  1. You didn't look hard enough. http://drakeshead.com/puppies.asp
  2. I think the last place you want to take this dog is a rabbit pen. I'd be doing 100% obedience work with him & 0% hunting. No walks either.
  3. Not it's not! Teach the dog that when you call, it comes back. Forget about training anything else until you've got this in place as the first three things you should have taught this pup is recall, recall, recall. You don't need an electric collar to do this but it may take some time as you've allowed this pup to find out life is much more fun doing what it pleases.
  4. You'd probably be better off seeing if they'll let you go on the flank where you go now. You can get some good retrieves for your dog from here, mostly last drive of the day when everyone else wants to ****** off home. I pick up but i'd rather take young dogs on the flank as it's a great place for them to learn the job.
  5. It gets more confusing when you're running multiple dogs & you use their name to cast off.
  6. Teal isn't the best of names to call a dog if you plan on using heel as a command.
  7. http://www.gundogtrainingforum.co.uk/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=22711&hilit=blind&start=10 The method stated by Essgrouse (2nd last post)is a good way of teaching a dog to go straight. I find the white plastic posts used for horse pens okay to use as a marker & easy to carry about.
  8. What a clown you are. It's called a confidence game, you need them to learn to go out.
  9. You can simplify these even further. Use white dummies on a track, the dog can see the blind when you first start doing it this way but you get it ingrained into the dogs head that when you line it up / send it there'll be something to find.
  10. Whenever I've done pheasant days on estates that have grouse moors the money is the same as grouse. It's been stuck at £45 a day for at least the last 5 years & I assume it's due a rise this season. Picking up money is about double but you do need a pack of dogs, you don't get to pick up with just one or two dogs. Everywhere has been on the books for the last few season with estates also paying the 20% basic tax (£9 for the £45 paid), you can claim the tax back through expenses if you're paid to work dogs.
  11. You don't need to do the test to charge a fortune, £700 for pups seems the norm regardless of testing.
  12. You can check health test results on myKC, all you need is the registered names. DNA tests are either done once or a pup came be hereditary clear by parentage. Hips / Elbows are done once. Eyes should be tested annually.

I've sent you a PM. I have one for sale local to you.
  14. I sold a car in exactly the same way. Seller paid off the finance company & balance was paid to me. It's simple.
  15. I'd assumed it was summat off Young John based on his previous posts.
  16. There's a 17 month old black dog on one of the facebook groups, it's fairly local to you. At first glance looks ok, any good?
  17. Not done much with them yet, just a bit of mucking about, a bit of recall, some retrieves with a bit of hunting. They've not been on a lead yet & haven't been taught to sit. I got lucky with the picture as the dog was sat looking so I tapped on the window & the other two came & sat as well.
  18. Nearly 5 months old, left to right, Jenny - Martha - Otis. They're starting to look grown up. Garage / kennels getting there!
  19. ar = 2014 ap = 2012 I'm assuming that you're looking at a KC pedigree paper?
  20. 100% correct. Stop being predictable, make the dog watch you. Stop taking it for walks, take it out to be trained.
  21. It's quite common in Cockers Stop letting him have access to things to hide, you must not let him carry on doing this.. Work on him bringing you things back, doesn't have to be a dummy, nothing formal, just play.
  22. Act in haste, repent at leisure
