  1. 25k in a pallet, not all for me keeps the customers happy for a week or so. They seem to have the most diverse range of target ammo although i think if Lapua's rimfire ammo is as good as their centrefire rounds they may have a problem. Jay
  2. Just had some recent disapointment after ordering a pallet load of Eley cartridges, after taking 2 weeks to arrive and several phonecalls which lead to different excuses everytime, packaging seems to have gone downhill also. Going to give them a shot at the pigeons this week, anyone had any concerns with quality of shells? Was a bit disapointed being one of the oldest cartridge suppliers and Express or Gamebore would be up in 2 days time. Anyway rant over Jay

    Interesting jobs

I know someone born in Scotland who now lives in New Zealand taking care of a famous opera singer's estate and taking the game fishing boat out.
  4. Just got my variation back from the good old firearms licensing changing my .308 to a .22-250 (lot more handy for what i'm doing anyway). Picked up my new rifle from work on Saturday, Tikka T3 Lite Synthetic Blued and T8 moderator. My day off for the week was wednesday so i decided to head out to the range! after a number of shots and no more right adjustment on my old doctor decided to go back and swap it for a Bushnell Trophy 3-9x40, no biggie the thing was on its last legs or so i thought, no bother! back out to the range another amount of rounds and i was closer still about 3 inches out on the wrong side. Anyway cut the long story short took it back and appeared to be a mounting problem zero'd it in and 1" group at 110 yards, that'll do nicely! After all that target practice and about half a tank of fuel less i decided to head out to one of my local land authorities i have seen a fox on a couple months ago. Set myself up in a nice position along a fence line looking down on the field and pointing right at the wood where i hoped Charlie would pop his head out from. 6:30 turned to 7:00 which quickly turned to 7:45.. i decided to give it fifteen more minutes or else it would be too dark, idiot i am went away without a lamp. 7:55 just as i'm away to pack up out in the distance pops charlie himself! Gave him a squeal on my Baud call and over it comes, stops at a fencepost for a wee and has a little look, "squeal" starts making it's way towards me again. Get it into rang of 100yards n it stops at a fence line and has a sit down looking round its shoulder i give a noise round it looks and straight through the chest. Nice way to christen my rifle with my first ever foxy little vixen probably this year's? http://s1239.photobucket.com/albums/ff501/...current=017.jpg http://s1239.photobucket.com/albums/ff501/...current=019.jpg
  5. We got our Varget delivery in yesterday after a 5 month wait  , Edgar Brothers being the UK distributer have to get it sent from the states, this last shipment had been rejected due to paperwork however when they got everything sorted and it was half way to UK the export license expired causing it to go all the way back again Our rep also gave another excuse for the fact it's hard to get hold of certain head ie. 6mm Nosler Partition 100gr, with Obama being an anti the Americans are stocking up in force, whether this is true or not im not too sure Jay
  6. Hi all, Just been doing my yearly start of season shop for the upcoming winter, after using several kinds of boots over the years from Le Chameau to La Crosse i decided a change this year. Ended up going for a pair of Crispi Steg boots, a new one to my local shop me being the first customer for them I'm really pleased with them, the double tongue seems hardwearing and they provide god ankle support. Only flaw i can see is you cant exactly throw them on takes a minute to do up the double laces. Cost around the same price as the Le Chameau equivilent and as far as i can see just as good, highly reccomended Jay
  7. I quickly changed from Winchester subs in my CZ now using remington... seem to be a larger consistancy in the size of hollow point IMO (could be seeing things) seem to be an oilier round too work well for me Jay
  8. I live in Inverurie... your quite right should have been a bit more specific well i dont really want to intrude in your own ground TJ91, would be quite happy to meet up in January i'm sure i would have a few fields to share with you too.... a couple parks of mine are usually full of Greylags in January if you fancied it ? Jay
  9. Hi Guys, Just wondering if anyone in Aberdeenshire fancied meeting up? haven't had a lot of luck with the pigeons this summer and being relatively new to it was wondering if anyone fancied a shooting partner for a day? Have a few fields of winter rape on my land authority that will be sprouting in a couple weeks so would be willing to swap a day on that and also a nice discount at my local gun store Or if anyone can reccomend a good guide for a day? Cheers, Jay
  10. I've been using a lot of Gamebore Clear Pigeon 30gr 6... served me well over the years. Just away to invest on a couple slabs of Fibre wad stuff got a few days pheasant planned out for the season Eley Hi Flyers seem to be the only thing left in the shop just now though. Jay
  11. I use Remington Subsonics.. not very waxy but are a bit dirty... group well and hit harder IMO Jay

    Fear of flying

I got a fear of flyin mainly only smaller aircrafts though. Was on holiday in New Zealand in February only thing that scared me was the transfer flights  Jay
  13. Dekers, The land authority i have on my certificate is a large area consisting of both roe and red. It is a bit of a trek but a lot of the farms and areas of ground near by are a lot smaller ie. 63 acres and without sufficient backstops a .308 is too big, it is my first certificate and cannot get an open licenese. Thanks Guys, Going to do a bit more research before i rush in.... i'm sure the .22 will do the foxes for the time being and the roe will still be there in a wee while Jay
