  3. Hi does any one, or has anyone had any experience reloading the 28 gauge cartridge thinking off reloading my own but would like some advice if any one has any on the subject im sure it would be possible to make a descent cartridge.
  4. Just spotted this on one of the suppliers websites. FROM THE GUN TRADE ASSOCIATION 24th OCTOBER 2016 TNT have taken the decision, effective from 14th November 2016, to remove the transport of Firearms, weapons and ammunition from the TNT network. This includes firearms, component parts, moderators, ammunition, all powders, primers and missiles. ** Sadly we will be unable to accept orders requiring delivery of powder after Monday the 7th November 2016 **
  5. A quick shout to the lads that have been using this stuff last year where have you settled reloading wise only have a KG so don't want to be sending half of it down to the pattern plate was thinking along the lines of a 42 gram load as the stiff is so costly buffer or no buffer ?? any pointers would be grand
  6. My first attempt from my 'new' Lee Loader, actually looks OK. I do have a query though (actually this'll turn into a few I suspect) of you more experienced 'Loaders: I was working in the garage and the temperature was low - about 5~6c (roller doors don't keep in the heat very well). In *some* instances: After I poured in the powder I tapped the wall then dropped in the head and tapped it down. When I removed the finished round, there was some powder on the outside. In one case so much that I'll only use it to make the rifle go bang (I'll start the hunt for a kinetic extractor soon). I'm using Hornady cases that have only been fired once, from my rifle. What would case this? Condensation? Incorrect alignment (pretty unlikely) I fitted the primers as a batch run, so sat the cases in the extractor and then placed the large tube over the top. Do I need to make it more 'snug'? The end products are the correct length, btw. I loaded another case with powder and then looked inside (no spillage this time) and found there looks to be plenty of room for the head (not excessive, but enough) I'm using 37g of H414 with a Hornady 50g V-Max head, with CCI large rifle primers. I've primed 20, but stopped filling at 10 as I'm not happy with the spillage. I'll hose the tube out with brake cleaner to ensure there is no grease or muck in there, just to be sure, but I doubt this is the case. I washed my hands before starting and defo wasn't sweaty. As always: all info/advice gratefully received.
  7. Hi guys, I've got 199, 12 bore, 2 1/2" plastic cases (they have "LYALVALE" stamped in the brass so most likely cheddite but not sure), 5 mm brass head, primed with cx2000 primers. I bought these, tried one and realised they're too short for anything I need. I'm wanting £15 for the lot, not posting them as it's not worth it. So Oxford to pick up or I'm going to be at the shooting show on Friday and can do the deal there.
  8. So I have had it in the back of my mind for a while that it would be nice to get into reloading, but have really been looking for somone who is giving up of the like so I can get a full set up for a reasonable price. So I thaught I would ask PW for advice So I have seen this for sale and have no idea if this will be ok, ie. if it will be up to date, data avalable ect. and also if it is a good price?! (I have abosulutly no idea, but looks like it could get me started) So the ad is as follows: "Redding loader old model but ok ,20kgs shot mainly 6,s 2,000 primers, qty 1oz plswads tin nobel 82 2x1/2 tins 82 1/2 tin vectan qty capped cases all 12 bore also approx 125 no 4 shot express steel selling for old mate who has stopped £200 ono" I have sent them a message asking for photos and will post as and when they arrive. So guys is this a good idea, and if so would i need anything else to get me started? (I have a sack full of my once fired carts) Many Thanks, James
  9. This is a reloading die I made out of scrap over this week end. It's a plug expander die in .308. In the interest of increased accuracy I'm moving away from the traditional ball expanders where the case is squeezed down, then the expander dragged up through the neck to expand it out to the correct size. This plug type of die allows you to resize the case without the expander ball, then expand from the top to the exact dimensions you prefer to give your desired neck tension. I know you can buy "off the peg" expander plugs and I know it adds a couple of stages to the reloading process but it keeps me amused. and a video of the how I made it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MTW20NzZ-OA

  14. I was about to buy a 12 guage roll turn over tool off of the fleabay but would rather give my money to someone off of here.......unless of course one of you is called "Libby Lemons" in which case I'll just get on and buy it! I could also do with card punches in .410 and 12 if you happen to have any. Thanks in advance, H.
  15. Hi Hunters, Before I continue I would like to say I am a complete Novice at this and in no way an EXPERT. My Savage Axis .223 is very bullet fussy and only really like Hornady VMAX out of the box. A friend of mine offered to reload for me and the accuracy increased 10 fold. Unfortunately I am very impatient and didn't enjoy having to wait for someone else to re-load for me especially when you are down to your last 5 rounds so I decided to look into doing it myself. The local gun shop (Sporting Supplied - Bloxwich) were selling the "Lee 50th Anniversary Reloading Kit" which was £119 so I decided to give it a go. Thanks to Youtube I managed to load my 1st batch of ammo but felt there isn't many amateur videos online for people like me who really just want to get started so I have uploaded some of my videos for you to view. http://youtu.be/hlk7mq48xno - Seating the Bullet http://youtu.be/AKobQ4es4gU - Powder Throw/Scale http://youtu.be/ojnmo99X2FE - Powder Throw http://youtu.be/6QzuXE2twjI - Scale http://youtu.be/WgEFTelUV1M - De-priming http://youtu.be/cVOqa2aNT94 - Primer tool http://youtu.be/a1r0IVoLEUw - Priming MORE VIDEOS TO FOLLOW This kit is super easy to use! I am looking to upload the de-primer and cleaning brass using the Lyman tumbler The only extra kit I am now looking to buy is a Powder Trickler to ensure the most consistent powder levels. Please feel free to abuse, comment and like the uploads Kit Used; Lee 50th Anniversary Reloading Kit Lee Deluxe .223 Die set Maplin's own brand Caliper Ramshot Xterminator Powder CCI Small rifle primers Hornady 60GR VMAX Heads Mixed Brass .223 Lyman Tumbler Rifle; Savage AXIS .223 Boyds Laminate Stock Hawke Endurance 30 Scope Warne Low Mounts ASE S5 Moderator ENJOY

  24. Hi wonder if anyone can help - Getting a 22 Hornet soon, and lots of people on these forums either have one or know about them. Was looking at a Weirauch or CZ ( there are no 527's in the country till Late Feb 2014. But will be reloading, where do people get the heads from as some research shows that lots of cast lead bullets for the Hornet are not very accurate - unless someone knows better... FYI Had to have a .22 Hornet as my land near Milton Keynes is too flat for a .223 Cheers Pete H
  25. Every thing you could possibly want for reloading 12 gauge cartridges. Have to pack in shooting due to health reasons, so don't need my reloading stuff. Just when I've got it all together ! :-( More than enough to get you going with a 1000 plus cartridges . Buy a bit more powder and shot for further 1000 or more I should think. Check out the Photos as there is too much to list. any questions please PM me. The two machines are almost new, with extra accessories. Would like £550 please or near offer (No silly ones please) I have spent the last 2 years getting this kit up together and only recently upgraded to The MEC and the pillar drill for roll over crimps. Just totted up the replacement cost of this (Shocked my Missus) it was £927.00 Collection only please from South Derbyshire Due to the sheer amount
