  2. Jackie and Richard Clarke have just installed a new pay and play range at Six Mile Bottom Shoot. I have been up to see it for work, it's in some woods and they have put a whole lot of effort and thought into it. Hard standing for the car park, get a card and shoot as much or as little as you like. They have launched a priority club for first chance bookings, email Jackie on the email below if you want to grab one of the last places. "It's a bit windy up here" I said to a colleague. "That'll be why they put the windfarm here then" was the crushing reply! But it made the clays more fun. I've got a couple of slots left at a preview event we are holding for women shooters on Friday 2nd. From Six Mile Bottom Facebook: Pay & Play at Six Mile Bottom Shoot New Sporting Layout of 10 different stands in rural surroundings Stands suitable for all levels of skill from beginners to experts (and all in between!) Fibre Wads Only Launching Saturday 3rd April Groups of 2 to 6 people (following current Covid-19 rules) 34p per clay – pay after shoot (card or cash) Refreshments available to purchase on site Toilets on site Pre-booked timeslots every 45mins available for Saturday 3rd April from 9am Wednesday 7th April from 9am Thursday 8th April from 2.30pm £10 per person deposit Email jackie@sixmilebottomshoot.co.uk for enquiries or book your slot

  4. Hi everyone. I took my dad shooting yesterday. it was his first shoot in around 30 years. he was a keen shooter up until the late 80s. I took over his gun last summer and have got into the sport my self in a big way. I have a semi auto browning and his old Franchi 400. All is well and good with the guns for my use. The problem is he has now started taking an interest in shooting again. But has sever arthritis in his wrists and hand and the recoil is making it near unboreable for him to shoot. I want to get him a gun that he might be able to work with something he can use and shoot without being in pain and giving up on the idea of going out again. Many thanks

  6. I have just received my shotgun cert and have been advised to try a few different guns prior to buying one. I would like to spend around £750 on my first gun maybe a bit more if I need to. Does anyone know a club that would provide lessons with a few different guns. I have been looking at guns and think that either a Beretta 686 or a Browning 425 or 525 with 29" or 30" barrels. I want to shoot clay mainly but would also like to go out with friends rough shooting. I am in the South Wales area.
  7. We also have places on our 'Shooting for the Future' Course at Loddington in Leicestershire. This is a one day jointly run course between the GWCT and BASC. The day concentrates not only on shoot management, but also your own shooting skills. Further details can be found here https://basc.org.uk/sporting-services/basc-training-courses/shooting-for-the-future/ Many thanks, Peter
  8. Had an excellent day today on the clays near my families home in Cumbria. The place is called greenquarries and as the name suggests is essentially farmers land with an old quarry on it. The ground is very varied with some excellent traps. I couldn't recommend it enough. The place is run by Peter Hetherington (A CPSA coach) and his family. I went with my girlfriend and she thoroughly enjoyed it too. Admittedly I was shockingly bad at the bolting rabbit trap... For any of you ladies out there that enjoy cakes as much as shooting the ground also hosts a number of Chelsea Bun and Shotgun Club events.
  9. Gun Digest Book of Trap and Skeet Shooting by Chris Christian (Paperback, 1997) Very good to good condition, very little wear and tear, some light tanning to the edges of the pages which is normal for these books £12.25 Posted
  10. Hi All Prospect Target Club has just launched its website ; www.prospecttargetclub.org.uk Regards
  11. Hi all, I'm getting my licence soon and wanted a cheap first gun and found a 912K with a nice bit of wood on it for only £595 with chokes. I really like the look of the gun and sole reviews say it is great but others are saying it is absolutely rubbish and returning it straight away. I don't know wether to chance it or not?! (I wanted to start some clay shooting btw)
  12. This may well have been asked in the past, so sorry if repeated. Where is the best place to buy clays in bulk? Regards Buzz Browning
