  1. As someone who likes “ different “ looking guns , I have seen a couple of the Browning Cynergy Black Composite 12G on Guntrader for sale . is there any reason not to buy one ? , ( they do fit as I’ve tried one ) Pros ? Cons ?
  2. Any reason why a Browning 425 Sporter wouldn’t be a good choice for me as a beginner, I have shot my instructors 525 on a couple of occasions while having my lessons and it fits absolutely fine. Budget won’t stretch to a 525 but the 425 looks more than adequate. Pro’s and Con’s ????
  3. So at this time last year I was in the process of acquiring my first shotgun license. Unfortunately due to losing my job and a couple of other “ life events “ I didn’t get any further than filling the application form in and getting the medical pro forma sorted from my doctor. Well in the last few weeks I’ve submitted my application to West Mercia Police and found myself a shooting club and instructor that has been giving me weekly lessons at their shooting ground. Between us we have worked out what guns fit me and what don’t and I’m pleased to say that I have progressed my application and I’m really enjoying the shooting. Ive found that I am really comfortable shooting my instructors ATA and have seen my scores progress a little each week. I’ve decided that once my license arrives, I will be off to Bromsgrove Shooting Supplies to purchase either an ATA Supersport or an ATA SP Laminate. Its good to be back in the shooting fraternity and I’d like to thank the guys at Bordseleyand Redditch Shooting Society in Redditch for making me feel both welcome and valued.
  4. Is there any viable reason why I shouldn’t buy this as my first gun ? i know it would fit as I have used one in the lessons I have been taking whilst waiting for my license to arrive.
  5. Unfortunately not, it has a slightly higher comb than the ATA SP that I have used at my last 2 lessons . The ATA is a completely standard model, and has the same length of pull as the Marocchi , i have got on really well with the ATA and would happily buy one . I seen this, and as somebody that likes something a little different from the mainstream I have fell in love with it. Sorry for the delay in replying, I’ve had my son over this weekend and we were out most of today walking my new puppy Staffordshire Bullterrier
  6. I’m located in Birmingham, the gun is on sale at Solware in Tamworth.
  7. I have been looking around for my first gun, one that has caught my eye is this Marochi Evo . 12 gauge with extended chokes , 30 inch barrels with the nickel action, ABS case I’m aware that Marochi have gone out of business but the warranty is being underwritten by Breda who have taken on the liability. £550 brand new . Anybody else own one of these or has experience of them ?
  8. I’ve been in contact with the firearms licensing department at West Mercia Police today. I was told by them that they are only now processing grant / renewals for shotgun licences from August 2nd . Anybody else suffering with waiting times of nearly 5 months . ? By my calculations, the earliest I can expect to see any return on my application is now April , does that seem excessive ?
  9. Anywhere that I could see a list of what you have ?
  10. I wish I'd joined this forum before seeing the quack. I'd be £40 better off if I had 😥😥
  11. Has anybody used Shotgun Medicals.com to bypass the ridiculous charges that doctors ask for ? He is charging £60 to process a medical certificate and is quoting 3 days turn around if you can supply him with your medical records or online access to your records
  12. Just applied for my SGC and my doctor charged £100 !!
  13. This is the Lanber that has taken my interest https://www.airgunspares.com/210519003-pre-owned-lanber-sporting-gold.html
  14. Going to a clay ground is something i would definitely consider, however i have called a couple close to where i live and i have to say that the response has been underwhelming. I am considering giving the oxford gun company a call and booking an appointment with them, even though it would entail driving from Birmingham to Oxford, as they have been the only clayground that i have contacted that have shown any real interest
  15. Yes, I don't see a point where i will go out game shooting. Maybe pigeons now and again but it would be very few and far between Thank you
  16. I am just coming into the sport, and as you can imagine i have been looking at various shotguns to purchase as my first gun. I have looked at the Kofs , ATA, Yildiz etc and they all seem much of a muchness. Here's my question, i have 500-700 to spend, and have seen a very nice looking Lanber Sporting Deluxe for 595 a a local RFD, I will probably only shoot 100 clays, a couple of times a month maximum. My concern is that Lanber is no longer making guns , and i read on various sites that parts can be tricky to get a hold of. So, i guess the question / advice I'm looking for is new Turkish or used Lanber ?
