are currently on between £500-£750 per day doing the exact same job. Surprisingly enough they leave the civil service and come back as contractors very quickly. Between my wife and I (and our 2 kids) we are comfortable but have had to cut back on all non necessities to keep us out of the red, we bought a house that could be paid for on 1 wage and the only other thing we owe for is the car. It’s pensioners I really feel sorry for, a fixed income and no way of getting extra money other than savings or equity release from their homes to heat and eat, it’s absolutely appalling. I can’t comprehend why it’s actually happening when Wales is virtually made of coal, the North Sea has years of gas but the imbeciles in charge are telling us all to “ration as there is a war on” ( new chancellor yesterday ) whilst claiming expenses to heat their stables. For the first time in my life I face the reality of having no party to back or vote for that actually gives a **** about the working masses and pensioners.

    DPD.

Agreed, all have with one exception UPS. Have a look on trust pilot and read some of the reviews on UPS Uk. If I was to throw a parcel into my local canal and hope for the best I would have more of a chance of it arriving than if I used UPS. Teague use them for some unknown reason and every delivery this year has been delayed, miss sorted or thrown into a hedge of my neighbour.
  14. Browning Midas extended chokes, black with gold band. Invector plus to fit Browning/Miroku invector plus barrels. Not sure if they fit Winchester. 1xskeet 2x1/4 1x3/8 Currently £50 each new. £25 each plus p&p (£3.99) or £75 for the lot plus p&p. This is an absolute bargain so no offers please. PM for details. Cheers.
  15. I shoot a 32” Mk38 in the summer months and in the cold season shoot my 28” MK70. The reasons for this was that I found that with extra layers of padding (Skeet vest, coat etc) the Mk38 felt like a scaffold pole and the MK70 was just right even though I have them both at 15.5 lop. I’m also 6ft 4” and I find the 32” great on the high birds and long crossers but I do struggle to get it up to speed on the rabbits. The MK70 in the summer is far too fast but in the winter on clays and walked up its lovely. Funny thing how much layers of clothing change how much you shoot. On a side note both were choked with browning Midas extended 1/4 1/2, the 32 was throwing noticeably tighter patterns To get the same patterns the 28” now has 1/4 1/2 and the 32” has Skeet 1/4

    Lead ban

Quite agree. I was out last night using RWS hyperdome lead free .177 with my buddy. Usual distance of 25-35m, he was using his HW100 and I was using my AA S510t. Neither of us could get any groupings that were any good, they were all over the place. We switched back to RWS super domes in lead and the difference is quite obvious. Both shot at 30m, the smaller group is 10 RWS superdomes, the larger group is 10 lead free hyperdomes.
  17. Millride Country Sports. Junction 1, M54. Not the best sporting layout as it’s very enclosed and too many traps, but the Skeet/ DTL layout is ok. 32p a clay. If you want a decent sporting layout, oak edge is the place.
  18. Two 1/4 + 1/4 Browning Midas Extended Invector Plus chokes Duplicated Xmas gift from the Mrs. Cost her £48.50 each in December. £50 for the pair posted or £30 separate. Please PM for details.
