Evening all, My names David, this is my first post on the PW forum so a formal introduction is the proper thing to do! I've recently moved to North Somerset, I'm an experienced gun that's shot since a young lad. I've currently got a young working Springer called 'Badger' who's still in training, I'd love to get him working doing what he does best. I've unfortunately had to wave goodbye to several brilliant permissions at an old location due to a career move. Being new to the area I thought I'd try and reach out to people via the PW forum to see whether or not there are currently any vacancies for a gamekeeping/farming, Crop/Livestock Protection Gun in the North Somerset area. In addition with Badger being a fantastic working springer in the making, I'd like to appeal to any local gamekeepers/shoots in the South West region for a potential beating vacancy in the near future. I'm Registered and Insured with BASC, I've also got DEFRA certificates, required for the quarry mentioned above. I'm available midweek (usually mornings with Shift-work) as well as the weekends. If you're interested in this service, please contact me privately. Kind Regards, David

Hello all. I'm new to pigeon Watch and just trying to navigate through the site on this phone... 🤦🏼♂️ Here's a little about me. My name is Adam, 33, married, I have a dog, no kids, I work in the a Dementia specialist care home. I love the country, dogs, camping, shooting, motorcycles, metal detecting, photography & my truck! I have been shooting for about a year, and would really like to get into Decoying! I have had the idea of starting decoying since just after I started shooting, but finding my own permissions have been challenging, as I'm sure your all aware. Since this lockdown I have spent more time than I am willing to calculate watching the Fieldsports & Shooting Channel, watching the likes of Andy Crow, George Digweed, Geoff Garrod take on the pigeon population. Id like to give something back to my local(ish) farmers and help them with the pest problem, and crop protection. I live in Bedfordshire, and have lived here my whole life. My wife and I enjoy travelling up and down England camping, we both love the outdoors. I have been metal detecting for a few years with my local club, and enjoy researching the stuff I find. I have been doing photography for more than a decade, as a hobby, but I have done weddings for friends and family, and birthday parties, but my ultimate enjoyment is photographing wildlife and the countryside. I look forward to chatting with you all, and hopefully be able to contribute to this forum, and my community.

Hello all. I'm hoping to be able to find someone I can go decoying with. I'll start with a short'ish intro as I'm new here. My name is Adam, 33, married, I have a dog, no kids, I work in the a Dementia specialist care home. I love the country, dogs, camping, shooting, motorcycles, metal detecting, photography & my truck! I have been shooting for about a year, and would really like to get into Decoying! I have had the idea of starting decoying since just after I started shooting, but finding my own permissions have been challenging as I'm sure your all aware. I have been offered to tag along with a chap, but our work/free time schedules haven't lined up as yet, so I'm hoping to broaden my chances by reaching out here. I live in Bedfordshire, and am happy to travel to surrounding counties and further if need be. If there is anyone willing to take on a very eager, very helpful, punctual, trustworthy individual, I'd be delighted to lend a helping hand - when this lockdown is over... Please, feel free to ask any questions.

With the current spell of drier weather my permission will, hopefully, start some planting at the end of the week. In the event that this attracts the attention of pigeons / crows how defensible would crop protection be as essential work. Particularly as it would be solo work with no contact with others from home and return. It would also count as my daily exercise. Thoughts welcommed. Thanks.

Whilst carrying out crop protection yesterday over freshly drilled beans, there were hundreds of birds on the fields. However about 70% were Stock Doves. The flocks were mixed with Woody's. The Stocks were landing in amongst the decoys all the time, which actually helped to draw the wood pigeons in as well but made snap shooting to the sides quite difficult. I have obviously had a few Stocks about before but never in such vast numbers. Has anyone else experienced this recently?
