  1. Evening all, Does anyone own or have used a Huglu Hammer gun? 3" Chamber, steel shot proof, chrome lined, nice wood, multi choke. They Also they seem really well made compared with the usual Turkish guns. I'm just wondering if the internals are as soft as butter? I'm trying to find a reason not to buy one 😂 Cheers
  2. Hi there, just purchased a Thomas Bland and sons 12g hammergun. Can anybody help with dating the shotgun and find out its model (if any). Details As far as I know the plural (son vs sons) begun at 1936. From the proof marks I can tell that is a pre 1954 shotgun so I narrowed the date between 1936 - 1954 (if I am right). The name T. Bland and sons appears on both sides of the action and on the top of the rib (no address). The serial number is 25697. The Birmingham proof marks on the barrels are the crowned BP NP and BV. Nitro proof also written. Left barrel marked "choke". Both barrels marked with 12c in a rombhus. Also on both barrels an indication of 1 1/8oz found. Right barrel marked bore size 13/1 left barrel marked 12. On the action's flat the is a capital B in a rombhus. Thank you!
  3. A farmer showed me his 12 bore hammergun. It was his father's so is thought to be around 80 years old. I checked markings and saw jt13. Net searches say it could be made by jt randall, circa 1900. I fired it off around 10 times, the right firing pin does look shorter than the left by a good bit, and failed to fire the first 3 shots, but did the rest. Can replacements be bought or are they usually custom made? when the guns unloaded and you tip it to the right, the top lever flops fully under gravity to the right thus letting the breach open. I'm presuming something is broken, would it be a spring etc? What would keep the top lever in tension. I'm just checking to confirm he needs it fixed......
