  1. Maybe we're just bowing to the minority view again, to comply with their/them/they/who/what opinion of what's right.
  2. Never ever have I seen anyone hit centre. It just doesn't happen, ever. You must surely be referring to a figure 11 target. Absolutely
  3. Up untill retiring I had R2 on in my lorry all the time. I think it went downhill when Jimmy Young left and jeremy whine took over. Most of my drivers referred to him as CD time. Since retiring I've found a commercial station with music I like, it let's a couple of records play in full, a bit of inane babble then music again. News every hour but it's only available on digital. Fortunately it plays in my car. I think it's called Magic, I just leave the radio tuned into it. RIP anything BBC.
  4. I watched that Madeley fella interview him this morning and he's seen in advance the programme so he said. He asked Packham if he was prepared to be indited for incitement for his comments to be seen tonight. He also said C4 was keeping tonight's episode close to the chest and refusing to allow previews or comments despite presenters having previewed it. I'll not be watching tonight mainly cos it's long after my bedtime and cos I'd not give him the satisfaction of viewing figures which is what he's after. No doubt anything radical will be in the news tomorrow.
  5. £20 my own GP, took over a month, cash only, no cards. I had to fill in the form, he signed and stamped it. Same area differant surgery, outright refusal for a friend.
  6. Mods: Extended magazine release, extended bolt holding open/release. Silicone buffer for working parts. Never found a need to modify the trigger but then again I can shoot. To avoid gas stoppages, clean it. No idea of the plastic stock versions as mine is wood. I agree with the above on hunting, especially over 25 - 30 yards. For more accuracy get a bolt action. Mine is accurate on open sights to 30 yards. Accurate on telescopic to 50 yards. At ranges over that you have to compensate for drop. Generally mine is only used on the range just to keep my hand/eye in.
  7. Mine is 3 secs flap, 4 secs rest. You can speed up the flap. I find a slow flap better for pigeons, but am prepared to alter to suit. As I said previously, with me it's all about what I can carry. It's essentials only regardless of need. Recce is absolutely essential as is position as I often use no net.
  8. I've been experimenting this year due to being unable to carry weight any more, either no decoys or maybe 3 half shells max. Some days it works, some days I fail miserably. The one thing that consistently works is a flapper once i have the first bird. I also use a max of 5 cradles sometimes, depending on distance to walk. If only we knew why as MM says we'd know as much as a pigeon.

    Paper Work

Can't give you a definitive answer in law, I have mine going back about 45 years. Before that I didn't consider them important and don't remember them.
  10. I use fibre cos I hate seeing little plastic wads all over and don't wish to contribute to the mess, that includes clay grounds. Ballistically hopeless? I think not.
  11. My regiment not being known for drill or even its turnout it's one of the things I never considered. It was always a talking point if bayonets would ever be needed or used again. The current bayonet is a poor quality badly balanced "knife" with other uses. A leatherman multi tool is a more useful item to carry. I just can't imagine a Gaurds regiment on parade with moderators fitted, it doesn't go with the image. Perhaps it's a time for pageantry to return to wooden furniture on a more traditional looking rifle, a Lee Endfield or even a Baker?😁
  12. Top talent, they look so real
  13. This thread is not about killing or injury. It was posted for opinions of the New British Army rifle. I thought it maybe of interest to veterans of all three services and to those who have an interest in rifles in general. A different review:
  14. Isn't that true though of every skill we have, everything is perishable if not practiced regularly.
  15. Unfortunately that's the view of a huge portion of the non shooting population when it comes to guns and I might add other types of field sport. I remember two Army officers coming to blows over that very subject. One owned a revolver and semi the other was totally anti gun.
  16. From what I remember of VW beetles they never needed a rust wrap, it came as standard

    KOFS

Teal chokes do extended also Beware of all aftermarket KOFs as they're not always suitable for KOFs barrels. KOFs barrels differ from gun to gun and even two barrels on the same gun might not accept the same choke.
  18. 👍 thank you, to be honest, I expected more
  19. Incidently, on my perm for crow, it's daybreak and last light or it's just stragglers. Neither time I'm allowed to shoot. Mid afternoon for pigeon.
  20. Because it mentions crow not pigeon and some mods are pedantic with moving threads on corvid. Pigeon Watch 😁
  21. Plus medical and dental treatment free.
