  1. Not a big dog like a lab? My labs not really any bigger than a decent sized springer spaniel. You do get some really petite ones sometimes. Some breed lines breed a bigger heavier dog where others may be a bit on the smaller, leaner side.
  2. Any opportunity to gather information is welcome... While I'm not one to put on the tinfoil hat, that part of the statement sounds rather orwellian to me
  3. Came home from school to that many a time. All is missing is the 3 big heavily buttered slices of bread
  4. The Scottish guy on the bottle is supposed to be Major General Hector Macdonald "fighting mac" his is a hell of a story if you like a bit of victorian military history

    First cut

Bottom of my garden is going to be getting a boat load of sand and some topsoil...then some seeding. Its a literal swamp at the minute after the rain we have had since last October. There's just no way I can get a cut at mine yet. If it doesn't give me a couple of dry days this week I'm going out to strim it all down to give me a fighting chance once it does dry up a bit
  6. Hes bin wheelie wheelie quiet... he's hunting wabbits!! One of the best things I ever saw was in some shooting magazine were a guy with mobility issues had converted a 2nd hand electric golf buggy into a camouflaged mobile pigeon hide for getting around the stubbles
  7. Only found in tests done after her surgery. Almost sounds like they found pre-cancerous cells as her chemo treatment is described as preventative chemo. Maybe people will give her some privacy now that it is in the open, but with how the media vultures behave I doubt privacy will be given. Hope she makes a full recovery

    Sleeping bat

I thought "sleeping bat" was another name for the cricket bat you keep by your bed to welcome burglars into your home. We don't see so many bats around my way these days, one of the country lanes I would walk used to be full of them at dusk. Lovely animals
  9. I'm a big fan of a good fish finger sandwich. I think you can do a lot worse than the frozen battered/breaded fish cooked up with some homemade chips and peas and a goodly amount of heavily buttered bread!

    Hilarious!

Some things should be reserved for conversation among like minded friends and not belted out in public where it could be read into in any number if different ways. What happened to the old "sticks n stones" rhyme though? I really doubt she's cowering away in her room afraid to move over that guys words
  11. Anyone want to start taking bets on how long the mods let this thread run for? I'm just noticing how far we are wondering off into the rhubarb
  12. "Israel invaded land occupied by Palestinians" That all depends how far back in history you want to go. Jews, Christians and the Romans were occupying them lands before Islam arrives as an invading force in around 600CE(ish). So I wouldn't be too quick to talk about Jewish invasions
  13. Unlike the Israeli hostages they aren't likely to be shot/beheaded/raped to death in a minging basement. They at least have a chance of living. One thing Netanyahu said that I thought was interesting, something along the lines of "if this hamas atrocity had happened to the USA, what does the world think their response would be?"

    Whisky

I was given a bottle of The Macallan 10yr old single malt for my birthday in 2008 or 2009, opened it and started to have a few. These days the same bottle unopened is worth nearly a grand according to a quick Google price search. Was bought to me by a late friend and I never brought myself to finish the bottle after he passed, the stuff has probably gone bad by now😒
  15. 100% this, a lot of thin layers are better than a couple of thick ones. Try out a runners cold weather base layer as well. Very light and never usually too expensive, also designed to quickly wick away sweat to stop the wind chill after some exertion
  16. Years ago I emailed baikal directly regarding my gun, same as yours but the older o/u double trigger non ejector model. Gave them the serial number and I was actually emailed back with all its details, year of manufactuer an all. Not sure how an email to a Russian arms manufacturer would go these days considering the current state of affairs over that way
  17. From what I'm aware the dispensing gas is nothing to do with the breweries themselves, unless its a special type of pumping equipment. The brewery will deliver the product in the big silver kegs and then a company like BOC will deliver the dispensing cylinders. this was about 6yrs ago I reckon, the guy i done the job for had taken over the restaurant and the gas cylinder just happened to be left lying there.... you would be surprised how many old pubs and restaurants are about with these cylinders just left there. They are rented cylinders but the contract just dies off when the business goes bankrupt so not worth the money and effort to recover them. Cylinders for beverages contain different gasses depending on what they are dispensing. Some are straight up carbon dioxide, for dispensing things like coca cola and some are a combination of carbon dioxide and (I think) nitrogen. I think that's for beverages that are smoother or less fizz to it, like Guiness etc. The addition of nitrogen renders it no good for welding. This was just me being lucky and most auto spares businesses now deal with companies like hobbyweld and unless you REALLY need the carbon/argon mix or argon for tig then straight co2 option is the best value for money.... that would be my option if I didn't get lucky with the cylinder I think the OP would be best looking in the local motor factors rather than the websites, they will be able to make it more clear
  18. I was lucky enough to do a small welding job for a restaurant and as payment he gave me a spare CO2 bottle that was lying around. I just also happened to know a guy who will fill it for me on the quiet 🤫 Might be an avenue worth exploring with your local pub
  19. I was following the flow of traffic and as I crossed the white line I saw the ambulance coming from the right, only then did I hear it, they don't always have sirens on, generally only to warn what's in their way. I also had a guy right up my chuff so I didn't fancy him occupying the back seat if I slammed on the brakes 😆 Well on a brighter note, the replacement arrived today, went for a VW Tiguan. Nice comfy wee bus
  20. This one was a recon unit and one criticism I've heard about the companies rebuilding them is they balance the CHRA but then don't balance it in its own casing. Possibly this is the case and the bearings have died. It just went all of a sudden with no warning, just gave the car some pedal to get out the way of the ambulance and boof, all boost gone and wind just howling through it. Didn't even trail black smoke or use oil on the limp back home. I would take the time to put a new one in if they weren't so damn awkward to get at, the mechanic that fitted this one nearly 3 years ago told me you can't take it off on its own, the inlet manifold has to come out with the turbo attached and then split them on the bench. I just cba with it now 😒
  21. Sorry for your loss, sounds like the old boy had a great life, full of love and sport.
  22. Didnt bother to try and check, it's a nissan qashqai and they are an absolute pain to get at to remove the turbo, that's the 2nd turbo it's blown. Didn't throw any smoke or anything when I limped it home. Can't decide if it's somehow ingested something or if the shaft has let go in the middle. Coupling the cost of another turbo and the work required for the MOT it's going to the knackers yard and hopefully its replacement is coming by the weekend.... means I'm now back in the hole of car finance 🙄
  23. This was the end result of me going across a junction and having to put the boot down to get out of the way of an ambulance that came flying through the red lights with the blue lights on. If you have ever looked inside a turbo then you know they shouldn't look like this. ☹️
  24. This has just reminded me I haven't had much of a chance to shoot this season even though I now have access to a nice little flight pond 🙁 Beautiful photo though. Isn't it amazing how things like that can make you just stop and stare

    Really?

One thing to look into if you want NHS dentistry is to find out where your local "school of dentistry" is and let the students have at you. Over here in Northern Ireland it's based at the RVH in Belfast and most treatment is free or a small nominal fee. If my local dentist doesn't take me on as an NHS patient again then that's where I'm headed to.
