  1. Emmellodge Comet out of sibling, has been bred from using an affix Wellburygrange in 2016. Ex Comet - Wellburygrange Cartlend has been bred from under the affix Birkbymeadow, this was in 2018 Both affix would suggest these are in the Northallerton area. W
  2. They've probably tried registering them as black with white chest or similar. Les Dixon bred the sire, he used to do dog displays at agricultural shows etc but I'm not sure if he still does. He's not someone I've had dealings with but I've heard the odd story! The sire's sire Teak street is a sibling of FTCH Mediterian Blue, a prolifically used stud dog. The grandsire on the dams side Delfleet Garlic was owned by John Lees afaik.
  3. Post them on here as there's 1/2 a chance I can tell you who owns dogs in the pedigree as the OP is local to me.
  4. Post a copy of that legislation if you can find it
  5. as far as I know - 70 - motorway 60 - dual carriageway 50 - the rest unless lower restrictions on the road ie 30 / 40 etc It's the same as non car based vans. We're hounded by camera vans in North Yorkshire so I do 50 everywhere, much to the annoyance of the long stream of traffic that usually builds up behind me.
  6. I'm still waiting for a convincing answer on how fast you can go in a pick up. As I don't want anymore points / go on anymore courses I'll stick to 50 / 60 / 70, mind the lorry 3 inches from my bumper on the A66 whilst I was doing 50 on a single carriageway bit did make me twitchy.
  7. You've missed the first bit. The sire of the pup is Endowood Cutthorpe Of Buccleuch, owned by Buccleuch but not bred by them. I assume the pup is Kingcott Tuxedo bred by Richard Claydon. Bred in the pink, should prove to be a handful 😄 😄
  8. I'm surprised that whoever has your car (I assume a recovery company took it away) hasn't passed details onto a 'where there's blame there's a claim' shark. I had a head on a few years ago that wasn't my fault, the shark got me a 4x4 for 8 weeks (£160 a day + vat), a payout on my truck & an injury settlement. Don't go to their insurers, they'll only do what's best for them & not you.
  9. Not all dogs pick things up straight away, some you have to grind & grind away at & use any method that will work.
  10. Without seeing what's gone on you've no idea if the trainer is sensible or a loon, you've no idea if the trainee has actually grasped what is being taught or realised the trainer is a loon. I take the view that you're teaching a dog to do something, ie not what it says on the can, in a spaniels case that's hunt. So if I'm training a dog to go back I don't want it going back 5 yards & then start hunting, I want it to keep going back until it either touches a scent line or i stop it. Using dummies it can see is one way of doing this. Mind in a cockers case using anything the little **** will retrieve often works well.

  12. I believe trailers need to have double doors to be legal ie an inner & outer door
  13. A picker up I know had a gate system over draws under a canopy in his pickup, he was stopped on the A66 trans pennine route by a traffic cop. He was told his set up was illegal. He's now got a separate box inside the canopy, he's not someone to spend brass so I suspect his story is true. I also know an ex traffic cop that picks up & he also has a box in his pickup. I have a cab box in my pickup, the first thing that's coming off in a serious impact is the canopy, it'll either shatter or the brackets will snap. If my dogs do survive an impact I don't want them running round the road. i suspect it's another vague law, a bit like what speed limit you're supposed to obey in a pickup.
  14. Near Scotch Corner. The pale yellow bitch is mother to 3 of the yellow ones, a dog & 2 bitches, the darkest yellow has the same Father as these 3. The black bitch has a similar pedigree to the pale bitch, I've bred her to my dog & I have a 4 month old pup from the litter
  15. No firm plans as yet but we're probably going to have a litter in the early part of next year. All our dogs are health tested eyes, elbow, hips & dna. They also all work, I've regular picking on 2 grouse moors ( 4 days a week if there's grouse) & also pick on 3 pheasant estates. I only run soft dogs that'll hunt. As yet no decision as to what dog we'll be using.
  16. The flyer looks very similar to one that was for a dog stolen in Doncaster at the weekend, this dog has been found. Good luck finding this one.
  17. You've not taught him the first 3 things he should have learnt. Recall, recall, recall. Until understands these 3 things forget about doing anything else.

    Labrador Pups

Black dog, yellow dog & yellow bitch available
  19. Yes, a Labrador is the best choice ??
  20. This is Otis my home bred dog, he'll be 3 in September. He's just sired his first litter of pups to a bitch we own, the for sale add is currently listed in other sales.
  21. Labrador pups for sale £850, ready for new homes now. Black dogs & a yellow bitch available. Parents are part of my picking up team for grouse & pheasant. They both have excellent health test results & pups are hereditary clear of pra,cnm,sd2 & eic. PM for contact details, we're located in Richmond, North Yorkshire. Health test details
  22. It's known issue with the CRV. I had 2 sets of tyres on it of different brands & it did it with both.
  23. We had a 2009 (59 plate) on a lease for 3 years. I think we got mid 30's mpg with it, better with non supermarket fuel. Never had any mechanical issues with it over 36k only putting a set of tyres on it. Only issue was it followed cambers on the motorway & was exhausting to drive on long journeys as you had to hang onto it all the time or you'd end up on the hard shoulder. It hung left in the UK & then hung right on the continent. We've been looking at getting an older Rav 4 & I've been using https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk/ on the registration numbers of vehicles available on autotrader to see if there's any common faults showing up as mot failures.
  24. I think it should be compulsory that all health tests done on kc registered dogs should be sent direct to the Kennel Club & published. I know there's copyright issues with the PRA test but the if a 3rd party test is logged with the KC progeny will show up as clear on mykc. I've only got Labradors now & the biggest bugbear is SD2, very few people are logging their results particularly if it's a carrier. I now assume that if a dog's not got the test results posted it has to be a carrier. Numerous FTCH are, as is the line where all the red is stuff comes from.
  25. More common in cockers than a lot of people realise. They'd be better off testing for this than some of the dna testing that's being done. I bred a litter where both bitches turned out to have a problem, one was PTS, the other has never been operated on & has won awards in Trials. A friend has one that's been operated on, the problem was only found when it was hunting hard. It's been a long process & the dog wont trial but it will be able to work. I'd be interested to know the KC name of your dog to see how it's related, could you PM it?
