Cheers mate. So you wouldn’t advise lamping rabbits ? Just be patient and well prepared I guess. I can’t wait to get back out there I will get one at some point haha

Hi guys.
been out to try shoot some rabbits this evening. No luck atall, really underestimated the ******* haha. I’m looking for some tips I’m new to this 😂 I’ve got permission in a field. I found loads of warrens and even sore two rabbits but the bolted before I got anywhere close to them. I did love being out even though I got nothing. Would love some tips if anyone has any.
thank you 😊

Hi Louis
if the rifle was deactivated before I believe 2016 it would be the old style ie- The action works
it is illegal to sell, loan or gift
has to be surrendered to RFD for either correct deactivation or destroyed
(you can’t legally keep it unless it’s the newer deactivated )
the new deactivated firearms are welded so don’t work.
also the latest update 2020 you have to notify the home office that you have a deactivated firearm ( no cost involved)
hope that helps
Dean
That’s brilliant thank you. I will check the paper work for the deactivation and will get it correctly deactivated if needs be. I can’t bring myself to lose it so whatever it takes. I have notified the home office that I have the gun in my possession. So we are all good there 👍

Louis unfortunately you can’t, you have to submit it to a RFD to store it or have it deactivated to current standards if it’s deactivated to old spec ( eg the action cycles )
Hi modafinale. Sorry don’t quite understand what you mean. Are you saying I can’t have it reactivated? Bit of a pain if not 😔 I’m happy to have it deactivated to current standards and report to home office that it is under my possession. That would be okay wouldn’t it ? So confusing all these laws. Thanks for your help though pal appreciate it.

Thank you for the info guys 👍🏻 I won’t be selling it was just curious. I will keep the gun for display because it’s a gorgeous looking gun. I will in the future look at getting it deactivated if possible with following all the right laws and regulations. Appreciate it guys 😊

It was my grandfathers. He was fanatical about gun safety and following the law. Very good shot in his day too. I think it was something to do with the laws changing and him not having an appropriate certificate for it. I know I wish it wasent deactivated 😅

Thank you. Do you happen to know what it worth ? Deactivated

Thank you everyone 😀 love hearing the comments. It will be a much loved and looked after air rifle. It was my grandads who sadly passed a few years back, shot all his life. I think duck shooting was his favourite. I can’t wait to get it sorted and get some permission on someones land for some rabbits. Thanks everyone much appreciated 👍🏻

Thanks capital bee. I am definitely going to take it to a gun smith. Currently looking at gun smiths in my area now 😊 do you know roughly how much it would cost to fix ? Thank you

Ah brilliant mate. I had a feeling it was something to do with the seals I will take it to a gunsmith when I have a chance. Thank you 😊 it’s a gorgeous air rifle haven’t had it long. I couldn’t part with it before I’ve had a chance to fire it but love the compliment. Thank you for your help. I don’t know if the scope is original I will attach a picture 👍

Hi.
just wondering if anyone could give me some advise. I’ve got an old fwb 22 sport air rifle. The rifle has been very well maintained but hasent been fired on about 10 years. It’s cocks lovely and all sounds perfect. But it won’t fire the pellet through the barrel. The barrel is spotless. Thanks in advance 😊
