  1. 12 Flexicoy pigeon decoys, these are old versions. 10 are in very good condition, 2 are unused. 1 old plastic full body Pigeon decoy in poor condition, no legs. 1 plastic full body crow decoy with legs, very good condition. 1 pigeon shell decoy, very good condition. 1 green carry bag, 4 outer pockets, carry handles, shoulder strap with a big soft pad. Small bit of netting to cover holes etc. Very reluctant sale but short of storage space. £50 most definately no offers. Collect Wednesfield or Droitwich or Telford. I often travel down to Worcester and up to Whitchurch if that helps with traveling.
  2. Good morning all, I am a British translator working on a French client's text about woodpigeon shooting, which will ultimately be read by enthusiasts in English-speaking countries. Some of the more specialised terminology has led me to appeal to the shooting community. I am struggling to find the correct English term for a device which pretty much looks like this: Its key characteristics are: Its role is to cause the decoy to move so as to imitate a landing woodpigeon and attract other birds. By setting your decoy on this X and pulling on the cord, the pigeon moves and flaps it wings. This attracts birds from a distance. Folded size: 60 cm Dimensions when extended: 1 m The French name for this item (at least in the catalogue) literally reads as 'ground pump' which seems wrong to start with. Thank you for any input you may have.
  3. Hello all, I haev been lurking a while and shooting with a mate for a few years on the pigeons - borrowing his guns, dogs and all the paraphernalia that goes with it. Well, end of last year i decided to bite the bullet and apply for my SGC, well, Covid put that on hold as i was awaiting my cabinet inspection at the end of March! Anyway, i still bought a gun in the meantime and he is looking after that for me as it's now on his ticket, he is a good friend! But, now i need some poles, nets, decoys, seat, rucksack, ect to get me up and running. Is there any of this about on here? I am based in Dorset. Thanks, Rob
  4. Hello all. I'm new to pigeon Watch and just trying to navigate through the site on this phone... 🤦🏼‍♂️ Here's a little about me. My name is Adam, 33, married, I have a dog, no kids, I work in the a Dementia specialist care home. I love the country, dogs, camping, shooting, motorcycles, metal detecting, photography & my truck! I have been shooting for about a year, and would really like to get into Decoying! I have had the idea of starting decoying since just after I started shooting, but finding my own permissions have been challenging, as I'm sure your all aware. Since this lockdown I have spent more time than I am willing to calculate watching the Fieldsports & Shooting Channel, watching the likes of Andy Crow, George Digweed, Geoff Garrod take on the pigeon population. Id like to give something back to my local(ish) farmers and help them with the pest problem, and crop protection. I live in Bedfordshire, and have lived here my whole life. My wife and I enjoy travelling up and down England camping, we both love the outdoors. I have been metal detecting for a few years with my local club, and enjoy researching the stuff I find. I have been doing photography for more than a decade, as a hobby, but I have done weddings for friends and family, and birthday parties, but my ultimate enjoyment is photographing wildlife and the countryside. I look forward to chatting with you all, and hopefully be able to contribute to this forum, and my community.
  5. Hello all. I'm hoping to be able to find someone I can go decoying with. I'll start with a short'ish intro as I'm new here. My name is Adam, 33, married, I have a dog, no kids, I work in the a Dementia specialist care home. I love the country, dogs, camping, shooting, motorcycles, metal detecting, photography & my truck! I have been shooting for about a year, and would really like to get into Decoying! I have had the idea of starting decoying since just after I started shooting, but finding my own permissions have been challenging as I'm sure your all aware. I have been offered to tag along with a chap, but our work/free time schedules haven't lined up as yet, so I'm hoping to broaden my chances by reaching out here. I live in Bedfordshire, and am happy to travel to surrounding counties and further if need be. If there is anyone willing to take on a very eager, very helpful, punctual, trustworthy individual, I'd be delighted to lend a helping hand - when this lockdown is over... Please, feel free to ask any questions.

  10. Hi I have been playing around in the garage and made this to add some movement to decoys. A lot of my shooting is around the farm yard and that is where I will be trying this out over next few days (if this wind will drop 25mph today ). Have a look and let me know what you think. Cheers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6QPgCrezZzk&list=UUC9bFGQoMmYFjsFikJ-fQ9g Not sure why my text is boxed in grey
  11. Hi all I know i haven't posted in an age, but wanted to share a film Field Sports Britain did about me on Air Heads, in the hope that if you know anyone who feels they are unable to participate in Airgun Shooting in anyway, it may start them thinking differently. So if anyone is feeling sorry for themselves about their inability to be included, they're running out of excuses! If they come again for a sequel with the shotty, I've suggested we look at getting Emma Watson and a shared shower scene.... in strict keeping with the plot of course! Apologies for the shameless self promotion!

  13. Hi, If anyone has a pair of canada goose floaters kicking about spare - any make, just reasonable condition - would you get in touch? Thanks, Jon
  14. I have a flapping Mojo Mallard for sale, it is in very good condition and was only used once. It is a rechargeable battery operated flapper which makes the proper flapping motion and not spinning motion like the cheaper ones. Comes as you see in the picture plus the charger, built in speed controller. Great for pulling the ducks in. £80 plus post which at this stage I would estimate to be around £10 because of the size and weight, I dont have the original packaging but it will be well wrapped to protect it. Easily transported as the wings and stand can be removed. Happy for you to arrange your own courier too if you wish. And if paying paypal it will be plus fees. Thanks Paul
  15. Well after seeing so many people on here decoying and getting good numbers of pigeons and crows I decided it was time to have a go at it myself. So whilst at the CLA Game fair I treated myself to 24 flocked pigeons 2 floaters and 6 crow decoys which had been sat in their bag for a couple of weeks till now. So time off came and these little beauties came out..... So Day 1 I trundled down to my permission and spoke to the farmer to find out where he has been having the most trouble with crows and he pointed me in the right direction. So set up by 1030 with my pigeons 30 yards to the front and slightly to the right in what look like a 6 and then the crows slightly to the left again in the shape of a 6. With the wind going straight over my head towards the decoys. Thought it was going to take forever for birds to come in but I hadn't even got comfy behind my cam net when the first pigeon came in. They just kept on coming the crows came in in massive numbers I couldn't reload fast enough as I am only using an old non ejector 12g. But got 11 crows and 6 pigeons Day 2 Set up for 0930 on a different field taking a friend with me this time as he had never done any decoying either and wanted to witness what I was ranting on about the night before. Unfortunately there wasn't much wind yesterday so wasn't really sure how to set up my decoys anyway I set up and put the hide under some trees and had the dog bed today to sit on. But again 5 minutes in and we already had 5 in the bag. I kept putting the shot birds out making my crow flock up to about 15 before I stopped putting them out and just started piling them up. Unfortunately I got a call which meant we had to pack up and go home early. We still got 22 crows and 11 pigeons
  16. Just starting out in the pigeon world so after building up some equipment. I looked for a place for this but I'm sure the mods will move it if necessary. I'm willing to swop a Harris swivel bipod, same as http://www.lannertac...to-9039039.html but with a lever to lock off the swivel, much easier than the thumb wheel, for decoying equipment. No tat please that you just wanna get rid off as the bipod is top quality & condition. Try me with what you have, I am happy with cash either way if necessary. Also have cam nets avail if anyone wants to make an offer? Cheers
  17. When I go roost shooting this February, I want to increase my normal bag. I was wondering if any of you experts out there use decoys or something similar when in the woods themselves. ANY advice welcome...
