Ummmmm, is this a trick question??? :s
  1. Thats a 46% accuracy rating, is that really a great day
  2. Norton managed to wipe my system of all windows programs leaving my computer inopperable. Not even the curser on the mouse would move  I hate Norton, wouldn't ever use it again!
  3. Too bl00dy observant for your own good!
  4. So you obviously havent got a brain behind your eye either then! If you can't be confident of where the shot is going to land you shouldn't be taking the shot! Surely the animal deserves a little respect when you shoot it. How would you feel being shot in the jaw etc? As for saying I have no brain...Why make this personal? I wasn't slaiting you I just feel that the shot should be quick and as pain free as possible and in my experiance shooting them in the eye doesn't produce that. Blood loss isn't an efficient way to die!! Now I remember why I left this forum, arguementative people that don't have respect for the animals they hunt!
  5. Please say you didnt shoot that pigeon straight through both eyes!? No way does a shot like that produce a clean kill. It's happened to me before so I know!
  6. Check here The 9000+ members have spoken! If it was me, i'd get .177, i too was scepticle as to its killing power but i went for it anyway. Im SO pleased I did! So far i've achieved more clean kills than with the .22 i had. Message to mods: If this link breaks rules I do apologise, I think it provides helpful info on the matter.
  7. Wish i could do that standing!!! What pellets were you using mate? I always find that shots straight between their eyes work well, they just jump up and back about a foot then land without even a kick of the legs
  8. I used to get a constant flow of 2 or 3 squirrels in my small wood. Now the tawny owls have returned and are nesting for the second year running they seem to be keeping the squirrels away, i havent seen any for a good month..possibly two....it gets hard to keep track of time
  9. And if they work for the human eye they work for an animals eye. I say this because the human sees the tree and they see the jacket, they blend together. Even if the animal sees things completely differently to us the change of both items will be the same so it will blend. Did anyone get that? I know what i mean! N_S
  10. On 10X zoom i can tell the difference between 30 and 32 yards, if i got up to about 14 then i can tell the difference between 30 and 31 yards.

What you say makes sense BUT the if you do miss the mark then you are very unlikely to miss the body when going for a heart shot instead if your shot goes high on a rabbits brain then it will miss altogether. A shot in most areas will result in death........eventually, however wouldn't it be better to reduce the chance of injuring rather than increase the chance of the rabbit dieing, eventually?!? A lesson has been learned here...........THINK before you post and a similar concept can be applied to shootin.........THINK before you fire.

Jon-boy: How wise do you think it is to go for a chest shot when he can't group the pellets tight enough for a head shot. The heart and lungs may be a marginally bigger target BUT it isn't clear exactly where it is at different angles! With a brain shot you can see the head, ears and usually the eyes from every possible angle. I strongly suggest you go for head shots. 'They will die in a few seconds' is hardly the responsible approach is it!! When shooting you should always go for the quickest, least painfull kill possible. This will usually mean a shot to the head however on occasions it may be suitable for a heart shot but only if it will kill it outright! If in doubt don't shoot, far better to not shoot than to injur and cause unnecersary pain and suffering. I suggest that before you go teaching others what you know, you learn things first so that way you can pass on valid information. The worst thing to do is to teach others bad practice, especially when the life of others (be it humans or animals) may be at stake.
  13. berthaboo: I presume you know that it is illegal to shoot game without a game license?!?
  14. Try mounting the laser beneath you silencer(if you have one that is). That way you are increasing the distance between laser and scope without making it awkward to manage. Plus if you have a silencer which can just screw on and off then it is easy for you to fit it into a a gunabag. HTH Regards S_S
