  1. Hi I am looking for land to utilise for Rabbit shooting. Got my FAC and insurance. Appreciate that this is a long shot, but worth trying....if you don't ask!!!!! Cheers Steve
  2. Wanted: Permission to shoot rabbits with moderated .22 with some Infra-red (no bright lamping) I live in Ottery so something close would be appreciated. Responsible (teacher) shooter aged 49. Hobby, to show my 3 (under 7yrs) kids that meat doesn't come wrapped in cellophane, not professional gun. Please PM me if you know of, or have anywhere appropriate. Thanks, Mark
  3. I just went out and took the dogs for a walk and as the weather wasn't looking too bad I took the shotgun. I walked the first two fields working my spaniel through the hedges and woods with nothing showing but my wifes dog seemed very keen so as we went into the next field I kept the spaniel to heal and sent out the pug to work the hedge which she did quite well but nothing showed. As she was so keen today I thought i would give her the chace to work the brambles and marsh at the end of my perm which usually holds a bunny or two, she had been working the cover for about two minutes when she started yapping then a rabbit bolted about 30 yards away the rizzini went up and the rabbit was bowled over! The spaniel retrieved it as the rabbit was nearly as big as the pug!
  4. Hello All, Firstly, thanks to everyone for the great advice I’ve found on here so far – I’ve learnt loads from just trawling the forums – it’s all good stuff! Now, about me: I’m an ex infantry officer (1st Bn The Yorkshire Regiment) who has come back to the real world and got a job in Birmingham. As a result, I’ve recently moved to Warwickshire (near Henley-In-Arden) and now I’ve sorted out the house, I’m looking to get back into shooting. In short, I thought I’d post on the off chance that someone has a few fields that they could do with a hand on. I am an early riser, so can do a few hours first thing or in the early evening. In addition, I can think of no better way of spending my weekends than sat in a hide waiting for the critters to come knocking… I am a full member of the BASC, hold a shotgun certificate and also have a silenced PCP for rabbits … Also, although I’ll never be able to shoot game, I’d love to have a crack at some beating, so if anyone knows of a shoot in or around Stratford-Upon-Avon who could do with an extra pair of legs, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Cheers all. Jim
