  1. Thank you, the search is now on. Anything around year 2000.
  2. I use these in both gun cabinets and all bedrooms. Used in the caravan if not using during the winter also.
  3. Maybe a cuddle, a holiday abroad and a grant towards his next venture is more likely.
  4. Which Miroku or Browning would be compatible or a straight swap for a Miroku MK70 butt other than the obvious MK70.
  5. Try something from the Buffalo windshirt range or maybe a second hand Snugpak windshirt. Not exactly jumpers as such but I found over the years they're absolutely top quality and worth every penny. If anything they're too warm. I currently have a Snugpak with the fleece removed.
  6. But they should, plus insurance and accountability to other road users.
  7. I do believe that is including rounds fired in training(in theatre). Generally more rounds fired training than in action. Nothing to do with 1 single deliberately fired round at all.
  8. Goodness me! I'm younger and can barely cover 650 Metres. 10 years ago I was still running 7 miles home from work every day. Well done to you!😎
  9. Tony Blair pardoned every IRA murderer and terrorist and invited them to England to celebrate, yet our veterans still live and sleep on the streets. Politicians lie, cheat, feather their own nest and then become Sir. Having supervised police on an electric target range I can honestly say I've seen Army cadets have less NDs and better handling skills.
  10. Yes, incredible. Yet in Japan where owning any gun and I belive any knife other than "Kitchen" is illegal:
  11. I think lack of education is a major fact with most of the population when it comes to something that they are not involved with at a personal level.
  12. Ammo choice can be critical if you don't want to fire single shots. Mine prefers 42grain Eley subs. As for magazines, as long as they are cleaned and lightly oiled even cheap brands like Eagle at Β£10 are ok. Just must be clean.
  13. Really? I would say at least 99%+ think they are but that would be another thread completely.

    Bee sting

Reading the title, I thought you'd done something wrong again πŸ˜€ On a serious note, you can buy some bite and sting relief spray in a type of pen form. I keep one in my car and one in my bag all year round. 2x Xpel Mosquito Insect Fly Bite Adult & Kids Repellent Tropical PEN Spray https://amzn.eu/d/70KYqjb Hope you get better soonπŸ€•
  15. That alone is worth paying a premium for.
  16. I really don't know, I would presume they volunteer for armed jobs in the same way as they volunteer for dogs, CID, traffic etc. It would then become part of the job. Isn't it a little like a traffic cop refusing to drive in case he gets caught speeding? Yes, all branches of the military are required to have a least a basic knowledge of firearms, usually delivered in basic training but in a lot of cases never again seen.
  17. Wot? Not global warming?🀣🀣
  18. HM Forces for decades have faced this. Charged with murder or other charges for doing what they considered right at the time. Years later for political or other reasons, including public opinion, charged and convicted regardless of circumstances at the time. No member of the forces refuses to serve on these grounds.
  19. Weight is a major issue for me. I've done away with hide poles and use either standing wood or bushes, use dead or fallen, permanent hides where appropriate or tie up net with string. My walking stick sometimes doubles as a hide pole. I carry the smallest net I think I can manage with, currently reusing an old army net that screws up into a small ball. I sit on an old fishing unhooking mat, again it balls up small. My problem is getting up once I'm down. Water is shared between me and the dog, an army water bottle. Small personal 1st aid kit and a tobacco tin with kendal mint cake sealed inside. Secateurs, small folding saw. 50(ish) cartridges, sometimes less. Flapper and Ultralight battery, 1 full bodied crow OR 2 or 3 pigeon half shells. 5 bird cradles. Depending on distance, gradient I miss out some of this. Phone, whistle, torch, CFGs and a very small towel or cloth. Clothing to suit the day and that's about it. If I think I need binos I now use a monocular which is 8x magnification and about thumb sized. Obviously if my son is with me I take more, including a comfy seat.😁
  20. That's only for us peasants the rich are exempt, same as they're exempt rules and the next pandemic.
  21. That's my point, it's like my father in law used to say, "Things'll have to change, it'll either rain or go dark before morning".
  22. My lad runs a 21 plate hi lux on off road tyres. 32psi performs best all round in his opinion. Any higher gets a loose/floating back end empty. I think the recommended was 33F 36R for load/speed. Isn't there a plate pop riveted into the door telling you?
  23. Methinks that in situations like this, you need to see both sides. Most rangers are unpaid volunteers with little or no training other than in the basics of things like first aid and giving directions and advice to the general public. Probably harassed by his supervisor telling him to get all dogs on leads(regardless of the law) and the public letting 90% of dogs run wild with little control. He sees yet another dog off lead and asks yet again. Is then met with someone who can not only control his dog but knows a little about the countryside he's, flustered and begins bluffing and blustering instead of just going away. Sometimes, it's just easier for both sides to back down and leave it alone. Things escalate so quickly and strong words can lead to a loss of licence or liberty. Put the dog on a lead, let the ranger go on his way happy and then let the dog off. Most rangers are used to dealing with townies, walking the moors in high heels, pushing perambulators and wishing they were back home watching the latest edition of which z list celebrity tupping who live on whichever moron TV chanel is on next. Surely as regular countryside users we're better than this?
  24. An interesting channel if like me you like to do your own work.
