  1. Does anyone out there know what these two tiny nodules are on the brass of a Lyalvale English Sporter 12 cartridge? Curiously, I have other batches of English Sporters that do not have them and they look too clean to be a deformation. I probably would not have noticed it, but they would not fit into the chamber of my Greener GP. Looking at other cartridges I've used, none of those have it. english sporter cartridge.mp4
  2. I'm toying with the idea of selling My 30" Manufrance Falcor, it is the fixed rib and standard stock height model rather than the less desirable adjustable rib with monte carlo stock, has a beautiful walnut stock with fantastic contrasting grain. The gun has just had a re-blue of the action along with a service in December 2022 and a stock re-finish, gun has not been shot since the service as the stock has been in for the re-finish and me not having the time to get out. Chokes are Improved Cylinder and 1/4 with 2 3/4" Chambers, a different alternative to a Beretta or Browning that is rarely seen, the gun has a sliding top latch lock up, similar to Krieghoff with a subtle boarder engraving, pictures are of the stock during re-finish, the action after being returned from service/re-blue and the gun in full prior to the work carried out, LOP is approximatly 14 3/4" Has a wide Rib with mid rib and white front bead, has been a fantastic gun and served me well on pigeons, game days and clay, is a wonderful all round gun I just don't have the time any more. Price is £1950 but I am open to offers, the case would not come with the gun, send me a message for any more pictures, Can RFD Transfer if needed.
  3. Beretta 686s. 12 gauge shotgun. 28 inch barrels. Muti choke (includes six chokes). In pretty good condition (got the odd, small ding on the stock) only selling as it’s just not been used. £600
  4. Owned from New. Selling my Browning Cynergy Sporter 12g O/U shotgun 32" multi-choke barrels with tapered top rib, recoil reducing butt pad. Comes with original Diamond Titanium Chokes CYL-IC-M-IM plus choke key. Standard adjustable trigger with spares, Trigger lock, and Browning original case. Reluctant sale due to a shoulder injury - £725 ovno.
  5. Used for practical shooting on the occasion, mostly for clays but in all round very good condition. One small nick ontop of the receiver and brass abrasion on the ejection port cleaned after every shoot. Well looked after. Comes with factory Versamax hardcase and plenty of spares I got direct from Remington whilst in the states. I've fitted the enlarged bolt release button. Factory spares are: Spare firing pin firing pin spring cam pin ejector spring, extractor + pin. Still have the interchangeable fibre rib bead, trigger lock and stock shims (not in photo) A really good, reliable gun, perfect for any use Looking for £500 SE London happy to RFD

  16. Hi all. Quick enquiry to gauge opinion on the following 'dilemma'. Recently granted my SGC and looking to make my first purchase. After a visit to my local RFD, I have given myself a choice of EITHER a second-hand Beretta A400 Lite (black synthetic) OR new Beretta A300, same finish. With the new gun (at a price of £915) there's a three year warranty (option of 10 years for a £50 fee to Beretta) and 3 chokes. With the used gun (at a price of £995) there's a three month warranty and 3 chokes. To most, and to an extent to me too, that looks like a no-brainer of a decision. But, I seek the views of more experienced shooters and Beretta owners please. The RFD lists the A400 as being in good condition and having had light usage. My eyes can see that indeed it does look in good condition, but not so easy to determine previous use. (It has that kind of GunPod feature that claims to count every round put through it, but perhaps that info is on an app in the possession of the previous owner.) It also has that Kick-Off recoil technology in the butt. For a fee I secured it for a demonstration and put 51 shots through it. It jammed 3 times in that session which could have been due to the design of the budget cartridges provided at the clay centre. Direct comparison with A300 not possible as no demonstrators available. I don't want to exceed a budget of £1k (still got peripherals to consider on top), and I'd prefer a (fairly) low-maintenance gun that may have better appeal to a used market if/when I upgrade or if I find I'm not involved enough to justify possession. Going for a synthetic stock as I found I got a bit precious about a nice wooden stock on a Theoben air-rifle I had and I don't want to amplify that on an expensive shotgun. If budget allows further down the road in life, I may look at that option then. So, is the A400 so far superior to the A300 that it's worth the trade-off, or am I really not gonna notice the difference? Usage will be purely for clays with, perhaps, a very slim chance that coastal water-fowling opportunities will come my way. It may well be that in the time taken to decide, the A400 sells to another buyer and this whole post becomes moot...or rhetorical...but I'd rather make an informed decision, see? My own internet research has, thus far, proved inconclusive. Thank you for taking the time to at least read this.

  18. Hi All, Admins, I hope this is fine. I do have my Shotgun License. I'm after a double barrell shotgun, either SxS or U/O to work on as a project. Something I can restore. I've got great ideas to shou-sugi-ban (Japanese charred wood technique) the stock and foreend and completely sand and re-blue or some funky finish on the barrels and action. Complete strip down, service and re-assemble. If anyone's got a gun to give away that might be a good fit do let me know. Regards, Fran See an images below of what I'm thinking of doing with the woodwork. https://resawntimberco.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/tora-shou-sugi-ban2.jpg
