Do it mate, you won't regret it.  It comes with it's own setting chamber so you don't need to fill the bottle to set it.  When it arrives it will have pressure in it so put it in the gun and fire it off to empty the testing chamber.  Mine is .177 and 6.5mpa on the reg gives me 11.6ftlb with an 8.4gn pellet.  It's a 300 bar reg to so if you are using the original bottle you will get far more shots than the 200 bar you were max. filling to before.  It handles 300 bar with ease.

Thanks for that. I'll deffo look into. Appreciate the info 👍

Aye, but as I posted, under £40 buys you an adjustable regulator that solves the problem.  You only have to look at the design to know that without a plenum/dosing chamber it is going to need a regulator to keep it below 12ftlb.  As such the rifle simply isn't fit for purpose as a sub 12ftlb rifle.  I really don't know what Gunpower were thinking of.

@Biffo1262 Really helpful input ref the regulator. I have a very early 2000's Stealth and it is a bit of a Marmite gun. A modders dream maybe but hard to keep consistent. I'd sort of given up on it but that regulator idea may help. It was built for the US market where FAC power is standard. They tried to dumb it down to sub-12 ft/lb for the UK market and it struggled.

Like you say, fundamentally a good gun, but you need to know how to get the best out of it. In FAC .22 they are much better and very capable.

Might have to get on to AliExpress....

  3. Interesting that the press have said it was surprising how quickly the Russians confirmed that he was on the plane.

    Means he probably wasn't.

Or he was, and they needed to confirm very quicky the nature of the `tragic accident`.

    Not sure we'll ever know.

  4. As with a lot of things, there is advice/guidance/best practice and legal requirements. I would think that this is just a suggestion from the FEO. Not sure why so many people are up in arms about it.

Personally, the more security, the better. Yes - the intruders may not be identifiable, but if you get a real time alert that they are up to no good, you can at least try to deal with it.

I have several cameras for other reasons and they do a good job. 1080HD 24/7 recording to SD card or a HDD recorder if desired. Text/email alerts. Motion detection recording, night vision and other widgets. Some are fixed and some are PTZ (pan, tilt, zoom) so you can move them remotely.

For what I want them to do, they work really well and give an element of peace of mind.

They also has no subscription services.

There are loads to choose from and you don't need to spend a fortune.

  5. You can get specific isolators that go in the top of fence posts. Sounds like you don't have access to mains power, so a battery, energiser and some sort of charger are needed. Most energisers have the relevant leads and earth rod (worth checking). You may find that in winter a solar charger struggles to keep the battery topped up. It's usually best to get a lesiure battery as they are better suited, rather than a car one.

    Hope you get it sorted.

    Frightening!

Whats even more concerning is how 'erratic' that finger discipline could get in a heightened situation.

I think the OP would quite like to see that....😛

  7. I use Collect+ https://www.collectplus.co.uk/

You get a choice of couriers and can be cheap and cheerful or pay more for a premium service.

Hermes/Yodel - cheap but variable service. As most of their delivery folk are owner drivers, you take your chances. Our local driver is very good but I've heard plenty of horror stories. I've sent 4 items in the last 6 weeks via Hermes and all arrived on time, so I've not had an issue. You can pay extra at time of booking for tracking and signature on delivery etc.

I have an Amazon Prime account and most stuff arrives next day. Again, it relies on owner drivers and most are fine, but the odd delivery gets delayed. On the whole, not had an issue and I order a lot of stuff.

Personally, I find DPD very good. Excellent tracking, text/email updates and delivery windows.

Parcelforce used to be good but I find them a bit hit and miss now.

Overall, I do think you get what you pay for. Also bear in mind that over Xmas, some delivery times are extended, even if the adverts are not updated.

  8. My thoughts based on having used most of your options:

Mobile CB.  Not sure, they are expensive, highly accesable. - very open channels and subject to interference. Handsets not that cheap.

Camping pmr446, - cheap, accessable, not sure about quality of transmit.  - got some Motorola ones that work ok with line of sight - maybe half a mile. use them for pigeon shooting and very useful. Can still get channel interference but far less that CB.

Digital pmr. Alittle more expensive, clear audio.- certainly a step up on the camping ones - better range and usually a better power output. More expensive.

Baofeng pmr446 - cheap and analogue, aparently really good. - certainly worth a punt for the money but might be similar to the camping 446 quality

messenger Pigeons, clean up, and have to feed them. - better on the BBQ

Walkie-Talkie type radios can be good fun to use as well and you can get some chat and banter going.

Another option with mobile phones is to set up a WhatsApp group and you all message on that.

  9. I'm on a service contract with Worcester Bosch for £25 p/m, so £300 per year.

That includes an annual service and call outs if we have a problem.

We have an oil burner and must have had about £1500 of work in the last 3 years - so we still feel like we're in credit!
