  1. Not sure how things will pan out, but I have a lathe and a fair few lbs of lead I'm sure I can make my own.
  2. TX200 is very well done other springer gain from a fettle the TX was near perfect the machine finishing needed nothing.

    Cometa

I had an older Cometa years ago, fair quality worth owning, they shoot well.
  4. No3's should be good, I have found the H&N FTT's and barracuda's good in all 3 of my .25's and use H&N grizzly's in the stealth for a short range hard hitter, keep a weight around 19grns -28grns if possible less is more with springers in .25
  5. I have tryed the springers with JSB king heavys (34grn's) hard hitting but you have to shrink the range quite a bit say 20yards and under so if you want to try heavy I would say keep it 30grn's and under
  6. I use .25 all the time its now my fav calibre the hatsan that my mate ordered seemed to have a tight bore like my BSA SS carbine so best to use a light std style of pellet I use rhino's for plinking and H&N for hunting its a great calibre just shorten up your considered effective range a bit. Good you went for wood its a nicer stock.

    Back at it.

A friend had a ticketed BSA running about 15-16ftlbs good power but a bit harsh! dont recall him ever fitting a scope to it..What is the advantage to short stroking the 97k? Lock time? is the gun built for more power and in sub 12 the stroke dose not time well with a lower pounded spring? so you have like an over blast of air or wasted volume?

    Back at it.

Been shooting springer for years, there is a lot to like about them (my SS carbine is a fine squirrel gun), I think if the power is say beyond 15lbs and up then pcp come into there own, but if you want a solid fafless system thats got to be a spring gun.
  9. Quality piece there so nicely done, very very nice rifle!
  10. Agreed very nice to shoot, I have moved the gamo on as the LP3 is so much more, and I machined the piston to fit the latter seal, velocity is a bit low on these but they handle nice and shoot well, I'm not a comp shooter but love the quality of such pistols, pondering on moving on some of my more mundane pistols and getting a FAS 604 with an ampi grip and just keep the LP3 and the HW black star.
  11. Dam! there nice, I do play with a gamo compact with a very sorted trigger there not bad once this is done and an old Walther LP mod3 I use cheap pellets myself not for cost more for lack of skill! and for me its good training as I'm left handed and the pistols are not.
  12. Hatsan striker 1000x wood .25 + BSA genesys 1-4x24
  13. Well I gave them a go there a bit on the under size about 6.30 mm where as the grizzly's are about 6.33mm so run fine in the supersport carbine and well enough in the stealth at about 450fps and group around half inch at 10m for both excluding flyers.
  14. I started out with air guns but was shooting at a club with 22lr by about 11 i would go with the 22lr if ammo is cheap you way.

    Lead ban

A few season's hunting and some winter plinking you have there, have to ask how big is your airgun to need 8 tons 4 bore? 2 bore maybe? 😁

    Lead ban

Think Canada use steel shot for game so shotguns are in a way ok because there catered for, jacket rounds will have to conform to so thats all firearms my personal take is we maybe priced out of use, funny only time a minority group dont have a bunch of goons shouting down other people for us or investing in "awareness drives" must be because its guns right! However the solution needs a low price point maybe like using not full amalgamated cast iron in a plastic, hemp or coconut fiber/resin cup so it has weight and will deform and ride the bore without damage plus even in sub 12 there could be a rise in calibre to counter lack of weight but CSA will cause more drag and drop effective range etc, but yeah! hard to say think I'll go ask Elvis! y'know he liked guns too...

    Lead ban

Think a bit of rule seperation is needed, shotguns using steel ok sure more likely for the game to be sold and if so a lack of lead has been asked for but for your own pot no and as for us pop gun lovers we are so much a low key user it would be nice to have that taken account of and that the pellet/slug has to ride the bore meaning a change is not so easy same for 22lr. Copper jacket rounds without lead core ok but using steel well that becomes close to amour piercing so all copper well it would I think lack the stabillity same with alloy core you have to find something that replicates lead, go too hard its becoming an AP round go too light more unstable flight, maybe steel powder or grains? brass? basically heavy and soft?
  18. Looks alright! but I like older guns like my Diana mod 1 and Milbro bobcat there good enough junior garden plinkers and my Gamo paratrooper is even better also they have a historical value which should grow, anyhow.. my only Umarex is the Colt M4 and thou a good reproduction I dont rate them high for build quality which is a shame as they make good looking guns!

    Lead ban

think you would have a higher velocity anyhow which could make its own problems as for the nature of the ban it looks to be about use so if you shoot on land or at a club there will come issues, clubs less so due to being able to recover the lead, as a side note me and my brother used to chop up nails and cotton wrap them up to size quite effective!
  20. There well presented, boxed and set in trays and look well formed so I will be buying them again if the performance is there.
  21. 870x870x21gr divide by 450240 = about 35lbs right? 😁 nice! By the same calculations I can drive the 26.5 grn slugs around 445fps for 11.6 lbs of energy thats a good sum when you note the stealth FAC model has about 35fbs max energy driving the same weight slug upto around 770fps so by calculations a lions share of the velocity can be had with non FAC energy but reality is rarely so neat!
  22. I have been feeding the stealth with grizzly's and ranging shots 15-20 yards no problem so these with less weight will be even better, I shoot in very closed in woodland so shots beyond 25 are rare and I take that as near the outer limits for the 25's anyhow, thing is the stealth runs a very direct air path and you also imprint the rifling during loading these things I think keep the last few lbs of energy in the pellet, when I send some through the meter I could put up the velocitys if your interested?
  23. I've ordered some for the .25's around the 26grn's mark prob's better in the pcp than the springers.

    Lead ban

If it stays on track with the proposals then sure thats a doable time frame well for me anyhow I'm just not overly trusting of the powers that be, and I dont think we as a group command any political power, Im wondering in balance could sub 12 guns toy with larger calibres to trade off against lighter faster projectiles? if so I'll take that!
