  1. Yeah I have watched a few of the stripdown youtube vids and it seems no more complicated than my 10/22, I haven't seen any mention of aftermarket trigger kits for this rifle though, maybe I'll get on with the factory one. £250 to £280 is what they retail new, still not bad for a new rifle I guess.
  2. Thanks Kenj, Nice review, your analysis is bang on most of the stuff I have seen in reviews of it, certainly not off-putting, glad to hear the screw cut didn't affect iron sights, out of interest have you tried cci subsonic ammo? only downside I see is that since it came in Mossberg flavour instead of Magtech the price has gone up somewhat.....unless the price you mentioned was second hand? I want to buy a new rifle.......so I know only I break it.
  3. So I have a new slot on the FAC for another semi-auto rimfire, already have a Ruger 10/22 Magnum (shoots well and I like it but noisy in WMR), so now want a semi to use .22lr subs, had designs on getting an Annie 520 series (familiar with them as my dad had one) but have recently got drawn toward the Mossberg 702, the price is a big attraction, I also like the looks, so far reviews are not scathing and it will probably be up to the task I require of it. So what do people know about this rifle? advice on any tweaking you could recommend? can it be screw cut without losing the front sight? Thanks in advance
  4. Thanks for the input guys, it puts my mind at ease.
  5. So, Just sent the renewal forms off but I am slightly concerned by how much or how little shooting I managed to do over the last 5 years, is this likely to be a possible factor for a refusal? theres been so much going on in life for me that it affected how much time I had to go shooting and also for some part just my mood to go shooting, it would be ironic if I got a refusal now as recently my enthusiasm has come back and I just recently secured quite a substantial permission with another one on the cards. what are your thoughts? is this hobby of ours relatively secure enough to stay in the club once in?
  6. This is what I did with my 10/22 magnum
  7. I wouldn't have eaten it, prob had mixie, even an injured wild rabbit will want to run.
  8. No disrespect taken, your point is spot on, I was actually focusing more on the fact most of these events have been stabbings, no amount of gun regulation will prevent stabbings.
  9. My thoughts are with everybody affected by all the awfull events I've heard since christmas eve, what the hell has happened this christmas? it's been like a killing frenzy.
  10. Thanks for the speedy reply, yes I have an open ticket and the idea is in return for a bit of coaching I would have permission to shoot on the land, mainly for zeroing because it's not rich in bunnies.
  11. As the topic suggests I was wondering if it was possible for me to supervise someone else to use my rifle whilst shooting on their land? I would be present at all times and the land belongs to the person, they don't hold an FAC but may be interested in the future. is that technically the same thing as mentoring?
  12. Reminds us all that despite having arms and legs and fully functioning physique we can still be disabled, I feel ashamed of myself every time i see this guy.
  13. Very true, but I fear that the argument might be that only legally held firearms have ever been used to commit these kind of massacres, that is the most frustrating part, the real evil people who hold illegal firearms tend not to 'snap' and go on rampages.
  14. could this be 'have a final clean of all our toys' we might be handing them in soon?
