  1. I can get Sellier & Bellot 139g FMJ for £61/100 locally. You should be good depending on the RFDs around you. South Yorks were happy with calibre instead of chamber, so x51, x39 or x54R or .308 were all good on the one slot. West York used to be very fussy though and I had friends who had 54R refused as their FEO insisted 7.62 was NATO
  2. Usually you need 2 ports to prove enough current to the device, probably just shy of 1A (used to be 500mA limit per port for high power devices). The splitter will have one full USB connector and one will just be for power. You could plug the power connector into another supply, like a mains USB adapter, or just extend as you need. Check the ports on the laptop you want though, some have ports dedicated to charging etc and I've seen them go as high as 1.5A, so one connector would be fine. My Samsung DVD drive runs at .94A on one port on my old Lenovo T440p without a problem, just checked it on the ammeter
  3. I'm good with the smoke control, thin light blue smoke is the norm... Mostly. I've done brisket and ribs recently and they've all been cooked great (wireless probes FTW). I do steak on a salt block too, takes a while but the results are worth it. TBH I usually end up with shop bought "hardwood", especially for the pizza oven, so it's probably of questionable quality. The oak I get is from a local joinery firm and is usually clean and burns well. I'll see if I can source some better quality stuff and not shy away from certain woods. I'd read they were bitter so assumed it was the species rather than the type I'd bought. If it works ok for you guys I'm happy to give it another go as it's a damn sight easier to get 😁 Cheers!
  4. I don't shoot game, I'm just interested as to why you wouldn't want to use a trap gun? What's the detrimental factor compared to a game gun? Cheers
  5. I don't mind them but the Mrs says they leave a bitter taste compared to when I use Oak, especially when used in the pizza oven. Have you noticed that?
  6. Hi All I've been using a manual wood smoker for a year or so and getting decent results. I'm trying to get hold of some different woods, cherry, hickory etc. Locally I can't seem to find anyone and on-line seems to be very expensive. Local retailers sell hardwood for smoking, but rarely say what type of wood it is and it tends to be beech, ash or birch as far as I can tell - none of which are great for smoking food. Just wondering if you guys have found a decent source or have suggestions on where to look. Cheers
  7. Was that direct or though a partner like Plugzz
  8. I've got a little, cheap pistol crossbow that I've had for years. At 30m the bolt was well embedded into a fence post. If you've got a decent length garden and a good target area to shoot at it could be OK. They're under £30 so just buy a second for spares

    Drones

I was just going to say the Mavic mini is worth a punt as it dodges the 250g registration limit, but you're sorted now I've been flying FPV for a few years now, but mostly race and mini drones (Tiny Whoops). Always fancied a Mavic or similar but already got too many hobbies ! Let us know how you find it
  10. Cheers guys. Might have a word at work next week, see if they have a deal with Emtec!
  11. Got a link Dave? Can't find Emetic about. Thanks
  12. They sound just what I'm after, thanks. I think I'll see if the Brum shooting show has anything on offer. How do you find them when talking etc? Would they still be good on a lesson?
  13. Do Cens discount the cost of the moulds, or would that be extra? Cheers
  14. Hi all I know this has probably been covered before, but technology and manufacturers change fairly quickly so I may as well ask for your valued opinions again. I'm currently using the Howard Leight style electronic over ear muffs. They're fine but I've noticed they can interfere with my gun mount a bit. Contemplating some passive custom fit in-ears. Prices all seem to be around £100, so I'm after experiences, fitting process, pros/cons, upgradeability etc. What do you guys shoot with and how do you find them? Cheers
  15. I think it's an 800SW Trap due to the half-round action. Not 100% though, hard to find a definitive list of models! (which is really surprising for the Japanese)
  16. The + is on the lump (possibly on the top too), so assuming both barrels were choked full pre-Teague Cheers guys Pic of the actual gun too
  17. Hi Bigbird Do you reckon your little entrepreneur would be able to make 12G pull-throughs / Bore Snakes? Just been looking at buying one, then I remembered this thread and thought she might be able to expand her product line Cheers
  18. Any idea what the plus stamp is? I've seen ++ while mooching around but no description Cheers
  19. Cheers Mick, 1971 looks right then. Can't remember what year they started dating their serial numbers to age it!
  20. Crikey, I'd better tell the wife and commemorate the momentous occasion that I was actually right 😂 She'll not believe me though That's WB1I reckon
  21. Hi all Just looking at the proof marks to (roughly) age the Miroku I acquired recently. Am I right in thinking the initial proof was 1971 -WB1, with the secondary being when it was Teague'd, in 1991 - SC1? Must have been an earlier manufacture as there's no year in the serial number that I can see. Cheers
  22. Wait... so the losers vote out the person they lost against... Seems............. un-democratic to me?
  23. Unless they can find someone with more points (ethnic minority, disabled, homosexual, non-binary etc.). If you can be called "*-ist" or "*-ic" for not voting for them they're onto a winner
