  1. Hi guys. Need some collective advice re the above. A while ago I converted a garage that's part of an steading type outbuilding into a nice little boxing gym. Sadly I noticed small puddles of water appearing on the floor that I'd painted with Leyland floor paint. It's definitely not coming from above so was thinking it must be wicking up though concrete and settling on surface. Now I've only recently found the time to tackle this and I've started by ripping out the floor and I want to start again. I've taken up the old concrete that ranges from a few mils to a few inches thick. Under this is a variety of different sized stones set into sand, some quite large. I'm guessing this is a fairly standard way of doing a floor in an old outbuilding. I was expecting more water but there's been just a few wet stones and general dampness, no water pipes ect. Appreciate this is a bit long winded just wanted to set the scene. The questions I have are. What to do next that's the easiest most cost effective way to put in new floor. I've got a damp proof membrane I'll obviously put down. Will I need to whacker plate some sand down first before membrane, if so how deep? Will i need to use rebar? I've paced out floor and it's around 3m wide by 5m long so not big. Is this something I can do myself with the hiring of mixer and whacker ect? I've done the easy bit, though back breaking now need a plan for the next part. Some pics included including a couple when it was just finished and in use. I'll be adding some more ventilation also. Many thanks 👍🏻 https://photos.app.goo.gl/dvHAr89rhkHy6WPP6 https://photos.app.goo.gl/hV5Yb9kpUnKeRcJH6 https://photos.app.goo.gl/nrDWuZ7c3w5xotbv9 https://photos.app.goo.gl/oFrh8cF9PBR6CC4K8 https://photos.app.goo.gl/PHdmzhGCNY2wZDzm9
  2. Haha, I know how to climb up and down them. Probably paint or stain them. That's about where my expertise ends 😂
  3. Awesome. Stairs are always a complete mystery to me 😂
  4. That was beautiful. I'm no fan of piers at all but she was quite comprehensively chewed up for **** paper, by both of them 😂 Swinson is yet another slime ball, after watching that I'm fairly satisfied she has no chance of getting into power.
  5. Each of mine is kept in its own gun sock, wiped down periodically with a sportsman type silicon impregnated cloth. Plus I've got a vp90 sachet and moisture trap. No rust or dried out woodwork. Maybe overkill but I've no idea why anyone would spend thousands on guns then be reluctant to pay £8 a year on a sachet of vp90?
  6. The job has been eroded over time. I've only been in since 2006 half of that firearms, but in that short time I've seen it. Front line cops are not alot more than a mobile crime reporting bureau, a slave to the radio. The odd exciting job happens but the majority of time is spent dealing with utter tripe. Mental health issues (most time is spent dealing with this) Regular mispers from kids homes (tons of time lost here) Someone being called a **** on Facebook 😂 The pay and leave is alright though, that's the only reason I do it. It's just a job.
  7. The sentence is a joke. I'd see it as a positive though if I was one of his sons. 6 years to plan something special for his release 👍🏻
  8. I'm fortunate in that I can move around quite easily in my job (cop) with no change in pay. My other half is a chiropractor so easy for her too. It was definitely the right move. Such a nice pace up here. No one seems stressed out and aggressive. I can only put that down to less people, traffic, hustle and bustle. They've even welcomed me, a Southern England **** 🤣
  9. Sold an end of terrace 2 bed in Horsham West Sussex 2 years ago and bought a 3 bed detached house with outbuildings and 18 acres for 5k more in Aberdeenshire. We rented for the first year. So been here 3 years now. No regrets, I love it here. The people, the landscape, the country.
  10. It's shocking. I only use it to buy now. I'm finding facebook market place the best thing to use now if I want rid of things. Gets out to local people quickly, no messing about having to pack and post 👍🏻
  11. The best advice is **** ebay. It's a joke for sellers. Best one recently, you send me the bike helmet (£150) and if I'm happy with it I'll send you the money, haha ok mate good one. I'll never use it to sell again it's useless.
  12. Destroy them on social media and Google review.
  13. I think it's common sense if you're in a specific situation where a member of public might call police to maybe pre warn them. It might help a control room inspector make the right call. Situation, something like dealing with an urban fox in a back garden. A phonecall with location and times ect that can go on record might not hurt. Then when a phonecall comes in about a sniper shooting at people from a top bedroom window, a guvnor in a control room has a bit more information with which to base a decision. The response may well be a little more low key if you'd called in. It's not some clandestine operation to track you're every move, information is all those in charge of deployments have to go on, why not help that process? But no, she's ultimately wrong it's not a requirement.
  14. I got a 5L bottle of rosate 360 about 18 months ago on amazon. It's only just run out, worked very well. We have a large area of track and around outbuildings that needs attention. Might try the salt trick.
  15. I sound similar to others when decoying pigeons, I can have a run of 10-15 birds where I could be George Digweed. Then spend the next 50 shots wondering if the cartridges are empty 😂
  16. It really is that easy yes. Saw loads going under a roof slate by dormer window the other day. Waited till evening, squirted a load of wasp powder into gap. Next day, no more wasps 👍🏻

Only one. I couldn't care less.
  18. Nice one. I did one years ago in taupo nz and was going to say the same. A feeling of acceleration but then it feels like you're hovering as you can't see the ground approaching in free fall, at least I couldn't. I loved it and can totally see why people take it up as a hobby.

    UHD TV

Thing is you might not be able to find a non 4k tv anyway. Remember when 3d was all the rage a good few years ago, every new set had it. Similar thing now with 4k, they even have 8k sets now don't get me started haha. So it's likely you'll end up with a 4k set you just won't really see the best of it 👍🏻

    UHD TV

Another thing worth bearing in mind is what are you going to watch? Have you got a Netflix account or uhd player to supply the content? If you're streaming 4k you need a very solid internet connection. You'll see zero benefit in getting a 4k TV if you're watching anything coming through an aerial. Avforums is a wealth of info on this subject, worth popping in there.
  21. Apparently after a few sherbets I start some crazy aramaic devil's chant in my sleep. Freaks the Mrs out a treat 😂 She's tried getting it recorded to no avail.
  22. I imagine he's a complete lizard like most senior cops.
  23. It is a bit of a tricky one, obviously it costs a fair amount to make but it's obviously worth his while. I'm not looking to make any huge sum just keep what is deemed fair. If 50/50 is snubbed I'll just top it, no drama to me. I think highest price for a large round bale last year was £40-50. If you asked for £125 a round bale you'd be laughed out of the country, that's an insane price.
