  1. Thanks for the suggestion Cushat. Will take a look.
  2. Yep....I’ve read the same but as I said does it not come under Primary Producer exemption to supply in small quantities as I’ve outlined in my OP? pasted from your link Primary Producer Exemption There is an exemption from the above rules when supply involves small quantities of in-fur/in-feather carcasses supplied either direct to the final consumer and/or to local retailers that directly supply the final consumer. In the UK these terms are currently being interpreted as follows: Small quantities are now regarded as self-defining because demand for in-fur/in-feather carcases from final consumers and local retailers is limited. Local is within the supplying establishment’s own county plus the greater of either the neighbouring county or counties or 50 kilometres/30 miles from the boundary of the supplying establishment’s county. Direct supply to the final consumer is notrestricted by what is local. An individual or an estate can supply final consumers who order from them via the internet/mail order, as well as those who collect themselves.
  3. There may be good reason why I don’t see venison offered whole in the pelt except at fur & feather auctions but I’m quite handy in the kitchen and have skinned and butchered a fair few deer in my time so would like to ‘hunt’ one down and buy a deer carcass in the pelt direct from a stalker. I appreciate the norm is to supply venison in pelt to game dealers for onward supply but I don’t see why they should get a cut if I’m happy to process the whole animal and wandered whether a trained stalker with DSC1 can supply direct to end user/consumer, dressed and in the pelt? Legislation suggests that it is permissible under Primary Producer exemption supplied in small quantities to either retailers or final consumer. If this is the case then I’d like to buy a healthy deer, that was clean shot in season, with good legs all round that I can process at home. A medium fallow would be ideal or a roe, Chinese. Going /kg rate paid in cash. Looking to buy from a reputable stalker in Cambs/Beds for personal consumption only. TIA Chris
