I find out tommorow aswell and it is quite safe to say I am very nervous. If i do well I get treated to a new shotgun im after from my Dad so fingers crossed. In a way im more scared about not getting the shotugn than the grades :look::S I also need to get b's and above to get my place at sixth form so its gonig to be a very stressfull time until i read those peices of paper which decide my fate all the best to everyone Alex

Thanks for the advice, I think i should be ok because my main area of shooting is in the sporting layout and also pigeon shooting so it should suit my needs well in these areas. Saying that i have shot down the line a couple of times now and have enjoyed that too but i would still have the 868E i could use if i knew i was doing a trap disiplin. Thanks throdgrain i will have to try and get to a shop and handle a benelli the compare it too the berreta. Is the recoil system used in the wooden stocks too? And do you find this feature effective for recoil? When i fist started using my o/u i suffered quite badly from recoil but now my mount has got better i dont suffer too badly at the moment. Many thanks for the comments again especially anni the saftey advice was much appreciated as it was something i was concerned about as i know some people can be wary and not trust semi's about. what are peoples veiws if you use a semi with a saftey flag in the breech in conjunction with putting it in a slip ? or would you not need to worry too much about the flag? I have shot at lakenheath a few times now and I think i have only ever seen one person using a semi which was on the skeet range so i thought it would be best to double check with the users on here if i was missing something Throdgain I would be intrested to hear your reasoning behind the benelli. I have seen videos of it being used and it does look impressive indeed . The only thing that puts me off slightly is the styleing of the stock with the arrows going across it towards the rear. many thanks Alex

thankyou very much for the replies its much appreciated i think i shall take the plunge and get a berreta semi pending ofcourse on my GCSE grades which i find out on thursday the down the line issues inst too bad as i have only ever shot it twice and its in quite a close knit informal clay shoot so it should be alright i will also look into the extenable magnet gadget which will save me searching too long for the shells are the berreta semi autos considered to be 'best' or should i also look into benelli's etc? I have not tried any other makes but the beretta does fit me well. many thanks Alex

hey, At the moment i am using a beretta 686e and i am getting on just fine been doing the sport about a year now and am a member of a local club. i recently had a go with a beretta ulrika 2 and fell in love with it and got on very well shooting it. I am looking into getting one to use but i am concerned whether they may be unsuitable for some clay shooting, what limitations does having a semi have at a clay shoot? would i be restricted to certain disiplines such as down the line as i would throw shells out all over the place? i would also like to havea semi auto available because i sometimes do pigeon shooting and three shots would be usefull in the hide. I would appreciate anyone who could offer me some advice on what they would do in this situation many thanks Alex

im finding that my 32g number 6's arnt that effective compared to the cheaper brands i have tried. i would have thought a relatively expensive cartridge would be better? has anyone else tried them and if so what are your feelings on them ? cheers alex

i followed the link to the site and played the interactive quiz thing, the correct option apparantly is to blow a hole in the wall. i chose the air strike option and the reason for it being wrong was that it would destroy all the evidence

would it be possible to lie it flat bolt it into the floor and in one end bolt it into the lower section of the wall. this would mean there would be less of the buldge and still sucure?

thanks for all the replies guys i went to the game fair which made for a very nice day out. like markio says there wernt many shotguns up for sale think i saw about 5! i watched the trick shooting exhibition which was interesting as well. Looked round for about 4 hours and then went down to lakenheath. Im very pleased that we decided to go they were very friendly and helpful. Mannaged to get through 250 clays between the two of us and was a great day out. Many thanks guys Alex

There is the possibility that i might be going to have a round at the clays at lakenheath tommorow. I have never been to a large ground and have just shot at a local ground. I am a CPSA member aswell. what will i need to take with me apart from the obvious gun, carts, ear protection. will i need to take my sgc and cpsa card? anything else? im from cambridge as well its nice to know theres a few of us on here from cambridge

i have the 686E and i would vouch strongly for it. It has never skipped a beat and is a very good gun to start off with and will also be able to preform at a high level. I have the 28 inch version and find it balances nicely for me (5ft 10). i think the 682 version are the same but just hand made??? i belive anyway im sure some one will be able to help me out on that point? hope this helps a little.

isnt there a requirement that you have to have the cabinet positioned on an external wall?

i do javelin too do you throw for a club and how far do you throw ?
