  1. Hi, I'm 27, have recently moved to the Newmarket area and am looking to settle back into my shooting again as soon as possible. Ideally I'm looking for a local friendly syndicate for the 2015 game season and also for some pigeon shooting, walked-up vermin control on an ad hoc basis over the summer. I'd really like to hear from anyone who might want a mate to accompany them on outings or to help out when a second gun really helps. I have a couple of shotguns, appropriate insurance and over 10 years shooting experience. Thanks, Sean
  2. Anyone fancy meeting up for a few drinks one evening in Hertford? I moved into the area about 6 months ago but haven't really met many people interested in shooting since moving in. SR
  3. Tel Time, If you're shooting in the Hertford area at any time I'd love to come out with you if I may, as I've only just moved to Hertford and am currently in a shooting lull so really would love to start going more regularly. SR
  4. Just out of curiosity due you use a local clay ground or your own traps on uni space?? Also how does everyone store their guns, I imagine it must be difficult with FLO's and landlords? We use a local clay gound as the university does not consider us a big enough club to warrent the amount of space we would need. Our Smallbore Rifle Team did have a range on site but this had to be decomissioned last year because the uni wanted to build a bobsleigh start track and did so too close to the back of the range therefore not giving enough of a safety gap! As for the guns, they are all stored in one big cabinet in the universities armoury and all of them on the certificates of 2 people have access to them. Cheers,
  5. We do have a website...https://www.bathstudent.com/club_homepage.asp?clubid=4880 Don't really know how much you can access without having to be a member of the university but you should get a feel for what we do from there. Cheers,
  6. Why, which one you giving away? Neither...I shoot a Browning 525 and so does our top lady, but the secretary recons his Beretta 682 Gold E is far more superior! Causes major arguments and is nearly always our ammo for banter after we (the Browning shooters) have beaten him!
  7. Big arguments occur at uni over this, so I thought I would see what people thought!
  8. Can you recommend me a good dry lube?? Cheers, SR
  9. I've rescently invested in a new Browning 525 Sporter. I do a lot of regular clay shooting but also spend a fair amount of time in the field. What would you recommend for me to use to clean and lubricate my gun?? Cheers, SR
  10. Awesome, thanks guys. I'll give them a look.
  11. Hi all, As Clay Shooting Captain for the University of Bath, I am trying to find some sponsorship for our relatively small and under supported club. We have great potential in our team and individuals. The last competition we shot we came 5th out of 27 teams, with our top lady winning the Ladies High Gun, beating the current Ladies GB Champion! If anyone knows of any companies or manufacturers that may be interested in supporting our club please let me know. Many thanks,
  12. Hi guys, Does anyone know of any clay grounds in the South West around Bath/Bristol that are good for sporting or sportrap?? I'm looking for alternative shooting for the University team as we currently only train at Mendip. Cheers
  13. Where can i get this book? i'm a young shooter and have been looking for a book on pigeon shooting for ages. This one sounds reasonable so i mite invest!!!
  14. I have'nt got a rotor unfortunately. I've been looking to make one but have'nt yet found the right materials or plans or had the time to make it. If anyone has the plans for or knows where I can get them from I'd be extremely grateful. Thanks SR
