Hi, I've had the gun out the cabinet and checked the barrels...cant see anything like you described, so I assume they're not steel proofed. I hope this helps. Thanks

Hi, I've looked through the manual and cant find any reference to it. Would there be anything on the barrels to indicate they were steel proofed? So the answer is that I'm not sure. It's a lot of gun for a couple of hundred quid though. Sorry I cant be more help.
