  1. Hi All, I am a new shooter based in Scotland and just went through the process of applying for my first FAC and SGC! Process was very straight forward and as they misplaced my form I have been waiting months for it now 😞 Should be getting them through the post within the next week or so and thought I would ask any advice for beginners? What should I think about buying first and if anyone in Scotland could tell me anywhere for beginners to go shooting would be great Thanks
  2. Hi everyone. I took my dad shooting yesterday. it was his first shoot in around 30 years. he was a keen shooter up until the late 80s. I took over his gun last summer and have got into the sport my self in a big way. I have a semi auto browning and his old Franchi 400. All is well and good with the guns for my use. The problem is he has now started taking an interest in shooting again. But has sever arthritis in his wrists and hand and the recoil is making it near unboreable for him to shoot. I want to get him a gun that he might be able to work with something he can use and shoot without being in pain and giving up on the idea of going out again. Many thanks
  3. I have been trying to age (date) my new Maxus because Browning's serial number dating system does not cover the Maxus to great extent. Remove the trigger group and if you look inside the polymer frame you will find a mould date, mine says February (2) 2012. While this does not precisely define the guns build date it does show you how old the age of some of the parts are. I have found a brochure going back to 2009 when it appears they were first released.
  4. Don't know if this is the right place to post this but I just wanted to tell everyone that I've just got my first gun a Browning 525 30" sporter I know it's not very original but I'm very happy. Can't wait to use it. Now what gun do I buy next?
  5. Hi, just wondering what people think of the browning 525 classic game with 30" barrels, I've been looking at buying one new to use mainly in the field and the odd day at the range....... I've tried the main rivals and being 6'4" the browning fits me better. I don't know a lot about shotguns and have never bought a new one before ( the price I've been offered for a grade 1 is the same as some s/h ones...!) The thing I'm not sure about is should I get a sporting with 30" or a classic game with 30", I've looked at the reviews online and they all say its a good gun just wondering what "owners" think. Any advice would be great, cheers Tedly....... Ps, although I'm new to this site I've been pigeon shooting for the last 10 years with a trusty semi..... Just wanted to treat myself....
  6. Hi all I've just had my sgc granted so have been looking for a good first gun I've found the revo premium game for £500 and was just wondering if anybody has seen handled one of these thanks. John
