.223 seems to be the go to gun then. Is it just because there’s more ammo to choose from? I have looked at the stats and .204 just seems to beat it in every department? Trajectory, wind, recoil. I’d presume accuracy is on par with one another?
Hi, I’m looking to buy a foxing rifle. It will purely be for fox, nothing else. I have done research for a few months now and what I’m thinking is a sako 85 varmint barrel in either .204 or 22-250. I am leaning towards.204 due to the lower recoil and flatter trajectory.
question is, what would you me dream setup be? And what Cal would you go for?
I’m late to the forum, I shoot the greys in my garden, I keep a tally on the calendar each year, this year I’m already at 16, looks like I’ll be beating my previous two years which was 18 per year!
total 2000
I have never had any personal use on the a18 or a24 traps but they look very useful bits of kit. The only thing is, they are very “obvious “ so would have to be on land where public can’t see
Heres a picture of a knife I made a while back. It’s the first knife I made like this, so go easy on me 😬😂. I’m happy with the outcome, but I should of done it bigger.

I’m new to this forum, I have been into “general great outdoors” for 20 years now, but since having kids Iv had to retract somewhat, over the last few months I had seen quite a increase in magpies. I decided to make a Larsen trap out of a old dog cage that was going to be thrown out. As you can see it works very well. Looking at how many Iv caught so far I’m thinking a ladder trap might of been required! 😂
I made some tunnels a while back, it’s not just the actual box that care is needed, when setting the fenn it pays off to do prep work, digging the fenn into soil the gently covering it makes a big difference.
