  1. merseamal

    ISO 9001

I’m an IRCA certified lead auditor for 9001, ran a constancy for years getting companies accredited but have shut it down, I’ve not read any of this thread, just your initial post, if you’re sorted fine, if not feel free to let me know, message me and I’ll happily have a call for free to let you know the easiest route, pitfalls to avoid and I’ll even email you a load of templates 👍🏻
  2. Think you’ll find the general license very clear and no need for interpretation. Jays kill red list young therefore as you say, fine to kill them.
  3. That reply was given by an anti online, do you know for yourself I.e are you and radiographer or know one that has confirmed this? Reason I ask is I have used X-ray machine for post, from letters to huge parcels and there’s no different settings or presets. I have also been xrayed a lot myself.
  4. Sorry I don’t buy that, I’ve spent a lot of time googling vets X-ray machines and procedures, there’s 3 adjustable aspects but I can’t find a single machine that has “presets” for each animal. Even if there were presets then surely that wouldn’t work, big difference between a Jack Russel and St Bernard “dog” and big differences in sizes of parrot! There is a machine made by parrot and there is a machine where you can type in which animal it is. Also, the X-ray of the supposed goshawks as a very long neck and the head is missing…. Why wouldn’t you X-ray the head of a bird you suspect has been shot?
  5. Why do you need to know the size for an X-ray? And wouldn’t you just use a tape measure instead of an X-ray?
  6. Yeah. I don’t get that, why would you need a specific setting for an X-ray? An X-ray is just a camera, they certainly don’t have settings in X-rays for people or post so why on birds? I don’t believe that X-ray is of these birds at all.
  7. If you’re a BASC member they have a medical panel that can help
  8. I agree with a lot of what you’ve said. im predominantly a wildfowler, have never had an issue with bag returns, non-toxic etc. I have also worked on large game shoots keeperimg, picking up and beating and whilst the shoots I have been lucky enough to be involved with have been run brilliantly (all meat goes into the food chain) I have heard plenty of horror stories about other shoots, this needs sorting. I think it will be the small farm shoots as you out it, where most people get introduced to shooting as kids that will suffer if we get more regulation, they won’t have the resources to comply, the knickknacks in effect will be less license holders, in turn less game farms, less gun shops, in turn less clay grounds etc etc
  9. 😂 I’ll see you at Sporting targets in August, I’ll bring a film crew and we can raise some money for charity!
  10. On the whole game price, use etc. I predict pheasant going up to approx £5 a brace once they are all shot with steel… and not to the game dealer, to the posh raw dig food manufacturers. and if anyone is unaware, it is illegal to shoot and “dump” game, any shoot that does not have a viable outlet is morally wrong and breaking the law. @rewolf, if everyone is shooting steel at clays there’s no unfair advantage, but if you’re an early adopter then there is an advantage. so, still use lead on air guns…centre fires under 6.5mm (for now) more money for you pheasants and pigeons. better scores at clays (if you want to use steel) what’s not to like? Now do you trust BASC?
  11. Seriously? You think this will stop in wales? Like the hunting ban, ban on pistols this is another nail on the coffin for shooting, you think the antis won’t be getting people all round the world to complete this? Better penetration no, clays don’t need loads of penetration but it’s better for killing quarry, conversely surely it’s better that steel penetrates for clays rather than not as well. by better patter I mean tighter by nature, so if you normally shoot 8’s through half choke in lead, shooting 7’s through quarter will cover you a tighter, more dense pattern that has more shot in it, make sense?
  12. When guns from Europe come over they all use steel for clays, better penetration, better pattern, more shot, what’s not to like 😂 I moved to steel for clays ages ago as it gives you an unfair advantage! Good call, all the regional BASC Facebook pages advertise their TSA days and it’s in the magazine
  13. @jall25love this! Thank you for posting your honest experience.
  14. Not really, everyone knows lead is toxic and that there’s alternative shot out there almost everyone I’ve spoken to is more than happy to move away from lead shot. and regarding those that think BASC should have outright opposed it all, how authoritative would they have looked trying to tell scientists and MPs that lead isn’t toxic?
