    ISO 9001

I’m an IRCA certified lead auditor for 9001, ran a constancy for years getting companies accredited but have shut it down, I’ve not read any of this thread, just your initial post, if you’re sorted fine, if not feel free to let me know, message me and I’ll happily have a call for free to let you know the easiest route, pitfalls to avoid and I’ll even email you a load of templates 👍🏻
  2. Think you’ll find the general license very clear and no need for interpretation. Jays kill red list young therefore as you say, fine to kill them.
  3. That reply was given by an anti online, do you know for yourself I.e are you and radiographer or know one that has confirmed this? Reason I ask is I have used X-ray machine for post, from letters to huge parcels and there’s no different settings or presets. I have also been xrayed a lot myself.
  4. Sorry I don’t buy that, I’ve spent a lot of time googling vets X-ray machines and procedures, there’s 3 adjustable aspects but I can’t find a single machine that has “presets” for each animal. Even if there were presets then surely that wouldn’t work, big difference between a Jack Russel and St Bernard “dog” and big differences in sizes of parrot! There is a machine made by parrot and there is a machine where you can type in which animal it is. Also, the X-ray of the supposed goshawks as a very long neck and the head is missing…. Why wouldn’t you X-ray the head of a bird you suspect has been shot?
  5. Why do you need to know the size for an X-ray? And wouldn’t you just use a tape measure instead of an X-ray?
  6. Yeah. I don’t get that, why would you need a specific setting for an X-ray? An X-ray is just a camera, they certainly don’t have settings in X-rays for people or post so why on birds? I don’t believe that X-ray is of these birds at all.
  7. If you’re a BASC member they have a medical panel that can help
  8. I agree with a lot of what you’ve said. im predominantly a wildfowler, have never had an issue with bag returns, non-toxic etc. I have also worked on large game shoots keeperimg, picking up and beating and whilst the shoots I have been lucky enough to be involved with have been run brilliantly (all meat goes into the food chain) I have heard plenty of horror stories about other shoots, this needs sorting. I think it will be the small farm shoots as you out it, where most people get introduced to shooting as kids that will suffer if we get more regulation, they won’t have the resources to comply, the knickknacks in effect will be less license holders, in turn less game farms, less gun shops, in turn less clay grounds etc etc
  9. 😂 I’ll see you at Sporting targets in August, I’ll bring a film crew and we can raise some money for charity!
  10. On the whole game price, use etc. I predict pheasant going up to approx £5 a brace once they are all shot with steel… and not to the game dealer, to the posh raw dig food manufacturers. and if anyone is unaware, it is illegal to shoot and “dump” game, any shoot that does not have a viable outlet is morally wrong and breaking the law. @rewolf, if everyone is shooting steel at clays there’s no unfair advantage, but if you’re an early adopter then there is an advantage. so, still use lead on air guns…centre fires under 6.5mm (for now) more money for you pheasants and pigeons. better scores at clays (if you want to use steel) what’s not to like? Now do you trust BASC?
  11. Seriously? You think this will stop in wales? Like the hunting ban, ban on pistols this is another nail on the coffin for shooting, you think the antis won’t be getting people all round the world to complete this? Better penetration no, clays don’t need loads of penetration but it’s better for killing quarry, conversely surely it’s better that steel penetrates for clays rather than not as well. by better patter I mean tighter by nature, so if you normally shoot 8’s through half choke in lead, shooting 7’s through quarter will cover you a tighter, more dense pattern that has more shot in it, make sense?
  12. When guns from Europe come over they all use steel for clays, better penetration, better pattern, more shot, what’s not to like 😂 I moved to steel for clays ages ago as it gives you an unfair advantage! Good call, all the regional BASC Facebook pages advertise their TSA days and it’s in the magazine
  13. @jall25love this! Thank you for posting your honest experience.
  14. Not really, everyone knows lead is toxic and that there’s alternative shot out there almost everyone I’ve spoken to is more than happy to move away from lead shot. and regarding those that think BASC should have outright opposed it all, how authoritative would they have looked trying to tell scientists and MPs that lead isn’t toxic?
  15. I’ve not tried to insult anyone, but by all means, if the cap fits…. Am I genuinely a shooter? I’m one of the few along with Connor who is still actively responding to this thread imploring you all to see sense and start supporting or at least stop attacking our only hope at a future in shooting, I have been shooting, fishing, foraging, conserving and living a country life all my life and have a 2 month old granddaughter who I will fight until my last breath to enable me to be able to take her shooting, and see you few squabblers as a bigger threat to shooting than vegans and antis, and yes I’m passionate but I have not (intentionally) been rude to anyone, just calling you out for what I see, and would just as happily say it hear as I would to your faces. I think you’ve all got a dose of sour grapes over BASC, over legal protection you’ve never needed and steel shot that was about to have a blanket ban, is toxic (absolutely no arguing that) shooting is falling apart from a lack of unity and you’d rather blame BASC than look at yourselves and take your portion of the blame. I’ve not evaded anything, I’ve pointed you in the direction of the answers, said my piece. BASC don’t have to publish an in depth detail of outgoings same as the rest of the mutuals and ltd and plc’s in the world so why should they, no other shooting organisation does. if it makes you feel better blaming BASC rather than yourselves for the possible future demise of our way of life then as long as you feel good about it good for you! call me what you want, I’m not rude I’m a realist and straight talking, I’m not a troll or anti I’m the most proud countryman you’ll ever meet.
  16. 😂 Righto carry on thinking that
  17. My my scully, whilst I’m happy to join in this conversation as I like, same as everyone else, I’m not going to start posting links, neither do I have to answer anything in here (even though I’m pretty sure I have answered anything put to me), rewolf has seen the accounts, if you’re really interested go to British Association for Shooting and Conservation Ltd on the FCA website and you’ll see them. And, my set of questions have not been answered by Rewolf. regarding lead shot, that’s easy. Lead shot can pose a risk to some birds whilst feeding and the watercourse so, if a clay ground doesn’t have those birds or watercourse, no risk, if it does, create a management plan to deal with it, pretty sure the CPSA are all for moving to steel, as are many clay shots as it’s better than lead. But, BASC is opposing a move to non toxic. (Non fac) air guns, pellets don’t travel fast enough to heat up enough to break down on impact, cut that little pellet out your bunny and no risk, air gun pellets are too big for birds to mistake for food or accidentally eat. But, BASC is opposing a move to non toxic. CPSA (and BASCs old) legal cover. Why would anyone need legal cover? If you’ve done nothing wrong you won’t loose your guns, if you’ve done something wrong legal cover doesn’t cover you…. And in the extremely rare circumstance where you’ve done nothing wrong and you have an issue with renewal or loosing your guns BASC has a whole firearms department to deal with it and in worst case could use the fighting fund. finally, the exact figures for what has been spent on the fighting fund are not published, the legal, audited, FCA accounts are. Would you expect to see minute financial detail for any other organisation, CPSA, NGO, GWCT or even Coca Cola, BP? Ask questions and when you get a suitable answer how about accepting it rather than expecting something you would not get from any organisation, that’s just not a level playing field. in my very honest and personal option, some of you causing the biggest fuss are the very reason why shooting is in the trouble it is, I think you’re short sighted and should really think about becoming part of the solution rather than part of the problem, we have enough of that from the anti brigade. did I miss anything?
  18. Where did you get that from? if you belong to more than one club then you claim back extra fees but, a new system is being out in place whereby you nominate one club and only pay that one.
  19. 😂 it’s in the 2020 accounts. it’s in the 2021 accounts. mot will be in the 2022 accounts. if you have a problem with how accounts are done I’d talk to the FCA im not sure what you’re trying to achieve other than alienate everyone and get them to stop talking to you.
  20. This is where it all gets confusing. I asked my previous questions to those attacking BASC, you answered in their behalf. you answered my question what are you looking for with “clarity” yet you seem quite clear? regarding the organisations, I find that a real shame, I feel every shooter should belong to an organisation to support our way of life, I mean I think everyone should be a BASC member, but if not at least one of the others. have you read your policy? Do you know what you are and are not covered for? If you had to make a claim would you have to find it until a result was read he’d and then attempt to claim your costs back? regarding “the voice of shooting” yes, as I said I have heard and seen it lots, it is not basc’s current slogan nor can I find any reference to it on the internet, anywhere.
  21. Thank you, yes, I did miss your reply as it was within the quote of my post and was minimised so I didn’t see it at all. And on reading your answers I can see why you and probably why rewulf are confused. the government via the HSE because of UK REACH was about to outright ban all lead, not just shot, not just bullets and pellets all lead, do you miss that? BASC and 8 other organisation stepped in to attempt to stop the ban. Have done a massive amount of work to buy time, make it work and protect small caibres and target shooting. What clarity is it you are seeking? What organisation(s) do you belong to? What makes the. Better in your mind than BASC? What are they doing to protect shooting for future generations? Do they have any fighting fund at all? Also please explain the Cochise reference, I know who he was it don’t see the similarity personally edit. I have heard “the voice of shooting” before and it’s been mentioned on this thread, a lot… I’ve been a BASC member for 25+ years and clearly didn’t pay enough attention but, I cannot find it online or anywhere, not in any BASC publications…. basc’s slogan is “best in field”
  22. None of my questions have been answered and nobody has even attempted to. @Rewulfs questions have been answered, at least all of the original ones, possibly not in as much detail as he’d like (guess you’d need to ring Ian Bell, I’m sure he’d happily talk to you) so how can you say they haven’t? And why should they even be answered on here? what’s not been answered?
