  1. Not had liver and onion for ages so treated myself to a very easy dinner tonight, so simple in fact all i had to do was ding the peas and mash. Mashed potato was left over from Sunday and my neighbour made the liver and onions as a deal when i gave her a bit of my sausage😉 and the liver.
  2. Hello Ladies and Gents I have a some fantastic deer stalking on offer with high quality muntjac, roe and fallow that all being in very promising numbers across several extremely scenic farms in north Wiltshire and south Oxfordshire. We aim to provide days for all levels of deer stalking experience from those who have never been before to those with years under their belts. On the day of the stalk you would be met by one of our experienced and friendly guides and taken through a pre shoot brief. Whenever possible we would head to a separate part of the farm to check zero and ensure both you and your guide are happy with your shooting before heading out for between 2-3 hours stalking. While we can’t promise you the deer as after all they are wild animals our guides have a brilliant knowledge of the ground and will do their very best to guide you right onto your target species. After every successful stalk your guide will offer you the chance to take photos with your quarry to help remember a fantastic stalking experience. Stalking prices Morning or evening stalk (approx 2-3 hours) £70 Muntjac cull (does and all buck with antlers under 3 inches) £65 Roe cull (does and none medal bucks) £65 Fallow cull (does and none medal bucks) £70 For a full list of medal prices or any questions please contact me and I will happily answer any questions. We have a large number of medal class muntjac and roe with the occasional medal fallow joining the larger herds we see. Thanks Fraser at macs guided shooting
  3. I had seen plenty but they were usually running for cover, in cover or unshootable. I decided a few months back to go out specifically to find one and had even turned down a Roe buck on the basis that i would get lucky. It seemed that the harder i tried the less likely I was to be successful. Today up at 0430 and at the wood for 0530. Timing was good but rain when I left was not promising. Then as dawn approached it the rain stopped and i began to think the effort might be worth it. In the wood and I am the quietest, slowest person ever to walk through there. Looking, more than walking, along one of the old tracks. After about 50m A movement catches my eye and a doe Munty comes into view at about 25m. I can barely breath as i lift the rifle and she disappears into the undergrowth. I rest the rifle on the sticks hoping to see her appear further back in the wood, when just behind her a buck comes into view. He stops and looks at me, barely 20m away, and about 1m below me. I slip the safety and he drops where he stood. What had been so hard now looks to be not so difficult after all. Persuaded by my shooting mate to keep it for the freezer, I have just processed it. Don't think I want to do another, it did not want to part with its fur coat. The first of a few, I hope.

  5. Hi Folks, We have made arrangements to provide a further cull shooting opportunities for Muntjac & Fallow in the New Year. These will be conducted from PM Friday 24th to Am Sunday 26th of January & again from PM Friday 7th to AM Sunday 9th March. On each weekend you are welcome to attend as many of the four high-seat outings as you wish. Costs: £75 per outing to include unlimited cull beasts (Fallow & Muntjac). Trophy beasts may be taken if seen, however these will be at additional cost. We will be shooting on several well known estates north of Aylesbury, where the deer have been growing fat on Pheasant feeders & cover-crops & the keepers are keen to reduce deer numbers. You should be competent to gralloch your own beasts, however, coaching is available for those looking to improve their skills. You will also need to arrive with your rifle (.240 or greater) pre-zeroed, and bring a target to confirm this has been done. You will need to show your FAC conditioned for deer as well as valid shooting insurance (BASC, NGO etc) Local accommodation at the Best Western HERE (only £20 PP based on two sharing) or Buckingham Travelodge - food at local pubs/restaurants as suits best. If you are interested in joining us, please contact me with your Email address (info@farringtonds.com) & I will forward further information.
