  1. First time back out on the rifle after the birth of my daughter two and a half years ago, real excited, praying for a good shoot on the roe deer. 10 minutes out from our destination stalker Steve talking more than watching the road as usual hit a massive pothole and burst the tyre but we plod on to the farm deciding to change the tyre later. On the farm we split up Marcy heads of stalking over the back and we head down into the valley myself and stalker Steve to head into the hot zone for the roe! We got nicely settled in scanning the area constantly for (lesser spotted lately) roe. All of a sudden there they are 2 of them doe's ideal, just popped out in the sunshine lovely I look to get the crosshairs on but I have tree line in the way, adjust position moving to my right to get a better shot, adrenalin up thinking yes!what a morning! as quick as settle back into rifle the damn roe retreated back into the woods and that's it they are gone, stalker Steve urges me to be patient as the only way for them to travel is towards us so we sit tight and with every passing minute it felt more and more that was going to be our only glimpse of them. It's gonna be one of them days! We decide to move after 30 minutes sitting, we track along to where the roe disappeared and had firmly decided that was it for the day when all of a sudden there were two more walking out further up the tree line happy days! We hit the deck and settle in, it feels like a long shot well over 300 yards, safe shot good back stop, I fire and snatch it, missing, damn, damn and double damn, the roe deer bolt and disappear out of view, stalker Steve stating we need to sit tight as they will head back this way, sure enough there they are proud as ever two roe stroll out into the middle of the field, safe shot, aim, quick whistle to get them to stop bang one dead, I roll of the rifle and Steve rolls in, second deer, running, I'm whistling and barking to get its attention it stops and in that moment bang off its feet legs in the air, there's another roe for the pan. Nothing finer, my need to hunt is again reignited, and a wise man once said you cannot predict Mother Nature. How true!
  2. hi i'm looking to book some stalking for this year, Sika, red or fallow. Me and a mate travel to kent around 3 times a year to stalk fallow deer, stalks only cost £120 for full day but when you add up the cost for travelling there and back and then the cost of digs and BEER it turns out not to be that cheap. So looking for some stalking that is a bit closer to me. I have a contact in scotland for sika and was there last year and shot my first sika stag and hind, We will be going back there this year also. All contacts will be appreciated.

  4. Hi i have some land at minute for roe shooting, But i'am also looking for some more land as dont want to out shoot all what i have and spoil it. I would be happy to pay a small fee for some deer shooting land if need to. Me and my friend have now been shooting deer for 4 years, and we respect the land that we shoot on. We are full members of BASC insurance. I live in northumberland but i am willing to travel.
  5. Hi all Thanks for taking the time to read this Ideally were looking for somewhere to go Vermin pigeon and rabbit mainly, We can manage deer if needed as two of us are DSCL1 Quilified, we have shotguns and Firearms from Fac .22 air, .17Hmr, 22LR, .243 and 7x57mm and DSC level 1 (Deer Stalking) we are very keen shooters and we will take on anything. I myself have been shooting for over 20 years and was a gamekeeper when I left school, we are keen to get in the fields again no matter what the weather. I’m sitting here now pulling my hair out because when I lived in Norfolk I had 3,000 acres to shoot on, bit of a long way to go for a day out... Please could someone help before I go bald!! I am from an agricultural back ground so if any farmers/land owners need a hand on the farm that won’t be a problem so please give me a shout. Were looking for some where roughly within an hour’s radius of Nottingham/Derby Finally we have all full BASC insurance and copies of all our details will be given to the land owner if needed. Paul
