Sounds like them turning up 3 times isn't particularly lazy. As for the stupid part, that is very subjective.

As for a fact, the officers are already salaried and the portion of their year to visit is already paid and covered, so I doubt it's a vast cost.

Anyway, what really interests me is "someone was not detained under the mental health act when his custody record gives reason for arrest as mental health". You are detained or arrested. I assume you are using the vernacular of detention as meaning arrested for a moment as you then mention arrest reason, as when an officer detains someone it is typically for something preliminary such as as a drug search. I digress.... the reason for arrest? So now we are going into PACE code G. A reason, or necessity of arrest, falls into one of these:

    a) Ascertain the persons name
    b) Ascertain the persons address
    c) Prevent physical harm to self or another or suffering physical injury
    d) Prevent loss of or damage to property
    e) Prevent an offence against public decency
    f) Prevent an unlawful obstruction of the highway
    g) Protect a child or vulnerable person
    h) Prevent any prosecution being hindered by the disappearance of the person in question
    i) Allow a prompt and effective investigation of the offence or of the conduct of the person in question.

I assume from your words that we aren't talking about c), so if your written reason for necessity is mental health we can rule out s24 arrests. Also we can rule out statute law that has its own protected power of arrest, as this would be labelled as preserved power.

This can only lead us to s136 of the Mental Health Act. I don't know when this arrest took place but a police station should never be used as a place of safety unless there's either immediate risk to life or injury, or if there is no better option. It has been this way for a number of years, and if there is not a crisis suite that is equipped available, then A&E is the only place you'd be taken. Also this now makes the "detain" portion correct, as you are detained under 136 of MHA, but you aren't arrested so I don't follow how you could have a reason for arrest. Unless.... it's a proforma, then you need to fill boxes. Therefore detained 136 MHA, and reason for arrest would be mental health even though it wasn't an arrest.

Anyone that was showing signs of being that volatile they needed emergency powers under 136 MHA would say that there's some smoke to their fire, and that there's a lot more to this story. There's 3 versions of this truth. Your side, their side, and the actual full truth.

As for the FEO, from your words it sounds like he got angry and shouty, and needed officers to hold him back? So in essence you had a s5 public order act offence or maybe a s4a? I assume you didn't fear violence against you as officers held him back, so it's not affray. I would agree it would be a waste of taxpayers money for that to go to court for something getting a bit angry and sweary at you whilst not being able to come near you. I am glad you are happy with the apology and hopefully the FEO will learn to hold their temper.

Regardless. I hope whomever it was that was detained is feeling better, and has all the resources they require to either get back to full health or are already there.

I hope that helps clarify, and I can only go on the words you have written without taking a breath of punctuation. I hope I didn't misinterpret any of your written words. Keep safe.

    You just committed murder 😂😂

  2. I bought an LG Oled C something or other, once I got over the shock of how thin it was and no nailsed it to the wall, I was stunned. I’m not a big telly watching fan, but some of the pictures I casually glance at are unreal. The youngest grandson is a big fan of the Lion King film, the CGI one and the detail is ridiculous. There’s moisture on the lion’s gums and the whiskers are something to behold. Blueray films are stunning, as is the football and rugby.

I honestly believe I see things clearer on the screen, than I do in real life, if that makes sense.

Would readily recommend an LG Oled. They have them on in Currys so you can see for yourself and they’ve got a sale on, with £ 100 off most models at the moment. Ours is set on the showroom setting, so it’s at its optimum level.

Anyone know how accurate regarding ‘steps’ the health app is, which is already installed in each iPhone?
According to mine, I did 15,871 steps whilst beating yesterday, which is pretty consistent with other days, and OH can do over 10k waiting on, and her mother told her one of the nurses attending her in hospital did over 14k in a shift.

In this interests of research, I’ve just conducted a highly sophisticated experiment.

Having just done 6 steps on the treadmill, I can confirm the iPhone pedometer is accurate to within 1 step.

So realistically you have a truck that’s done

32.000 miles and you know what it’s like and how it copes with the extreme’s of weather that you experience in your area

you ar considering changing it for a secondhand van that’s probably done more miles and maybe it’ll get you to the shoot on a bad weather day

unless you’re having problems with the truck I wouldn’t bother changing

    just my thoughts

The engine’s done 32,000 the axles, transmission, steering, body and electrics etc. have probably all done 138,000.

I can see the solution as can 99% of the British population, so why are we powerless to stop them? I'm looking forward to times when a bunch of locals sail out and take the law into their own hands, like the people pulling those ****** off the road while the Police, who are being paid to remove them, stand and watch.

It’s almost like there’s a reason the police stand and watch…….🙄

  6. Me and my pal had our first trip overseas on Saturday, from Chester to Fauxdegla. We left the girls at the hotel in Chester and set off for Wrexham.

First impressions were a mix of being impressed and a little daunted too. As novices from Manchester, we’re not quite used to the scenery, nor the impeccable appearance of a premier ground. Everything was tidy and new looking, grassed areas all neat, no litter, just a very well looked after ground.

We bought our clays, £ 30 per 100 which is cheaper than we’re used to. Got loads of advice and instruction from the lady owner. She introduced herself and her husband, who was as equally helpful as his wife. I have read previous posts where they were described less favourably, I honestly could not fault them. We spoke to them throughout the day, in the cafe, when topping up our clay cards and when seeking advice regarding the DTL and Skeet stands and they genuinely couldn’t do enough to help. The ground lads were great too, Adam in particular was super helpful.

The only down side was the sun, which can’t be helped. It rendered half the sporting layout impossible until the afternoon, but there’s so much else to go at, it really doesn’t matter.

We went through 400 carts between us and had a cracking time. It’s only 1.5 hours from us, well worth the trip.

We’ll definitely be going again soon.

  7. To see anything with any clarity and detail, there’s no cheap fix. I was a stargazer for a couple of months and bought a Celestron Starsense explorer, that connected to my phone, to allow sky mapping. This worked like satnav, where arrows would point to Saturn, (for example) on my phone, which was physically attached to the scope. Move the scope in the direction of the arrows and bingo, there was Saturn.

I paid £ 400 for that scope and never saw anything but the moon’s craters. Astronomy isn’t easy, it’s hard enough landing on a clay 50 yards away, hitting a planet millions of miles away is a nightmare and unless you’re prepared to spend time and money on it, it’ll leave you disappointed.

Id look at the second hand market, more scope for your money. A refractor is the best for beginners.

Its sad people have died but now theres another nail in the coffin of our sport, it will get twisted and blown out of proportion

How does the murder of a three year old child, get blown out of proportion ?

This looks like a horrific incident, where several, innocent people have been callously murdered, our thought should be with them. The impact on our hobby is quite insignificant at this time.

Nice that you dedicated five words to the victims though.

A word from someone who Knows  -- Nothing less than Deet and no thin clothing is effective when they are out at Worsley🤣🤣:whistling:

Like I said, lesson learnt. It’ll be boiler suit over chainmail in future 😂😂

  10. I had a trip to Worsley on Friday morning, for my first attempt at a solo shoot. As I pulled up in the car park, a fella warned me about the horse flies and that I was gonna regret the shorts and t-shirt.
I went and signed in, got my clay card and was again warned, “the flies are like piranhas lately, you need some deterrent”.
I bought some Avon Skin Soft off them, more to be polite than anything and give myself a modest douse with it, I didn’t  fancy going home to the wife, smelling of Avon cosmetics, so didn’t go mad.
    I came away unscathed.

Fast forward to Saturday. I went again, with a pal and his daughter. I passed on the local knowledge, and I again gave myself a cursory spraying.

11 I’ve got, great big angry, ridiculously itchy, rock hard lumps, all on covered parts of my body. They got me through my clothing, big daft slow flying horse flies. I’ve never had so many insect bites in one day, not even on a red flag day in the Everglades.

    Absolutely horrific.

So anyone heading to Worsley, slather yourself up, the guys on the car park and the folks in the shop aren’t exaggerating.

    Lesson learnt.

  11. Thanks for the replies. I’m not looking to get into “the bead” debate, I don’t know enough about it. So I’ll remove em in the way that’s been advised and crack on with my coaches methodology, it seems to be working thus far.
I can always put em back on at a later date, once Ive got my own system locked down.
The fella I see is a CPSA coaching instructor and an ICSI member, so knows a bit more than me at this stage.

    Once again, cheers !
