  1. You don't have to pay any parking ticket issued by a private company. If it was me then I'd ignore it completely.
  2. Cambridgeshire are taking a year for new grants? Cheshire are currently 3-4 months.
  3. I'm not as experienced as most of those who has posted thus far, but the advice that I received when I started shooting was to spend little on your first gun and just purchase something that feels right for you at the time. Then when your mount and shooting style becomes more consistent that's the time to get a proper gun fit and then put your hands in your wallet to buy something more long-term. If your mate is willing to sell you his Citori then I'm assuming that he'll give you a good price. Since you already know that you get on with it then it sounds like a good idea to me.
  4. Before my time, but couldn’t imagine the BBC airing such a programme now. First aired in 1974, but I believe it was filmed a year prior.
  5. This conversation confused me for a while. I thought you were talking about a Bettinsoli X-Trail at first. It wasn’t until this post that I realised you meant the Nissan.
  6. I think each force does things in a slightly different order. With Cheshire the referee is contacted last of all, and then the certificate issued a few days after.
  7. Would love to offer a recommendation but the tradesperson who installed one for me a few years ago appears to have shut up shop. Have you tried using a site like MyBuilder or Checkatrade? You can post a job with a description, images, etc. and the relevant tradespeople can apply for the job. It uses an eBay-style feedback system so you can see who's legitimate.
  8. I believe the same woman in this article is the same woman who was campaigning for a ban on guns being stored at home. This isn’t promising with a Labour government looming. I dread what the response will be if there’s a shooting incident with Labour in power.
  9. Unfortunately, there’s not much to help with a smart tv or the YouTube app. If it’s a particularly long ad that isn’t skippable (I think 55 seconds is the max length that is unskippable now) then you could just exit and re-enter the video.
  10. You can pay for YouTube premium for no ads. I’ve had a YouTube account since 2006 so I’m really resistant to start paying for something I’ve had for free for 18 years. YouTube has gradually become much more corporate since it was purchased by Google.
  11. Just to add to this. A lot of stands had QR codes that you could scan to enter various competitions. I made a point of scanning every one that I passed. It paid off because I ended up winning an EBA XV2-RS air rifle worth £500. I don't shoot air rifles at all so it was immediately sold, but it was a nice surprise still.
  12. The problem with ditchman is that he always beats around the bush and doesn’t tell you what he really thinks.
  13. This has been spoken about a few times, so here's a quick summary of what I think. 1) Labour will almost certainly win the next election and all of the more vocal politicians who advocate stronger gun control are Labour MPs. 2) Luke Pollard is the most prominent of the above, and a possible future leader of the Labour party. 3) Guns being banned from being kept at home has repeatedly been suggested by Pollard and others. If this happens then the value of guns will plummet as very few people will want to spend big money on a gun that they can't even keep at home. 4) If an incident similar to Plymouth happens while Labour are in power then I think that some of the more extreme measures being suggested will unfortunately come to pass. 5) Only silver lining I can think of is that Starmer himself doesn't seem to have increased gun control as one of his priorities. 6) One thing that a lot of people forget is that the only reason that we didn't have more of a knee-jerk reaction after Plymouth like after other incidents is because the day after Plymouth was when Biden pulled out of Afghanistan - it pushed it off the front page. The public are very fickle. 7) I would strongly advise that you read the Labour manifesto when it's released to see if there's any mention of gun control. I would advise you consider this well when making your decision.
  14. I would hope that the guy who told the story was exaggerating or missing another piece of key info.
  15. Texting/scrolling the internet while driving is a much more dangerous offence than driving 5 mph over the limit. I dislike overreaching police officers as much as the next man, but I have no issue with this.
  16. You can get in most places for free if you’re wearing a hi-vis vest. If you really want to make sure then wear a hard hat also.
  17. Ironically, his 2 out of his 3 names would have to be censored in a PG film.
  18. I went yesterday. I thought the Friday would been the slowest day but it was rammed. I enjoyed the day and had a good few conversations. I’ll be going again next year.
  19. 8.6% rise. Inflation was 4% last year, so let’s not forget that they are almost obliged to increase the state pension annually.
  20. Please look up what Luke Pollard wants to do concerning gun ownership before you decide to vote Labour. Barring any kind of huge scandal before November, Labour will be winning the election. I do think there’s an outside chance that they won’t get a majority, which will prevent them enacting some of their more extreme proposals. To anyone who owns a firearm of any kind, and is particularly bothered about keeping it, don’t vote Labour. It’s as simple as that.
  21. Regarding the above. From the language used this was likely a bot programmed to sift through forums and reply to wanted ads. Here’s a link to an American Jeep forum where the exact same bot appears to have posted - uses the same ‘dawndawson’ email address. https://www.thecj2apage.com/FORUMS/hello_topic53410_post550408.html#550408 It’s definitely something to keep an eye on going forward. They’re often Indian in origin and you can sometimes pick up on the quirks of their posting style.

I’m glad I only drink water.
  23. Talk about overreach. I would sarcastically ask them if they have a list of ‘approved’ activities that your grandson can engage in outside of school.
  24. I’m not factoring the state pension at all into my future plans. I’m glad I pay extra into my private pension.
