  1. Evening all, My names David, this is my first post on the PW forum so a formal introduction is the proper thing to do! I've recently moved to North Somerset, I'm an experienced gun that's shot since a young lad. I've currently got a young working Springer called 'Badger' who's still in training, I'd love to get him working doing what he does best. I've unfortunately had to wave goodbye to several brilliant permissions at an old location due to a career move. Being new to the area I thought I'd try and reach out to people via the PW forum to see whether or not there are currently any vacancies for a gamekeeping/farming, Crop/Livestock Protection Gun in the North Somerset area. In addition with Badger being a fantastic working springer in the making, I'd like to appeal to any local gamekeepers/shoots in the South West region for a potential beating vacancy in the near future. I'm Registered and Insured with BASC, I've also got DEFRA certificates, required for the quarry mentioned above. I'm available midweek (usually mornings with Shift-work) as well as the weekends. If you're interested in this service, please contact me privately. Kind Regards, David
  2. Hi All, myself and my son are experienced beaters (4/5 seasons) on a rough shoot, mixed cover and bramble woodland with our 7 & 3 year old Cocker Spaniels, unfortunately mid-season last year the landlord of out shoot in Kent decided he didn't want a soot there any more and closed it down mid-season! We managed to get onto the Marks Tey shoot for the last few of the season and my lad got to shoot on keeper's day (I don't shoot). Whilst we have an invite back to Marks Tey this coming season and beyond we would like something a little closer to home (Romford), ideally Brentwood area. I have been trying to get hold of the Hainault shoot and have this week spoken to them but it seems they have enough dogs and beaters. If you have vacancies or know of a shoot that does, please let me know and we can arrange to meet pre-season or on pigeon. Cheers.
  3. Hello, New to the forum - recommended to take a look by the Midlands Regional Officer of BASC. Thanks for having me. I have moved to the Lichfield /Tamworth area, having been in the East Midlands where I did a lot of shooting. I have no shooting, permissions, or contacts on this side of the Midlands so I am looking for a chance to do some beating this upcoming season. I am a BASC member, fairly respectable, and have been shooting for a number of years. I was also a member of a wildfowling club in the East Mids. I would be available on Saturdays. I don't have a gun dog, but keen to get one soon. Just need somewhere to work him. Thanks in advance.
