  1. Borrowed a kreighoff off a friend of mine a few years back a k80 sporter 30" it was a very lovely gun shot really well but to me always felt square and lumpy no real finesse to it as I use my clay guns to shoot pigeons and game too also did not like the triggers. I bought a Perazzi MX8 32" sporter with sco upgrade wood. this was truly a lovely handling gun and shot really well. I just don't think that perazzi are worth the money they ask for them at todays prices. When I had mine it was 2007 about £5250 now just stupid. I sold it back in 2012. I do like the mx2000s model but not at todays price again. I had a Beretta ASE gold and that was a lovely gun. The DT10 was a poor version of it, made on a buget. I have shot also the DT11 but does not handle with the finesse of the Perazzi. my choice would be mx2000s or mx12 go for a fix choked version and don't Teague it. It ruins a good perazzi their patterns and barrels and triggers are great.
  2. really cartridge prices do not really mater to much extra £10 per thousand. It really depends on your build and whether you are able to shoot with a 12g or need a smaller 20g gun. As you have just started shooting if you are able to use a 12 bore I would go down that route to start with. when you can shoot a bit then make your choice.
  3. with scopes, you only get what you pay for.
  4. For pigeons I use 1/2 & 3/4 though 1/4 & 1/2 should cover it.
  5. For me the .223 rem it moderates far better. great round for fox.
  6. That's a coincidence. Early jan bloke came pheasant shooting with a 16 bore kept miss firing hull high pheasant. At lunch changed he had another make of cartridges from his car shot fine no miss fires at all. the hull cart primers were all well hit. need to take em back where you bought em. let the dealer have it out with hull.
  7. pheasants die a lot easier than a pigeon I think. Any reasonable pigeon or game load will do em if you splash the lead on em. 30g or 32g. Real high pheasants (50 yards +) well try RC sipe 5 shot. Most normal pheasants shooting don't need nothing special. save your money. people just want to keep up with the jones on beaters day or treat themselves.
  8. I bought 500 a while back they seemed to be fine. but I have gone back on the sipe's they seem to hit harder.
  9. Spoke to a gunsmith friend of mine the other day. he says he's mending a lot of them already.
  10. Miroku 32" mk38 trap with mk38 sporter stock. 3/4 + full (game and Vermin) Browning B725 32" sporter M/C but mostly 3/4 + full (Clays)
  11. my dream shotgun would be one that never missed.
  12. In my experience. I had a Ceaser Geurini Essex sporter 32" 20 bore with wood upgrade. It was a lovely gun to handle and to shoot with absolute dream for a 20 Bore. Good barrel technology and nice wood work pretty engraving. I shot it solid four about 5 years truly great. It wore out very quickly went floppy and lose only shot 28G loads in it. I chopped it in got very little for it part x (Geurini dealer)and it was well look after always loved and cleaned. Not up to the standard as far I believe. I have had Miroku,s and Browning,s that have done twenty years work and were as good as the day I bought them when I sold them. I would not buy another (pretty gun though) and shoot great.
  13. concentrate on the shooting. Tight chokes will make you shoot better in the long run.
  14. Had a Ceaser Guerini Essex sporter Ltd 32" 20 bore. Shot really great but clapped out in about 4 years always cleaned. will not have another one. If browning bring out this B725 20 Bore I might have a ganders if they do a 32" or a perazzi if I win the lotto.
  15. I have shot a fare few of them. They are really quite good. In RC I prefer the Sipe 20G or Eley Vips
  16. Shame to hear that fella that terrible news. unfortunately things do change over the years. Keep your chin up, and keep looking. Let the pheasant's season finish and go back and try to find the new owner and some new land to shoot. Best of luck.
  17. Best advise I can give you is to pattern plate the gun. find some ones who really knows to help you a coach/instructor from your local clay ground etc. People giving opinions are to be taken with a pinch of salt unless you know these guys are good quality shotswith plenty of experience. There are plenty of know alls in shooting but not many that know all. best of luck.
  18. Forgive me chaps for I do not have any photos of my excursions much in 2013. but Shot a dozen or so hundred plus bags 2013. But the one that sticks to mind was February on rape. started decoying 1pm set up. They started to come thick and fast on a strong wind from the west. shot after shot bird after bird hot barrels the proper thrill of winter rape shooting as it should be. Dried up 3.30pm picked up 153 pigeons. This is what dreams are made of for me. truly great sport and shooting on form. Hide in a hedge with a hole, so I could shoot in front and behind all sorts of bird angle's high one's low ones, decoying ones, tree toppers, tall ones, crossers. Really great day wont forget it hectic. And didn't miss to many either. Fingers crossed for 2014.
