  1. I was asked to keep a eye on a couple of fields for a mate as the geese were starting to get built up. So yesterday i got there at 0600 to do a recce and see if it was worth having a morning out. There were a few about and so we arranged to meet up this morning. We met up at 0545 and set about carrying all the gear to where we were going to shoot as we did not have permission to drive on the field. It was soft underfoot and after going a few hundred yards carrying all the gear it was good to get it all unloaded and start setting up. It was around 0630 and the first geese came close enough to the decoys for us to start shooting. The geese came fairly steadily and we shot till 1030 and decided to call it a morning. It was my first go on the geese this year and it was a really good morning out. We all had a great morning and even having to carry all the geese back to the vehicles did not faze us. Looking forward to the next session already. Ended up with 19 Canada geese,10 Greylag and two Mallard ducks. Everyone enjoyed it and the dogs had a good work out too.
