If you’re not a label snob, decathlon do some fantastic wallet friendly offerings. The sizes aren’t what I’d say standard so I’d go to a store to try them on first.

Hopefully someone will pattern test these when they’re out and bung it on YouTube, TGS and NH have done some fantastic videos on steel and the new ammo.

The gun shop I use said they’re v similar but one has a higher comb height(ie better for youngsters to stop them canting their head over). Off memory the Kofs has the higher comb but don’t quite me.

Not according to the guy I spoke to at eley, their website also states as long as your gun is nitro proofed you’re good to go. The none Eco wad states fluer di lis but not the eco wad.

That’s not what I said. Ideal as a second gun as it would get less use. More accurately I could of said it won’t stand the same level of use a steel action gun would without showing a higher level of wear.

My son cut his teeth on the 28bore youth version. I’ve shot it and it’s a lovely gun now owned by a friend. The wood was outstanding. The visible internals were clearly made to a price, the only trouble we had was the occasionally difficulty ejecting larger carts. I wouldn’t hesitate but understand the action is alloy so might not be as long lasting as a steel action.

I'm in agreement, he's happy as is but showing an interest. Imo as long as he's keen to tieup his laces in the cold and come out then that is the result I'm after.

Probably, being young and sponge like I hope he makes the transition, a different sight plane and double triggers will be a learning curve.🤓

Put to good use last Saturday with 30g 6's(its all I had in) two for two.....sadly it went downhill from there. I should get some lighter carts as the 12 y/o is eyeing it up.

Had a Hunter Hawk 4 in my old house for 12 years, burnt all sorts on it. For a cheapie it done what was asked and would stay in all night, one bad yr I ran it for a few months non stop and only kept the rads on in the bedrooms. The current tenant has damaged the back plate by not siting it correctly after cleaning it. I’d have another without question but my current house has a back boiler and would cost a fortune to change(one for the near future). I have a Esse 5kw sat in my garage ready. I’d cleanup the brickwork, repoint and seal it.

I have two SxS, one is a Zabala steel proof'd for wildfowling that didn't cost me a great deal and is as such a tool. The other is my Gunmark (Arrieta) Viscount 12 bore(pictured). Choked 1/4 and 1/2 28" barrels , it would have to be some life changing event to make me part with it. It fits like a glove and I've had some fantastic days with it and hopefully many more to come I did flirt with a single trigger AYA XXV Churchill for a season, a beautiful gun but too short in the stock and I was too inconsistent and it had the habit of randomly double discharging so I got shot of it. I'm trying to convince the youngest lad(12) to convert to a SxS but he's taking some convincing....I might hunt out a cheap project for him an hope that sparks his enthusiasm, it would have to have a raised rib to bridge the gap in his mind.

I’ve fired a box of 36g 1’s through it fairly quickly, handled it no probs.

I’ve got a zabala 89mm chamber proofed to what yours is, mines steel proofed though. I’ll dig it out n see what other info beyond the stamps are on it. I’m sure it would be fine.

If Usyk can take the punch power or more accurately avoid it, he wins. A big if, AJ has to make the weight advantage pay without gassing. he’s a similar weight to last time out but around a stone heavier than against Ruiz the second time round. Good to see the conduct at the weigh in, classy!

I’m with ref to Eley pro eco wad steel shells, I had a call off one of their guys after enquiring about their use in my Arrieta sxs. He said they’re fine for use as it’s proofed for Nitro, end of story. Nitro is usually 3 1/4tonne off the top of my head? I think mine is 1200lb, why not standardise the units of measure 🤯 However someone earlier mentions gamebore 32 3’s, I have a box(I have a steel proofed gun also) and the box contradicts itself. On one hand states must be used with a gun proofed at 3 1/4per tonne, then, it must be steel proofed and it’s HP steel. as an industry it’s laughable, anyone with any involvement in H&S can see it’s a minefield and should be standardised immediately, along with proof ratings of various units of measure required printed on the box for anyone unable to do the conversion. I understand the adage if in doubt don’t use it but given the confusion it can/would happen.

I've not heard BJS after the fight yet, it goes two ways, retirement from injury or rematch(I hope so to put the fight to bed). DD does deserve an apology certainly and BJS should of known better than to say what he did but the mouth of boxers building up themselves or upcoming fights it seems knows no bounds. BJS is no doubt talented but lacking a concussive punch to swing with the top top fighters or at least keep them at bay, he was looking good up to that point though.

You don't need to heat them, make sure they're the right size for the boot. I've put them on Altbergs, Itturis, Karrimors no issue and no heat. Fit the toe in as far as possible then turn the front of the gaiter inside out so it has a lip you can grab and sits on the laces area....pull the whole gaiter rearwards so you can get on the heel section. Once that's in place grab the front and stretch and peel the front over the toe. There's a few things you can do to keep it in place ie double sided sticky tape or glue the **** however that makes it an issue to clean/dry the boot. I've found you need to get rid of the front thin strap on the sole section if using a random boot as I have above and possibly doctor the sole slightly as the gap between the fore and rear section on boot is often too narrow for the large strap. They are great if used in the right weather, I find I ended up wet anyway through perspiration unless it was below freezing. There's a few vids on youtube that show the method as described above, don't get me wrong it is a ballache and you need a strong grip.

Have you bought it to live in or an investment property? That would be my first indicator of how far I’d be pushing the budget for works and what I’d be prepared to put up with if the house was for me. Depending how much work the walls needed i’d be insulating them, take out the sash and eBay them. Bung in a reasonable combo and a multi fuel. Worry about future proofing later/someone else’s problem. If it was for renting, I’d spend the bare min as most likely some feckless tit will ruin the hard work.

Prepare for the worst, hope for the best. If it truly is over then as has been said treat it as a financial transaction and get on with your life, easy to say, hard to do but things quickly improve. Good luck with it.

Gents, thank you for the continued contribution. I decided to pass on the gun and bought a Zabala 3 1/2" chamber SxS Steel proofed for not a great deal more. I cannot for the life of me see any marks to show what model and after having a quick google I assume the company has gone bump. Great condition and it takes Beretta chokes should I need spares. Is there a website I could check the serial number against? Thanks
