  1. Mine has it too, made in 1998,look up the serial number on the database to find out exactly.
  2. Nothing spotted in South Wales yet, never usually see them until mid April in recent years, was earlier as I remember many years ago!
  3. Over £150 to buy new equivalents today!
  4. Wow,a real bargain there, sorry you’re 350 miles away! Would be worth more to me! Should go very quickly.
  5. £65 for 6 months is very cheap! My standing charge alone is more than that. Mine is £115 for 6 months including standing charge, and I use little water at 70 litres a day.
  6. I can only say what I use,and different water regions have different prices. My standing charge is £151 a year, and I am living alone using 25 units a year on average which is 25,000 litres. So about 70 litres per day. Each 1000 litres costs £3.40 which includes the cost of sewerage waste,(less if a septic tank is used) Here you have up to 2 years to trial a meter and can change back if you want. But it’s really a no brainer, even with 3 in a house it is about half the unmetered charge. To equal the unmetered charge I would have to use 6 times as much water as I do.
  7. Seriously consider a water meter! Free fitting I believe and pay a £150 a year standing charge plus £3.40 per 1,000 litres used. That’s our charge anyway, comes to £230 a year altogether instead of about £680 unmetered.
  8. £50 a week! Terrible lot for one person, sounds like a biggish property though, possibly band F? Think it would cost more in Wales, though houses are worth less!
  9. It was a better system in my opinion, every adult over 18 contributed for the council services instead of just the householder!
  10. That must be about the dearest council in England! Band F here will be £3,305 here and that’s bad enough! House values are greater in Bristol though.
  11. That’s a much lower cost than my band B of £1,780! Also my house is probably only half the value of yours at £120,000.It’s ridiculous here, gone up from under £300 a year to £1780 in 30 years while wages have merely trebled!
  12. I’d prefer 4.9% to our 7.95% increase ! 😊Some areas are 10% or more.
  13. Bit cheaper down Cwmbran way I think? Band D here,worth about £175,000- £260,000 is now £2280 a year!
  14. Just had my latest bill, band B house worth about £120,000, council tax £1778.-25% single occupancy £1333! Up 7.95% on last year. Now 10% of total income,Yet the owners of £1million+ London houses paying under £1,000 a year. No doubt there are some bills higher with similar low value homes?
  15. I’m wondering if premiums have gone up partly because of used car values having increased so much. I got a quote today for my car and it showed the value as over £5,900 when it was worth rather less a few years ago. I can still get comprehensive insurance with £200 excess and protected bonus for under £200 a year.
  16. Now Sunak has done it, only worse now!
  17. Definitely seems that making money from motorists is the only thing the police put their effort into. All about making money with no real investigations required.
  18. Very crafty by the Tories to cut National insurance so that the low paid don’t gain,or pensioners! Only those working and under 66,the bigger earners gaining more of course, typically Tory, the rich get richer. Need thresholds up not National insurance down,so most get a small gain!
  19. Mine was a 26” barrel, bought it in an auction in 1998 for £38.Sold for £80 a few years ago.Didn’t use it much, but being light it did recoil and flip a bit. Solid steel guns from a time of quality manufacturing.
  20. Did you have to have the choke removed before using slugs? My GP had 30+thou of choke and I imagine that’s a bit much, and would upset the accuracy of rifled slugs?
  21. I had one,a 1970 model, and remember I had too pull the lever all the way when screwing on the barrel. Not sure about the loose stock, but maybe a bolt under the butt plate. The empties only eject when the lever is flicked all the way.
  22. I remember him well, I was once at a 100 bird sporting shoot near Norwich, about 1981, watched him shoot a couple of stands in front of me.Wally Sykes was also shooting! Rip Paddy.
  23. I had a 28 inch Miroku 3700 black action,bought new in 1978,cost me £360 then!
