To be clear (again!) I have not personally requested this. I have concerns that you’re unproven mudslinging and general demeanour are publicly damaging to our collective reputation - that is why you are being challenged.

I’ve no idea - look at their accounts or ring them up. I would certainly make certain of the facts before publicly recording wild accusations. Well……I would. You do what you like.

I don’t work for BASC - legal action won’t come from my direction. Neither am I able to allow or disallow PW content. If you enjoy whacky conspiracy theories - try Twitter. You’ll find plenty of friends there.

No actually - I was merely trying to avoid having to explain free speech transgressions because it’s quite involved - the regularly accepted limitations such as copyright violations, libel, obscenities, abusive and threatening language, hate speech, non disclosures, classified information, rights to privacy etc. etc. There are lots more. In other words free speech is fine until it can be proven to harm. Despite the fact that we all like to embrace ‘free speech’ it isn’t a catch all term to hide behind in the absence of decent behaviour. About your theories: if you wish to denigrate a legal entity such as BASC (or any other), in writing, on an open forum, that’s your risk, your choice. If you’re bringing in to question the honesty of their financial practices, when accounts are published for all to see, you may well be legally exposed. I don’t think crying ‘free speech’ will help you much if challenged. Re getting the thread locked, this is not a reasonable solution. The only reason I would like some regulation on here, is not because I wish to compromise free speech, or because I think you’re getting close to unearthing a BASC financial irregularity - I’m pretty sure there isn’t one. No, it’s simply because I’m finding the vicious BASC blame culture tedious and potentially damaging to shooting’s public profile. I think if this ugly debacle continues it will half empty PW - along with it’s add revenue budget.

That depends on many variables and aspects. Nothing is ever quite that straight forward.

I’m on to my second pair of Toggi wellies in about 20 years (mine are the neoprene lined ones). They are used a lot by the equestrian enthusiasts and stand up to a lot of punishment. I don’t know one end of a horse from the other, but the boots are great.

This all appears to be a little iffy re the dealer. Involve the police - this would be responsible action re genuine concern. They will at least trace the gun and make sure it’s all correct etc. Also, there may be sniff of fraudulent dealings. While the police aren’t likely to pursue your money, their involvement may trigger your payment (if there’s any money left). I think you’ve been remarkably patient so far. Time for action!

I was lucky enough to see a weasel killing a rabbit. I was driving very early one summer morning. I saw a rabbit sitting in the road being attacked by a seemingly small brown fast moving animal. I stopped my car and watched - no other traffic in this small country road. It turned out to be a weasel. It didn’t use one bite on the back of the neck as I had previously assumed. It used multiple bites in very quick succession. Within 5 minutes or so the rabbit had been bitten probably hundreds of times all over its body. The odd thing was the rabbit just sat there seemingly paralysed, squealing at first, then silent. Eventually the weasel dragged it off to the side of the road and down a hole. The rabbit was approx 3/4 grown, so a massive size difference. It’s hard to believe how tenacious these little creatures are.

Ha ha - that made me smile. Yes certainly overfed this one.

My words in that particular post were clearly not about any individual….. at all. Try reading it again. You’ve rather taken this out of context by dredging up a comparison post from 8 hours ago - during a time when several other members had got fed up with your behaviour. I honestly don’t know what you hope to achieve? Is there any regulation on PW at all…?

Good grief. Please read my last contribution: “Before this all kicks off again - my comments here are not directed at any single individual.” I mentioned the war - but obviously didn’t get away with it. PW at its best is marvellous, but at its worst it’s like this.

Seriously though, I do humbly apologise if I have rattled a cage here and there (unintentionally) but felt it necessary to put some of the more irrational BASC hatred under the spotlight and bring some context. Some are happy to have their views challenged, perhaps others aren’t. I do completely understand the frustrations however - as regards the very real threats to shooting. Before this all kicks off again - my comments here are not directed at any single individual. It’s like the Faulty Towers German sketch, “I may have mentioned the war but I think I got away with it.”

How does that contribute? To recognising someone’s good work in the sport is hardly patronising. Neither is holding up a mirror to repetition. I understand and share many of your frustrations - and I’m sure others do. We really have got your point thanks, i.e. those you have addressed here on PW. I feel your frustration, honestly, but I don’t think you can achieve any more now. I certainly don’t think I can add anything further - so I will leave our discussion and wish you well.

Well done - great work re shooting support, genuinely impressive! My point was, that you could have done something better with your time - rather than reiterate the same old….. all over again, and again, and again…….! We all got the point many posts ago. What is the weather like where you are?

Well…..you can actually, but there’s very little point. I think some people have an extreme opinion and when they’ve invested many hours expressing it, they refuse to acknowledge any other narrative.

Of course you have a right to question. You will find equally however others have a right to question your repetitive attacks. We get it! We know why you hate BASC. We got the gist a couple of days ago actually. Just a thought: in the time you’ve spent on this BASC hating thread you could have taken a newbie shooting and written to 10 MPs.
