Right am going to have a bit of the blonde moment now.

And i know Sweepy going to die when he reads this.(sorry sweeps)

But

Is there a reason why the machinery is so big nowadays

I mean i have not seen one stardard size tractor on the roads

At all this summer .

Its not that long ago that my Grandpops

Got by with his horses or average size tractor.

So is their a good reason why .

Or are my townie roots starting to show. :hmm:

xxxSuzy

Great pics by the way. :hmm:

Come on Suzy, surely you have to agree that "Big is Beautiful"!

In answer to your question - its all down to economics! Something that size can sow a field in less that a quarter of the time it would have taken your Grandpops and, what with wages being so high today farmers, just like everyone else have to save as much on wages as possible, especially as the fields are muck larger than they were years ago (Once again, for economic reasons).

I bet if the truth was known you would love to take that machine out for a spin to the supermarket as well!

Thank you Mr Frenchie

Thought i was being a bit thick :hmm: .

But if you dont ask your never find out.

I loved to have a ride in one.

But when i was 19 i spent the year working on the farm

And one day the farmer discided to let me have a go in his(small) tractor.

I wont tell what names he called me when i had the little accident

But i am not related to the dog.

And both my parents where married (to each other) when i was conceived.

So i think will leave the driving of one . To the men in the know.

P.s

Did you also know that you can tip forklifts over .And if you run over the farmers veg patch in one .

It makes a awful mess.

I do :hmm::oops:
