  1. I know the classic is chambered 3" magnum. But not sure of your model.
  2. What gun/calibrate are you using? If at 30 yards you are shooting good groups you should hit near the spot at 150yrds (.17hmr) Try getting it to shoot half a inch low at 30 yards. This should get you on paper at 50 and 100. (.17hmr) other calibres will be slightly different. If this does not work, check scope rings. Are they too high or too low for your setup? You don't want to go up at thirty yards you want to go down. A bullet travels in a arc.
  3. Just bought a new hawke 900 pro. £175 and it is great. Reason for buying new = second hand old model hawke 600 on eBay sold for £108 plus £8 postage! £116 for a second hand 600, rather buy new with guarantee and peace of mind. Guess it's horses for courses though.
  4. Yeah been thinking of a small rucksack but at the moment been using game bag and pockets for kit. Yesterday was out and not many rabbits about, too cold maybe? But on one of the fields could have decoyed some crows etc. Trouble is how much is too much to take!
  5. Just wondering how much equipment you all take with you on a day out with your rifle say, bunny bashing? Less is best? Or is more = prepared? Been taking rifle, shooting sticks, game bag, range finder, anometer, bino's and a knife. Oh and ammo! Anybody take more or less?
  6. Has anyone by any chance got a 10 gun or bigger cabinet for sale? Tired of having 3 cabinets and 3 sets of keys!
  7. most good dive shops will do it for you. Am going to get mine filled this week so will ask for you but am sure that the dive shop in fowey or pentewan would be able to do it?? Yellow pages, Dive shops and a quick few phone calls.
  8. The wife hit me with a saucepan when i came home with my last gun, Does this count???
  9. If you only want to take home 20 birds and hit them every time then take 20. If you are the sort of person who misses a few then take 250 if you want to take home 20 birds. But seriously depends on how many you wanna shoot and how good a shot you are. Probably take too many and see only one pidgeon (thats **** law)
  10. If you want something thats cheap to run and already done for you then buy the sj...Even though you will look like a hairdresser on steroids.... If you want a serious off road vehicle then buy the landrover, They are the best by pedigree.....Or am i biased cause i have a landrover......That also drinks fuel quicker than gazza and amy whitehouse drink beer on an all day session!!!
  11. Right well i am looking to buy an air rifle for myself and for my son to use as his introduction to shooting but am not sure what to get. Am looking at the Lightning XL Tactical or the Scorpion T10. Was origionaly gonna go for the xl cause i have always had springers in the past but have been lured towards a multi shot gas gun. What are the advantages and disadvantages of the both rifles? Which is best? Is there anything better out there on the market for the money? Also as i don't know anything about new air guns what will i need to refill the bottle and is this costly? Could a T10 power upgraded to FAC in the future if i wanted to go down that route? All the help you can give would be very very helpful. Cheers.
  12. Always something has to spoil a good day out.. The words "get a life and go protest at something worthwhile" come to mind.
  13. Yes. As long as you are following the genral licences and such it is the same as any other day i believe. Rules change for game etc on sundays and the such but as its out of season you cant shoot game now anyway.
  14. Should have been more clear about that, when i said play, i meant that i let her retrieve it back to me a few more times. Made her sit and wait while i placed it and then got her to bring it back again!
  15. Well took the puppy out again yesterday afternoon, Have been doing a lot of whistle work and dummy training with her lately and have been neglecting to take the gun with me in the fields so the weather brightened up so off we went. Got into the first field and had a run around, let her blow off some steam. Nothing around except a few pidgeons too far away to shoot so back in the landrover and up into the far fields. Walking along the hedges i spot a rabbit in the distant hedge, raise my gun and to my amazement out of the corner of my eye i see the dog sit! She must have been looking at me as i raised the gun and actualy done something i want her to do but have not even tried to train her to do yet. I almost missed the damn rabbit cause i was that amazed at the dog. Anyway, hit the rabbit and the dog ran straight over to it, Licked it to death for about a minute before i called her back with the whistle. She brought the rabbit back to me lovely, so i took it amde her sit and wait then let her have it back for a little play. It was only a youngster too small for the pot really. Just thought i would share this with you all. Cheers.
